Resort 2020 – Top Killer Fashion Looks

Although it’s a strange time we’re currently in, fashion can always make me smile. Earlier in February I published my favourite looks from the Spring Ready-to-Wear 2020 Season, but now it’s time for her bigger and more glamorous sister to take centre stage.

This season’s Resort 2020 collections had so many wow moments, from many of my favourite designers. Read on to see my Top Killer Fashion Looks from this season, hopefully you’ll become inspired too!

Marchesa Resort 2020

There is something truly magical about the skills Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig have, because this Marchesa Resort 2020 collection is beyond beautiful. Romantic as always, feminine but not overly girly, this collection has all of the dresses a girl can dream of. My favourite features are the constant floral motifs and organzas, the different shades of pink throughout, the feather finish with the light tulle and lace embroidery, and the many mermaid silhouttes.

Alexander McQueen Resort 2020

The Alexander McQueen collection for this season says a lot about the legend and the brand today. Midi and mini cuts were most popular, giving plenty of shape with trumpet skirts and asymmetrical lines, as well as pops of colour against the classic black. My favourite features are the mix of leather with lace, the double-lapels and contrasting colour of the underlining of the skirts, the roayl vibes from embellished corsets and the drama added by the chunky jewellery.

Saint Laurent Resort 2020

Classic and glamorous, the Saint Laurent Resort 2020 collection gave a handful of wearable pieces, which I love to see from any designer. With blazers, silk shirts and femme suits ideal as workwear to party dresses and festival attire, it has it all. My favourite features are the feathery trims, the clean lines and luxe textures, boxy shapes, as well as the cowgirl influences and the neutral shades of the collection as a whole.

Badgley Mischka Resort 2020

For their Resort 2020 collection designer duo Badgley Mischka opted for super glam and I love them for it! I rather adore the contrast between these red carpet ready and bridesmaid appropriate designs, while their photoshoot location and set sure is something to lust after. My favourite features are well, all of the embellishments! But also the glittering materials and variety of textures, the ornate designs and asymmetrical details, and the colour palette as a whole – that turquoise caped shot is everything!.

Michael Kors Collection Resort 2020

American designer Michael Kors really knows how to make tailored looks look feminine. The collection’s photoshoot was definitely very cool and collected, with subtle nods to the rockabilly and punk movement, while making each design modern. My favourite features are the full-length blazer dress, the use of checked patterns and ruffled details, as well as the pointed creepers and often-matching handbags.

Jenny Packham Resort 2020

Ethereal and ready for the ball, Jenny Packham has delivered yet another stunning collection for the Resort 2020 season. I really love her use of colour and her signature sheer tulle and embellishments continue to live on another year. My favourite features are the cascading embellishments, the pink to champagne ombré, those bright pops of green and yellow, the ruffle details and disco sequins, and the caped designs too.
