Christmas Gift Guide: Merry Kissmas at Weir & Sons

One of my three fashion loves is jewellery. I’m such a little magpie, I just adore shiny jewels, from rings to watches, bracelets to earrings and necklaces, I could wander through a store looking at every item all day long. And with the brand new Fashion Room at Weir & Sons, this is very easy to do, because it’s full to the brim of beautiful selections from a host of brands. This festive season, the Dublin landmark is lit up and decorated, with a stunning bespoke mistletoe light display on the corner of its Grafton Street flagship store. Founded & established in 1869 by Thomas Weir, the family-run store is known for being that somewhere special to provide men, women & children with luxurious gifts all year round. At Christmas we love to spoil our loved ones, and if you are on the lookout for something extra special this year, then get to Weir & Sons for those sparkling, dazzling and lavish little presents.

COMPETITION: If you do visit the Grafton Street store, ensure you pucker up under the mistletoe light, snap it and share the photo using #MerryKissmas, tag and follow Weir & Sons on Facebook and you’ll enter a competition to WIN two Citizen watches! (Closing date: Christmas Eve, December 24)

Budget Buys (€30-100)

For those of us who can’t, or don’t want to overspend this Christmas, there are plenty of pieces to gift wrap for that someone special. Whether it’s your other half, your parents, friends or even yourself, take a look at the gorgeous jewellery below. From American brand ALEX AND ANI and their recognisable signature bangle bracelets, Swarovski and their sparkles, to Mi Moneda and their statement coin pendants, as well as select pieces from the Daisy London collection as designed in collaboration with Irish gal Laura Whitmore, there is a variety of more budget buys without losing out on the quality. Here are my favourite pieces for under €100.

Spendy Spendy (€100-200)

If your budget allows you to spend that little bit more, then the selection of gifts to choose from just got much bigger. Some of the jewellery, watches and menswear are just over the hundred-Euro mark, but then there are also unique pieces that will cost a little more. Look to Daniel Wellington watches, which have become quite the cult product with their simplistic but classy design, or look to my personal favourite brand Thomas Sabo and their variety of luxurious pieces. Irish designer Chupi also stocks at Weir & Sons now, as well as worldwide favourites DKNY and Michael Kors. Here are my favourite pieces between €100-200.

The Sky is the Limit (€200+)

Some of us do wish we had a limitless amount of money, and especially so at Christmas. So if you’re lucky enough to have those extra Euro to spend on your loved ones, then check out the gorgeous sparkles CARAT* London offers, designer goods from Gucci, watches by Dyrberg/Kern and Thomas Sabo, and Irish designer Paul Costelloe too. As for presents that are rather expensive but still thoughtful, well Bvlgari and Fifth Season will be hopefully inspire you. This category is also a goodie if any of you lovely gents (and ladies) are planning to propose to your other half this Christmas, engagement rings are a big feature at Weir & Sons. Here are my favourite pieces over €200.

The Fashion Room is available in Weir & Sons, 96-99 Grafton Street and in Dundrum Town Centre as well as online on their e-store
