Today (May 19) marked the Royal Wedding of H.R.H. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The entire fashion media were all eyes on the coverage to see that first glimpse of the dress. There has been a lot of chatter and speculation about what the American actress would wear, from both designer and style of dress, and we sure did wait a while until those questions were answered.
Both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle arrived at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle (separately) to major reception of support, and when she stepped out of the car, I was just in awe. She looked absolutely breathtakingly beautiful.
She had the wow factor, from the glow and permanent smile to the details of her bridal gown. Her gown was designed by Clare Waight Keller, that featured a boat neckline, midi sleeves and a very long train. The gown was truly spectacular, and extremely elegant – not at all what I was expecting. Opting for a chignon hairstyle, the bride also wore the traditional veil that had lace trim detail to match the train along with a sparkling diamond-encrusted tiara from Queen Mary, and minimal jewellery.
Their wedding day was truly blessed with sunshine and blue skies, surrounded by amazing floral decor. St. George’s Chapel was adorned with huge wedding flowers and arches, attended by 600 guests. The ceremony, which was broadcasted live and which I watched from start to finish, was beautiful.
H.R.H. Prince William, Duke of Cambridge was of course by his brother’s side as Best Man, while Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge attended with their children Prince George & Princess Charlotte as part of the bridal party. Both princes wore their Blues & Royals military attire, looking extremely dapper and classy.
Royal Wedding guests included Victoria & David Beckham, Amal & George Clooney, Idris Elba & fiancée Sabrina Dhowre, Carey Mulligan & Marcus Mumford, Julia Caryey & James Cordan, Tom Hardy, Oprah Winfrey, Priyanka Chopra, as well as Meghan Markle’s co-stars of Suits Gina Torres, Sarah Rafferty, Abigail Spencer, Rick Hoffman, Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams with Troian Bellasario. Royal Family members Princess Beatrice & Princess Eugenie, and Pippa, Carole & Michael Middleton were also in attendance, as well as the bride’s mother Doria Ragland of course. Every single guest in attendance was dressed beautifully and very dapper, following the strict dress code of “day dresses and hat, lounge suits or morning suits”.
Congratulations to H.R.H. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on their marriage!
