Best Dressed at People’s Choice Awards 2017

Awards season is truly in swing as last night (January 18) the annual People’s Choice Awards 2017 took place at the traditional spot of the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. These awards are always a fun occasion, that celebrate the public’s favourite actors on television and in films, singers, comedians, presenters, personalities and more – and I also voted this year! Delighted to have seen a number of my favourite choices win their awards, and also delighted as the red carpet was a nice mix of sexy, sassy and sweetie. So without further ado, here is this year’s Killer Fashion Best Dressed List for the PCAs!

Killer Fashion Choice

As I mentioned last week, for awards season this year I’m sharing with you the designer dress I would wear, if I were attending the big ceremonies. The People’s Choice awards are a fun ceremony and so when I saw this Elie Saab Spring 2017 dress, I just knew how perfectly it would compliment the style of these awards. I love the colour of this with its all-over glitter and subtle slits, and the asymmetrical neckline would be flattering on my body shape too.

The Best Dressed

Hands down, Jennifer Lopez was the best dressed on the red carpet last night. She stepped out in a mermaid fit gown by Reem Acra, that featured an embellished upper bodice with a scooped neck and long sleeves. I love this look on the tall brunette, and her Brian Atwood heels with cocktail rings & earrings by H. Stern were perfect finishing touches. A sleek ponytail, exaggerated lashes and bronze smokey eyes with a nude glossy lip finish rounded up this awards attire perfectly. Jennifer Lopez also won the People’s Choice Award for Favorite TV Crime Drama Actress – congratulations!

Ruby Rose turned heads in this tangerine hue suit by Veronica Beard, that spoke all kinds of fierce. With her black pointed pumps by Jimmy Choo, she also added a selection of jewellery including a Jacquie Aiche body chain, Dana Rebecca earrings, and rings from EF Collection. The tall brunette upped the punk chic look with a deep dark purple lipstick, soft kohl liner and spider lashes with strong brows and a black manicure to finish. J’adore!

The Indian beauty added silver metallic sandals by Casadei and a soft pink lipstick to finish, with minimal jewels by Nirav Modi. Jane The Virgin actress Azie Tesfai attended the PCAs wearing a nude midi dress from Zhivago. The look featured a plunging neckline showing off sassy cleavage, with exaggerated shoulders and ppeplum-like pockets on the waist, which were all stylized with the brand’s signature ribbed detail. Alice + Olivia pointed heels and an art deco clutch accessorized the look, with a drop necklace and statement earrings, along with a wavy hairstyle, strong eye makeup and deep berry lipstick.

The long-sleeved bandage look featured criss cross detail over the mesh sleeves and alongside the sides of the skirt that was also worn with a neckpiece. Metallic Madness

Colombian beauty Sofía Vergara is great at giving us some va va voom, and for the PCAs this Marchesa midi dress was exactly that. The lace embellished bodice featured a subtle sweetheart neckline with straps in hues of gold & champagne to compliment her gold platform peeptoe sandals by Christian Louboutin, whereas the white trumpet skirt added more elegance to the overall look. Adding Neil Lane jewellery with a dark red lip and soft wavy hair, this was one winning look for the actress. Sofía Vergara also won the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Comedic TV Actress.

Opting for a gold & white embellished mini, actress Victoria Justice looked fabulous in her Yousef Aljasmi choice. The high neck was complimented by the sleeveless finish and short cut, with the design of the dress featuring all over beading, some of which were large pearl-like beads that shone from every angle. Silver strappy heels, sleek straight hair, a dark nude pink matte lip, exaggerated lashes and minimal jewellery rounded up her awards attire.

The textured straight neckline one-piece featured contrasting ruffled white cups on the bodice with floor-sweeping trousers hiding her heels. Styled with earrings by Eva Fehren earrings and a Charlotte Olympia clutch, the blonde beauty added a wavy lob, silver smokey eyes and soft pink lips to finish.

Classic Black & White

Liz Hernandez looked beautiful in her white longsleeve dress at the PCAs. Her House of CB choice was a v-neck tuxedo style dress that featured a leg slit showing off her satin ankle strap pointed pumps. Rocking the black & white look, Yara Shahidi stepped out in this Off White dress. The look featured a sheer overlay of black & white squares or diamonds, depending which section you were looking at, with peplum details along the sleeves and bodice too. The floor-length dress was styled with Stuart Weitzman heels, a top knot and red lipstick to finish.

Blonde beauty Melissa Rauch stepped up the fashion game donning a wide-legged jumpsuit. The look featured a lace panel along the upper bodice and peplum on the bust that also featured on the sleeves, with a velvet bow at the neck and a fitted waistband too. I really love this look, it really elongates the comedic actress. Melissa Rauch also won the People’s Choice Award alongside her castmates for Favorite Network TV Comedy for ‘The Big Bang Theory’.

Candace Cameron Bure looked wonderful in her white midi dress by Jenny Packham. The elongated version of the runway style featured sequin flowers with subtle dotted lines throughout and a keyhole detail that spoke of such elegance. The half-sleeves with the Emm Kuo clutch artistic clutch added to her barely there sandals and gemstone earrings, and I adore the exaggerated lashes, subtle blush and peach lipgloss finish with her combed back hairstyle. Her blonde beach waves, exaggerated lashes, soft smokey eyes and pink lipstick rounded up this look beautifully. Blake Lively also won the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress.

Adding colour on the red carpet, Jordana Brewster looked great in her J. Mendel choice. The sleeveless gown featured a keyhole cutout on the halterneck bodice with ruched detail on the body and sheer blue panels on the sides. The sky blue hue was complimentary of her skin tone, to which she added nude coloured gemstone drop earrings, dark eye makeup, a selection of rings and a tight ponytail to finish.

Andrea Navedo stepped out in a sun yellow v-cut dress that also featured a wrap effect on the bodice. The Julea Domani full-length look that had cutout shoulders with a soft trumpet skirt finish, styled with heels by De Blossom Shoes and a clutch by Tyler Ellis. Beach waves, strappy sandals and a subtle berry lipstick completed her look.

Flower Power

Fuller House actress Jodie Sweetin definitely made her red carpet comeback a good one donning this gorgeous rose-printed gown by Sherri Hill. The blonde beauty added a leather jacket from LPC Collection to her v-neck look, though I do wish she had left that out. A quiff ponytail with statement drop earrings from Charlie Lapson, a black miniaudiere by Annie Handbags and heels by AMI Clubwear accessorized her outfit, with exaggerated lashes and red lipstick to finish. Actress Caterina Scorsone attended in a floral appliqué midi dress designed by Erdem. The long sleeved look featured a fitting finish and was styled with soft red caged sandals, minimal jewellery and subtle makeup to compliment.

Also opting for flowers on the red carpet was actress Lori Loughlin. Her midi look by Gucci was appropriate in so many ways and I am loving that light pink trim on the pleated skirt & cuffs. The print of this dress is fun and she also kept the sequin bow on the collar, styling her look with embellished heart sandals, a gold chain handbag and pearl double back earrings. Lori Loughlin also won the People’s Choice Award alongside her castmates for Favorite Premium Comedy Series for ‘Fuller House’!
