Best Dressed at Film Independent Spirit Awards 2017

Yesterday evening (February 25) the annual 32nd Film Independent Spirit Awards 2017 took place in sunny Santa Monica, California. A great penultimate ceremony for awards season, the evening celebrates the creative independence in visual storytelling in film, and supports a community of artists who embody diversity, innovation and uniqueness of vision. Many of the film industry attended with the blue carpet adorned with a gorgeous selection of fashion, so check out this year’s Killer Fashion Best Dressed List from the Spirit Awards!

Killer Fashion Choice

As these awards are the second last of the film awards, I would opt for something a little more demure before the big Oscars. In general the fashion for these awards are more subtle than others, and so this would be the perfect occasion to wear this Naeem Khan Spring Resort 2017 dress. I love its lattice and mesh details with the sequins and beads, and the light blue hue is just beautiful. The peekaboo lattice is a fun addition, and I do adore how the pattern swirls out from the waist and creates an asymmetrical shoulder illusion on the nude upper bodice.

The Best Dressed

Freida Pinto looked absolutely beautiful in her yellow choice by Uel Camilo. Her dress featured delicate lace appliqué on a nude mesh body giving an illusion of a strapless finish, with a v-neckline and a tulle skirt adorned with minimal motifs. The Indian beauty added silver & yellow gemstone jewels from Harry Kotlar, gold barely there sandals by Nicholas Kirwood and an ice grey marbled box clutch by Edie Parker, with a soft matte red lip, kohl-rimmed eyes and a bouffant twisted updo to finish.
