Summer has always been my favourite season, despite what any Buzzfeed quiz tells me, and staying safe in the sun is key. And one of my favourite beauty & skincare brands Clarins makes this so easy. For a few years now, their products have been front and centre in my shelf for suncare, because of their high quality, high performance and high protection products.

The Clarins Sun Care range includes a number of new and even more innovative and effective products to help protect your skin against the sun. When it comes to using SPF, I often opt for SPF 30-50, because I know it will protect my face and skin best, especially if you’re like me and love to lie in the sun for hours on end. The range is made with the brand’s signature ingredients using a unique combination of plant extracts. These include aloe vera, plane tree, senna, pea, olive trea and baobab (native to my homeland of Madagascar), that altogether preserve the skin’s youth and beauty.

The Clarins Sun Care Gel-to-Oil SPF 50 (€25) is ideal for your body, and can be applied on dry or wet skin. With a built-in UVB/UVA/SPF 50, its formula also repels water so once applied you can still go swimming and know your skin is fully protected. Its silky texture allows you to evenly apply over your skin smoothly without leaving any white marks in sight. Available in UVB/UVA/SPF 30

Those who have been on holidays with me or with whom I’ve worked in an office environment, know I love me a good mist spray! And this Clarins Sun Care Water Mist SPF 50+ (€25) is the bee’s knees. An absolute pleasure for both your body and your hair, it’s a high-protection and refreshing mist that also moisturises your skin and is invisible on hair. And the latter is so important when walking around under the heat all day.

The Clarins Invisible Sun Care Stick SPF 50 (€25) is really great for sensitive and highly exposed areas that you may not think to protect. Although the Dry Touch Facial Sun Care UVA/UVB 50+ (€23) is great for protecting your face, this new SPF stick is better for your head and forehead, ears, nose, the tops of cheeks and the eye contour area. With just a twist of the bottom of the stick to dispense product, this travel friendly product will keep you highly protected whilst giving that barely there feel.

After sun care is just as important as your day and morning applications, and also helps your tan last longer. The new Clarins After Sun SOS Sunburn Soother Mask (€25) is an incredible, melting soothing cream-gel that has an ice-cool feel to it. If you’ve been out in the sun for too long, apply to areas of redness and hot skin and let the tropical fragrance surround you in well-being.

And for those who want to feel fully refreshed post-tanning and post-showering, the Clarins After Sun Shower Gel (€22) is the one for you. It’s ideal for using on your face, body and in your hair, as it effectively removes pollution, sunscreen, salt, odours of chlorine and sand. The results are soft, clean and supple skin, and a refreshed feel from head to toe!
