On the same night of the BAFTAs, the prestigious 57th annual Grammy Awards took place at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, on Sunday evening. There were quite a lot of different styles of fashion; some good, some not so good, but most were beautiful head-turners! With AC/DC opening the show for the first time, see who walked the red carpet before the show, and who made the Killer Fashion Best Dressed list at this year’s Grammys!
The Best Dressed
Well there’s not much doubt that my beloved Taylor Swift stole the Grammys red carpet show for me, in this wondrous Elie Saab gown that featured a mini dress and full skirt overlay on the waist in an ombré hue of turquoise, as well as cut outs on the shoulders. The Grammy-winning singer added a flash of magenta ankle strap sandals to her look, with a straight hairstyle, smokey eyes and Lorraine Schwartz gemstone earrings to finish. Beautiful!
Black Beauties
Grammy-nominated Miley Cyrus attended and walked the red carpet in a cut out look by Alexandre Vauthier Couture. Her sexy v-cut look was teamed with minimal Lorraine Schwartz jewels and a slicked back hairstyle, with a fresh-faced makeup that really works in Miley’s favour. Gorgeous from head to toe!
Queen B was of course in attendance, donning a sexy Proenza Schuler gown on the red carpet. The tulle dress featured delicate sheer peekaboo designs, intricately laced with beading & embroidery with a wide-v neckline and a plain waistband to contrast. Long mermaid waves with a dewy glow & shimmer nude lipgloss and chandelier earrings & rings by Lorraine Schwartz completed Beyoncé’s look. Later on, she performed ‘Take My Hand, Precious Lord’, which you can watch here, wearing a custom-made Roberto Cavalli Atelier white gown with a Messika necklace. Beyoncé also won Grammys awards for Best Surround Sound Album for ‘BEYONCÉ’, Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song both for ‘Drunk in Love’ with Jay Z. Well deserved Queen B, congrats!
Ciara was also in attendance, looking gorgeous in this Alexandre Vauthier Couture gown. The architecturally & asymmetrical sculpted tulle gown featured a waterfall skirt with the ruffles cascading around her long legs to show off her Christian Louboutin ‘Mea Culpa pumps, which she wore with a gold waistbelt that really added to the whole look. This look is definitely better on the singer than on the runway model, it seems as though it was made for Ciara. A slicked back straight hairstyle and subtle smokey eyes with a nude lip completed her beautiful look.
Jeannie Mai wore a stunning Ali Younes Couture gown on the red carpet, working her presenter role & fashion choices brilliantly. Her dress featured sweetheart corset bodice underneath with a lace overlay, gold leaf designs on the shoulders & upper arms and a feathery black exaggerated train. Her heels were by Sebastian Shoes and her rings by Loud Love Jewels, finishing with smoldering eye makeup and a wispy updo.
Also opting for the diva gown, Tracey Edmonds attended in this corset ensemble, that featured a sheer sweetheart corset with Baroque embellishments, lace detailing around the hips and cascaded int a tulle train. A white manicure and mermaid waves were the perfect additions.
Jessie J was also on the diva gown bandwagon, donning Ralph & Russo Couture to this year’s Grammys. The singer’s black & embellished gown featured all-over beading with a sheer upper bodice and half-sleeves, as well as a full train. A slicked down bob and vampy red lipstick completed her look.

Her full-length bodycon featured cut outs on the waist and hot pink straps from the middle of her sweetheart neckline that complimented her lip colour perfectly. A pop art-style Kotur box clutch and soft waves with exaggerated lashes completed her look for the red carpet. Miranda Lambert also won the award for Best Country Album for ‘Platinum’.
Lady in Red
Shaun Robinson continued her brilliant red carpet choices at the Grammys in this red gown that featured a mesh panel on the bodice with studs designed in a U-shape on the front, strategically covering up the presenter in a classy manner. The fit of this dress worked absolute wonders, especially so in that scarlet red hue, which Shaun added a red glittery clutch, drop earrings, a straight hairstyle & smokey eyes to.
Ellie Soufi opted for a crop top and skirt ensemble, with the top’s scalloped hem and lace & sequin details and the cascading skirt adding oomph to the look. A sideswept ponytail, oversized earrings and subtle smokey eyes with a red lipstick to finish were the perfect finishing touches for the young singer.
Grammy-nominated Antonique Smith also looked gorgeous in her two piece ensemble, donning a red & black artistic floral printed sweetheart crop top & full high-waisted skirt. Old Hollywood waves and a dark red shade of lipstick and sparkling jewels completed this gorgeous look.
White Hot
On the opposite spectrum of the colour wheel, Grammy-winner Jennifer Hudson led the way for the ladies in white, donning this strapless midi by wearing a Tom Ford. Her chic look was styled simply with DSquared2 shoes, a Jimmy Choo bag and jewellery by Casa Real, Jorge Adeler, Jack Vartanian & Marli. A metallic purple lipstick, cat smokey eyes and her pixie cut were truly the perfect additions to this look.
Toni Braxton also walked in white, donning this plunging gown by Marc Bouwer. The dress featured a seriously striking embellished neckpiece that ran through the middle of the dress, which complimented both the mid split on the skirt, the train, her cuff bracelet and her mirrored peeptoe heels. Toni Braxton also won the award for Best R&B Album for ‘Love, Marriage & Divorce’ with Babyface.
Gina Rodriguez joined the stars in white, wearing a Christos Costarellos dress that featured teal lace & zipper trims and a lace waistband too. The v-cut dress featured a slight slit on the front, showing off her Rene Caovilla shoes. She accessorized with a Rauwolf clutch and jewellery by Carrera y Carrera & Ivy.
Joining her husband on the red carpet, Jordyn Blum looked lovely in a strapless sweetheart lace dress that featured an embellished waistline. It cut off above the ankles showing off her silver barely there sandals, and she styled her hair into a braided updo finishing with large lashes & red lipstick.
Chrissy Teigen was also in attendance, donning Emilio Pucci. Her long sleeve dress featured peekaboo designs along the mid-section and down the sides showing off a bit of skin without overdoing it. A voluminous wavy hairstyle and an embellished clutch rounded up her look.
Metallic Madness
Lady Gaga sure did impress me, it has to be said. The singer walked the red carpet in a plunging metallic beaded gown by Brandon Maxwell. The revealing dress was worn with a Lorraine Schwartz silver & emerald pendant necklace that did the opposite of distract from obvious cleavage. Pavé sandals, green-silvery eye shadow and exaggerated lashes, a pink lip and her silver hair completed the look for the entrance. Later Lady Gaga performed ‘Cheek To Cheek’ with Tony Bennett, which you can watch here, donning a black deep sweetheart gown also by Brandon Maxwell, which was covered in sequins and feathers from the knees down that she wore with a matching feather fringed wrap. Lady Gaga also won the award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for ‘Cheek To Cheek’ with Tony Bennett.
Keltie Knight wore a pewter gown to the awards, making quite the statement in the part-embellished part-sheer dress but did feature a nude slip underneath. The full length and long-sleeved dress was worn with Rene Caovilla heels, and a side braided hairstyle with smokey eyes to boot.
Rocsi Diaz was also a beauty in embellishments, donning a wide v-cut gown with all-over crystal beading on a sheer tulle overlay. Her brunette waves and minimal accessories were the perfect finish.
Singer Ariana Grande attended in a white & metallic asymmetrical gown, not surprisingly by Versace. The look featured a cut out on the bodice and a thigh-high split on the skirt, with a silver metallic mesh overlay from the bust that also featured floral motifs. Her signature high ponytail and cat eyeliner were of course present, along with white pumps, a choker necklace and a silver clutch.
Adding to the metallic shimmer was Grammy nominee Katy Perry, who opted for this Zuhair Murad Couture midi illusion dress with its nude underlay and fringed beaded embellishments, which she wore with the runway waistbelt too. Silver strappy sandals and her lilac hair styled into a wavy bob, Katy added Sophia Webster chandelier earrings to the look to complete. Later she performed ‘By the Grace of God’, which you can watch here, wearing a white Valentino Couture ensemble, and styled her hair into slicked back ponytail.
Rita Ora also wore a fully embellished look, donning an all-over sequin covered Prada look that featured a high neck. Like Keltie’s dress, it was part-embellished part-sheer so it shone from every angle. Her cropped pixie cut and signature smokey eyes & nude lipstick finished up the singer’s look.
I’m not one for Paris Hilton, but I won’t deny she looked damn good at the Grammys! Keeping up with the part-embellished part-sheer trend on the night, the socialite wore Yousef-Al-Jasmi, which featured v-cut-like sheer panels on the bodice and waist and a very high split, with the body of the dress completely covered in silver sequins. A bouffant half-up half-down hairstyle, peeptoe sandals and smokey eyes completed her look.
Beautiful in Blue
Leslie Cartaya attended the awards in a metallic blue Yaz Gonzales designed dress, that was truly a stunning sight. Her turquoise dress featured sequins and lace designs with a scooped neckline, long sleeves and a waterfall skirt from the knees. Glitzy peeptoe heels and windswept hair completed her look.
Diana Madison opted for a midnight blue hue, wearing this self-designed plunging silk jumpsuit complete with a cape and a sash on the waist too. I actually love this look, it’s bold without being too obvious. Silvery jewels by Ruby Stella and silver sandals with smouldering eye makeup and a dewy finish rounded up her look beautifully.
Rapper and Grammy nominee Iggy Azalea wore this royal blue Giorgio Armani gown on the red carpet, which featured sheer panelled cut outs on the shoulders, waist and around the skirt that added sexiness to the plunging neckline. Her custom-made gown was worn with a braided crown hairstyle and her signature makeup & a pink lip.
Pretty in Pink & Purple
Rihanna turned heads in this oversized but fun Giambattista Valli Couture gown, with its two-tiered ruffle ballgown skirt and tiny bandeau bodice wit embellished trims. She twirled with a beaming smile, having thrown her hair up into a simple bun with her usual array of arm- and handcandy, courtesy of Chopard. Later on Riri performed ‘FourFiveSeconds’ with Sir Paul McCartney & Kanye West donning an oversized suit by Maison Martin Margiela, which you can watch here. Rihanna also won the Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for ‘The Monster’ with Eminem. Congrats Riri!
Erica Campbell attended wearing a purple caped gown with a black lace & embellished neckline trim, which really suited the singer. A voluminous hairstyle, white manicure and a black clutch rounded up her look.
Bonnie McKee looked gorgeous in her dark purple gown. Her edgy look was inspired by the 1996 classic The Craft, which I really could feel and I loved it. The Chagoury Couture plum dress featured a simple silhouette and was styled with, Neil Lane & Norman Silverman Diamonds necklaces and a gold box clutch, a matching purple lip and sideswept flicks with a smokey eye to finish. So sexy!
The Femme Suit
Giuliana Rancic surprised me with her Grammys choice, donning a jumpsuit from Inbal Dror, that featured a narrow keyhole detail and more sheer panels on the bodice, and was covered in embellishments. The slender look worked in her favour, which she styled with a slick bun, cat eyeliner and red lipstick.
Choosing to ditch the dress, Gwen Stefani attended in an über cool jumpsuit by Atelier Versace, which featured an architectural & structural embellished corset bodice, with harem-style trouser legs, which are different to the flared runway version. Her blonde hair was styled into a quiff updo with black pumps, red nails and her signature makeup to finish. Later Gwen performed ‘My Heart is Open’ with Adam Levine, which you can watch here, wearing a red Atelier Versace gown.
The HAIM sisters all wore monochrome looks for the Grammys; Este wore a crochet paneled gown by Chloé that featured half-sleeves, Danielle attended in a white tuxedo suit by Stella McCartney with nude pumps, and Alana wore a black cut out jumpsuit, also by Stella McCartney.
Opting for pink-tinged white femme suit, Charli XCX attended wearing head-to-toe Moschino, literally wearing the runway look on the red carpet. Her Barbie-inspired look even featured the pink bow tie and the glittery peeptoe heels, which the singer added a candy pink lip to.
