Shoes are a necessity and one of my personal three fashion obsessions. Whether it’s a statement heel, a summer sandal, stylish wedges, ankle boots or comfortable runners, there are so many styles to choose from. The fashion industry has truly upped its game with magnificent ideas inspiring others to create and design, and thankfully for those in Ireland & UK, the Schuh Spring/Summer 2017 collection sure has it all. Well known for being the shoe store that caters to all needs, their new collection takes notes from the runway as well as collaborative designs, giving the everyday consumer a very fashionable choice that’s also very affordable. On Tuesday (April 4) I attended their launch event in the stunning House Dublin, getting a sneak peek of some of the gorgeous styles that are now available and coming soon, and I may have fallen in love at the time. All The Sparkles
When it comes to statement shoes and standing out from the crowd, glitter and metallic hues do it best. There are gorgeous heeled styles as well as flat sneakers & sandals too. My favourite from the SS17 event are the Pink & Blue Starstruck Boots, which are peeptoe booties doused in iridescent glitter that just scream “it’s party time!” – and I want them in my life!
SS17 Sandals
When it comes to summer, sandals are rather the epitome of sunny days ahead. Living in Ireland (or the UK), we’ve got to be a bit smarter when it comes to our footwear due to the weather, with flatforms and strappy flat sandals taking reign. The furry slipper-style sandal was made popular by fashion icon Rihanna, and they’re also taking over in this season’s collection, alongside heeled styles with florals and lace up details to boot.
The Flat Pack
Not all gals want to be showing off their tootsies every day of the week, and I don’t blame you! Thankfully, the SS17 collection includes a variety of great flat & closed-toe styles including metallic details, metal buckles & chains or the oversized ribbon ties, another great inspiration by bad gal Rihanna.
Get Fit, Get Fashionable
If sneakers are your thing, well then you are in for a treat. The pastels are taking over, as well as the knit finish making for lighter but still high performance runners. Vintage styles are making their comeback too, but none of these factors deter from the runners being good for your feet and suitable for training, running or heading to the gym.
