Christmas is always full of surprises, and this year was as surprising as ever! I received a lot of fashionable goodies and i’m very happy, grateful and thankful for them.
First up, my beauty goodies. I received two perfumes, the first is Miss Dior ‘Eau de Toilette Originale’ by Christian Dior. Miss Dior comes in a classy bottle, and has classic green chypre with galbanum and jasmine notes. This is my first Dior perfume, so i look forward to wearing it.
And the second perfume, I received from my kriskindle, is COCO ‘Eau de Toilette’ by Chanel. I love Chanel scents, this is my fourth Chanel perfume! COCO has oriental-floral scents, and is rather a sensual fragrance. Both smell really divine, and are more grown up than my previous perfumes. I think my family are trying to tell me something!
I also received mascara, Volume Effet Faux Cils Shocking by Yves Saint Laurent. I am so happy to have been given this, as when i bought their Le Teint Touche Éclat Foundation a few months ago, the sales assistant gave me a tester for this, and i LOVED it. Now testers are so small, and can only be used for a while, so now i have the full version and couldn’t be happier!
All beauty products are available in Brown Thomas.
Along with beauty goodies, i was given a fabulous selection of fashion books! Taschen’s “Fashion: A History from the 18th to the 20th Century” Volume 1 & 2, a set of two books, covering everything fashion from the last three centuries. I have yet to read through them, and they are huge and heavy books! Next is Cult Shoes by Harriet Walker, which i’ve read some of and love it. Firstly the front cover features Paloma by Charlotte Olympia, one of my all-time favourite designers. Secondly it has a whole section on Christian Louboutin; instant happiness. I now also have Footwear Design “Portfolio Skills: Fashion & Textiles” by Aki Choklat. This is an interesting book, full of tips on how to design footwear as well as info on shoes and design. Again, i think my family is telling me something. Maybe they want me to actually work in the fashion industry! Who knows..but i love the book! And finally i was also given Fashion: The Ultimate Book of Costume and Style by DK Publishing. This is another big book, and it’s full of fashion history, covering 3000 years of it! It has amazing imagery; really high quality photos and drawings of costumes and couture from the last couple of centuries. The cover also has a lovely velvet dress feature, me likey!
I also received not one, not two, but THREE bags this Christmas! This time, it’s more fun. The first two are from Cath Kidston, the first is the Shopper Tiny Rose Bag, Slate Blue. Its a very handy travel bag, that was desperately needed after my Armani one’s handles broke. I love the pattern, it’s oh-so-girly! It’s available in a few varieties. The second is similar in size, but it’s more Irish-weatherproof, as it’s outer material is of oilcloth. The Zip Up Handbag in OC Folk Flowers, Red is a perfect getaway bag for the typical Irish weather and packs as much as the former bag. Similar to the Shopper Bag, it’s available in a variety of patterns/colours.
Cath Kidston bags are available in store in Dundrum Town Centre and Kildare Village Outlet.
From my neighbours i was given this cool Jelly Monkey Tote by Paul Frank, in Red. It’s a fun and quirky bag, with plenty of space. Its material makes it durable for Irish weather, and its bright crimson colour makes it a perfect stand-out accessory.
What gifts did you receive this Christmas? I’d love to hear all about it! xx
