Best Dressed at Golden Globe Awards 2018

Well, the first awards ceremony of the 2018 Awards Season kicked off the New Year, as on Sunday (January 7), the 75th annual Golden Globe Awards 2018 were held in the usual venue of The Beverly Hilton Hotel, California, hosted by comedian & TV presenter Seth Meyers. Before the show went on, my eyes were glued to the fashionable pre-show that was full of beautiful dresses, suits and overall style. Wearing black was a huge statement for the awards, that represents a lot about the Time’s Up Movement, which is supported by the question of “why are you wearing black?” rather than the red carpet typical, “who are you wearing?”. Below you’ll notice that the categories are more about the details for these beautiful black dresses, alongside my favourite quotes from the red carpet. So without further ado, here is this year’s first red carpet report and the Killer Fashion Best Dressed List for this year’s Golden Globes.

Killer Fashion Choice

The winter weeks will begin to fade soon, and to bid farewell I find this gorgeous Ralph & Russo Spring/Summer 2017 Couture gown perfectly appropriate. As well as the Golden Globes being quite the high fashion occasion, the flurry of the skirt detail, the subtle corset bodice, and that off-the-shoulder addition with the embellishments make this gown my number one choice for this red carpet evening.

“People are aware now of a power imbalance, and it’s something that has led to abuse. It’s led to abuse in our own industry, and to abuse among the domestic workers field of work. It’s in the military, it’s in Congress. It’s everywhere.” – Meryl Streep

“For me, I’m here because I hear the voices of women who said, ‘Me too,’ which one of them was me. I hear those voices, those people who are nameless, faceless every day, who don’t have a platform to talk about their sexual assault and rape. I hear those voices.” – Viola Davis

“I wear black today as a “we” not as an “I”, as a celebration of our collective power as women, as an embodiment of sisterhood, solidarity and the work being done to create structural change. We wear black for equity, parity and inclusion across all industries. We wear black to join with the voices of ALL women, particularly women of color, LGBTQX women, disabled women and all other women who have been disproportionately affected by sexual violence. TIMES UP on discrimination, harassment and abuse.” – Tracee Ellis Ross
