Europe produces some of the most beautiful jewellery I have come across, and Scandinavian design is renowned. Having visited Copenhagen, Denmark before to visit my family, I’ve always been interested in their brands and designers, therefore I am delighted at how big DYRBERG/KERN is becoming in Ireland. Designing for modern and confident women, their pieces are the go-to for many Irish fashion bloggers, the nation’s stylists to the stars and jewellery enthusiasts.

The Danish brand has been designing beautiful jewellery for almost 30 years now, founded by partners in business Gitte Dyrberg and Henning Kern. Today, their collections include all types of jewellery from rings and bracelets to earrings, necklaces and watches too.

The pieces are created by hand and undergo many different processes, managed from their design studio in Copenhagen, where a skilled team of designers sketch the collections first. Thereafter, their creators bring the sketches to life by using materials like pearls, stones, crystals and leather that are sourced from all over the world, including Italy, China and Africa.

In the case of DYRBERG/KERN, it took two such individuals from two extremely different backgrounds; each with a distinctive angle on design who were drawn to each other as if by destiny. The moment Gitte Dyrberg and Henning Kern met, their unique chemistry and creative energy was instantly apparent.

Last Thursday evening (April 12), I attended the Spring/Summer 2018 unveiling, discovering their new pieces and the full collection for this season. Gold and silver, sleek bangles, statement earrings and a lot of colour, the new collection has everything and definitely something for everyone.

Their Spring/Summer colours of green, pink and blue are ideal for all occasions too, be it an upcoming wedding, special occasions with your other half, the girls or family, or statement pieces for events.

DYRBERG/KERN have ticked all the boxes with their designs this season, from dainty pavé necklaces to enamel bangles in an array of colours to their unique interchangeable rings. There are also chunky gemstone bracelets, tassel details as well as a selection of watches with different coloured faces and strap styles.
