Best Dressed at Screen Actors Guild Awards 2017

As awards season continues, so does the fashion! Last night (January 29) the 23rd annual Screen Actors Guild Awards 2017 took place at the The Shrine Auditorium in Hollywood, LA. These awards are one of the ‘top dogs’ and you can always expect great fashion. Focusing on both individual performances as well as the work of an entire ensemble of a drama series, comedy series and a motion picture, the SAG Awards are one of my favourites to watch and celebrate. The red carpet styles did not disappoint either, so read on for this year’s Killer Fashion Best Dressed List!

Killer Fashion Choice

As the Screen Actors Guild awards are one of the classiest red carpets, but also one of the showstoppers, I knew this Zuhair Murad Fall 2016 Couture gown would be the right choice. From its moss green hue that would easily represent Ireland, to its glistening glitter & sequin embellishments, to the fitted bodice, short capped sleeves and the full skirt with an overlay… Isn’t it just wonderful? This dress would suit not only the occasion but my body type too.

The Best Dressed

Ariel Winter looks gorgeous as she attended the awards donning this gold bodycon gown. The full-length sleeveless number by Mikael D hugged the young actress’ curves beautifully, and it’s gold sequin design was complimented well with the sheer and lattice sections. A v-cut neckline added the subtle sexiness, and the sheer around the lower skirt showed off her gold metallic sandals from Stuart Weitzman. I love her wavy lob haircut and the orange-red lipstick with the big lashes, classic eyeliner and eyeshadow that rounded up her look perfectly, alongside an Edie Parker clutch and Neil Lane earrings.

Going for a stand out look, actress Nicole Kidman looked fabulous on the red carpet in her green sequin gown by Gucci. The low-v neckline was trimmed with sheer black that complimented the black tulle of the waterfall skirt trim, with the dress an emerald shimmer of sequins, that also featured parrot fringed designs on the shoulder & sleeves. She added Stuart Weitzman sandals to the look with Fred Leighton jewellery, an Omega watch and a clutch by Kotur. Her hair & makeup were flawless and soft, and what a gorgeous finish this was for the SAGs.

Black Beauties

Gretchen Mol attended the awards donning this sleeveless number by J. Mendel, which featured cut outs on the upper bodice with embroidered details, contrasting panels and a pleated skirt. Retro glam curls, a long disc pendant necklace with earrings by Colette, and a black & silver trim envelope clutch rounded up her look.

Donning a sleeveless look too, actress Kathryn Hahn wore a design by Adeam. The dress featured contrasting sections; one in a velvet crush-style material, the other a chiffon pleated finish. The asymmetric cut of the panels were accented by ringlets & straps, that she styled with Brian Atwood heels, a black & metal box clutch and jewellery by Jen Fischer. Wavy hair, nude lips and black eyeliner completed her look.

A newbie to the Killer Fashion red carpet, Shannon Purser looked wonderful in her voluminous off-the-shoulder gown by Christian Siriano. The folded sweetheart neckline worked perfectly with the flurry of tulle that the actress styled with a clutch by Tadashi Shoji and jewellery from Hearts On Fire, with retro glam curls and a red lip to finish.

Jewels by Buccellati and a curly sideswept hairstyle with soft pink lipstick completed her look.

Actress Julie Bowen was a gorgeous sight on the SAGs red carpet. The blonde beauty attended in this J. Mendel dress, a lattice lace dress that was all sorts of peekaboo! From the v-neckline to the architectural design of the bodice to the sheer overlay of this full-length, she certainly grabbed my attention. With Jimmy Choo heels, a white clutch by Tyler Ellis and Randall Scott Fine Jewelry, she completed this awards attire with a stylish half-up half-down straight hairstyle, exaggerated lashes and nude lipstick.
