On Sunday night the annual EE British Academy Film Awards took place in England’s capital, at the London Opera House. Many of the film industries biggest & brightest star headed to London for the black tie awards, walking the final big red carpet before the prestigious Oscars. From our homegrown Irish heroes to international stars, check out who made the Killer Fashion Best Dressed list this year!
The Best Dressed
Nimrat Kaur was a breathtakingly beautiful presence on the British red carpet wearing Georges Hobeika, donning this baby pink caped dress with floral appliqué & embellishments on the upper bodice and a plunging keyhole too. Her perfect bouffant hairstyle & barely there par kohl-rimmed eye makeup with a nude manicure and minimal jewels were truly the perfect finish.
Lady in Red
Actress Julianne Moore attended in a square plunging red gown by Tom Ford, which featured full sleeves, a roundneck collar and was half velvet-half crepe texured. Her hair was styled into Old Hollywood waves with a black manicure and Chopard jewellery. Julianne Moore also won the award for Best Leading Actress in ‘Still Alice’.
Dianna Agron wore a red Lanvin dress to the awards, wearing a crimson red petal sweetheart neckline number with a grosgrain sash, that she styled with a gold cuff bracelet and black decorative strappy sandals. White Hot
BAFTA nominee Amy Adams attended in a white column dress by Lanvin, which featured an embellished waistband & a tassel belt and was sleeveless too. The custom-made crepe dress looked great on the actress, styled with a straight hairstyle tucked behind one ear and simple accessories.
Supporting her husband on the night, Anne-Marie Duff wore a white gown to the awards, which had a fair bit going on; strategically placed bodice with a sheer polka dot overlay and sheer sleeves, rib-pleated waistband details with a pleated full length skirt to finish. Her dress was styled with a messy braided updo, coral lipstick and barely there makeup.
DJ & presenter Sarah-Jane Crawford worked the red carpet while werking the red carpet donning this blush pink Ariella Couture dress. Her look featured a plunging bodice with a lace overlay and a relaxed mermaid fitted skirt. Her dark waves, smokey cat eyes and minimal jewels made for a picture perfect look.
A Splash of Colour
Felicity Jones attended the BAFTAs in this Christian Dior gown, with its black sleeveless bodice and the floral appliqué embroidered pale pink silk ballgown skirt. A mid-parted fringed updo and sparkling earrings with smokey eyes and a black manicure completed the nominee’s look.
Gugu Mbatha-Raw wore a sheen look on the red carpet, donning a lilac Prada gown that featured black crystal-studded trims. A pink lip and sparkly earrings with a black box clutch rounded up the young actress’ look for the evening.
Wearing an electric blue look was Titziana Rocca, whose asymmetrical gown also featured a triangular peekaboo lace panel on the waist and a thigh high split, which showed off her blue pumps. Deep waves and smokey eyes completed the look.
BAFTA nominee Reese Witherspoon was also in attendance donning a dark shade of purple to the awards. Her Stella McCartney gown featured a plunging neckline with a simple fitted skirt & train, that was every bit sexy as it was classy. James Bond actress Léa Seadoux was a true beauty in her canary yellow Prada gown that had cut outs on the waist and capped sleeves. She definitely turned heads in her subtly sexy but elegant choice, which featured gathered detailing on the bodice and a soft-pleated skirt, styled with Chopard jewels, a curled bob and red lipstick to boot. Hot damn!
Exquisite & Embellished
Julie Walters walked the red carpet in this sparkling all-over sequined dress. Her long sleeve was worn with a black sheer wrap that featured seaweed-like trims. Drop earrings and sparkling cuff bracelets with a wispy hairstyle & kohl-rimmed eyes completed this look.
Actress Keira Knightley continued her beautiful maternity style donning a girly Giambattista Valli midi dress. The very pale pink bodice featured floral appliqué, while the fully lined skirt featured an embroidered tulle overlay. Soft waves and subtle smokey eyes finished up this look.
Attending with her nominated husband Eddie Redmayne, Hannah Bagshawe wore this military green gown that featured glitter embroidered lace with feather-like capped sleeves and a high neckline. A wispy updo and gold clutch finished up her look beautifully. Eddie Redmayne also won the BAFTA award for Best Leading Actor in ‘The Theory of Everything’, huge congratulations to him!
Edith Bowman wore an extraordinary look to the awards, donning a lace scalloped plunging gown with an all-over mini floral printed body and pockets on the hips. A fringed updo and pearl drop earrings rounded up her ensemble.
Going for a girly colour, actress Olivia Grant wore this pastel pink v-cut shift dress with a beaded overlay and bra-like cut outs on the bodice. It was sexy & flirty but still quite sweet, and was teamed with a metallic box clutch, barely there makeup and soft waves.
Black Beauties
Rosamund Pike attended the BAFTAs in this simplistic black bespoke Roland Mouret halter dress that featured signature folds. Although it’s not a fabulous choice, the chic look was styled with beautiful green & silver Bvlgari earrings and a pavé bracelet.
Attending with her husband, Sophie Hunter looked lovely in her LBD that featured a narrow keyhole detail and halterneck ribbon. I adore her styling for this look a lot; statement drop earrings, a bangle bracelet, barely there makeup and a chic updo.
Hofit Golan definitely pushed the red carpet boundaries for this awards show, donning a fun & flirty look by Stephane Rolland. Her asymmetrical dress featured a cut out on the bodice, showing off some cheeky cleavage, with a belted sheer overlay waterfall skirt that was printed with gold & black stars. She wore matching designer gold & black sandals, and styled with a Zagliani bag and jewels by De Grisogono, finishing up with a quiff hairstyle and cat eyes. I really love how bold this look is, it’s perfect!
Actress Claire Forlani also opted for a simple black ensemble, donning this velvet strapless sweetheart gown that worked curves into her slender body beautifully. A statement necklace and box clutch with barely there makeup & an updo completed the look.
Alma Jodorowsky wore Stella McCartney to the awards, walking the red carpet in a midi dress that featured sheer panels on the upper bodice and sleeves with circular appliqué all over. She added Chanel shoes and a handbag to the look, finishing up with a sideswept hairstyle and red lipstick.
