Summer is in full swing in Ireland, and oh how I’m loving the sunny blue skies we’ve been getting. And with summer there’s always love in the air, so if you have a wedding invitation sitting on your dresser or are planning your own, and need a helping hand then please do keep reading! As you know, I’m a big fan and lover of all things wedding-related. From the bridal gown to bridesmaids dresses, flower girls with baskets of rose petals, puppies as the ring bearer, groomsmen and their antics, the Best Man speech, the music, the venue, the food, the bride & groom’s first dance and the everlasting memories…is it any wonder I’m such a romantic? Today’s post continues my Wedding Wednesday series, that will hopefully help out brides-to-be and their bridesmaids who are looking for special and reasonably priced dresses and shoes for all themes. I’ve scouted Lipsy & Co., who are also available at Next.ie with speedy deliver, as there is such a great variety of brands available that will help not only save you more bob for the big party but have all the lads (and ladies) drooling on the day!
Looking for the right dress can be tricky. For a group of bridesmaids, there are different heights, shapes & sizes to take into account, so I’m hoping I’ve made your search that little bit easier. If you’re attending as a wedding guest, do be mindful of the bride; it is her big day and you don’t ever want to upstage & upset her, so I advise to stay away from all-white, ivory & cream colours if you know the bride will wear one of the three. If you’re opting for a maxi dress, remember to wear one that doesn’t scream “I’m going to a ball”, unless the wedding theme is Oscars style, opt for a fun & flirty style that’s a little more loose than fitted. Bold colours & prints are great choices, but I don’t advise wearing scarlet red.

Soft summer pastels are plentiful with Lipsy & Co., and these are the perfect choices I recommend for your muted hue needs. Perfect for both bridesmaids and wedding guests, the variety of styles include v-neck and high neck collars, embellished or appliqué finishes in mini, midi or maxi lengths. Choose from the likes of Glamorous, Sister Jane, TFNC, Vila, and Yumi in classic colours that won’t break the bank, take a look below at the top dresses this season. Available from €42.95
Prints on Prints
Prints are always a fun option for wedding dressing, and florals are not just romantic and trendy, but genuinely timeless. Choose from a black or white body with multicoloured flowers, or opt for a more artistic style in off-the-shoulder or halterneck finishes. Fashion Union, Girls On Film, Paper Dolls, Hope & Ivy and the Jessica Wright collections are plentiful for these. Available from €41
A Lace Affair
Lace is always a great choice for such romantic occasion, and these shades of lace are perfect for a summer wedding. Always be careful when wearing lace though, it can catch on the littlest of things and so try to avoid jackets with exposed zips or jewellery that could snag & ruin your dress. I’m loving the necklines of these styles from Love Triangle, True Decadence, Paper Dolls and of course Lipsy below, and the hues are just gorgeous! Available from €62
Colour block styles are often forgotten about with pastels & lace style taking over, but these options are a great alternative to truly stand out and will definitely ensure you won’t upstage the bridal colours. Accessorize to your heart’s content to break up the solo colour and contrast your makeup for a perfect finish. Make your mark in Unique 21, Naf Naf, Frnch, Lipsy and more at Next.ie. Available from €52
No matter what kind of dress you opt for, no outfit is ever complete without a pair of killer shoes! Whether you prefer flats, high heels or wedges, there are plenty of styles to suit your look for the day, and evening if you’re a dancing-in-flats kind of gal! Ghillie lace ups are always popular, as well as ankle strap heels and cut outs, choosing from muted colours as well as colourful and metallic hues. Available from €37
