I really enjoy writing about the party season and festive looks, and to get everyone all hyped up, today’s post is on perfect party makeup with one of my favourite brands, Paese Cosmetics. When it comes to the holidays and events, a good base is key to ensure your look lasts all day, and especially when you’re out dancing the night away. And then there’s the timeless favourite of sparkles & shimmer, where our eyes take center stage but also incorporating the shimmery glow on your lips and cheeks too. Read on for my top picks to create your festive season’s party looks with super affordable products, that are easily designer dupes.

Dewy Base Glow

Before going for the makeup, always remember to prepare your face by using a serum and moisturizer. The Triple Hyaluronic Acid Serum (€20) is ideal for this, with its three-step formula that also has a plumping effect to help improve the elasticity of your skin, as well as reducing visible signs of aging.

Once you’ve used your daily moisturizer and primer, foundation is always a good next step to a solid makeup look. For that, the Long Cove Fluid Foundation (€16.50) is definitely my top choice base to choose from Paese Cosmetics. It blends onto the skin very easily and creates a smooth, thin layer while giving brilliant coverage and still allowing natural freckles to come through. Set your makeup with the Rice Powder (€15), an invisible powder that mattifies and eliminates shine perfectly. Personally, I love this product because it really does eliminate any shine or oily residue and doesn’t make my makeup “white”. Finish your base makeup with the Contouring Palette (€22), available in 5 different shades. Whether you’re a pro or a newbie at contouring, (I would be the latter!), then this palette is a nifty trio of shades made up of a velvety formula and specially selected pigments. With a highlighter, mid-tone and darker-tone, contouring will be easy to create, using either contouring brushes only or a combo of brushes and a beauty blender. What’s more, you could also use this palette as a base look for your eyeshadow, given that the shades are complimentary of both warm and cold complexions, and with its five different shades to choose from, you’ll definitely find one that’s perfect for you.

Sparkles and Shine

When it comes to the ‘main look’ of your makeup, for the festive season it’s always fun to play with some sparkles. Full on glitter can be a bit much for some of us, but with shimmer, there’s nothing to be scared of. The Paese Cosmetics’ Pure Pigments (€14) are brilliant eyeshadow pigments that are very strong in colour and intensity of shimmer, that truly last all day & night making them perfect for the party season. With a range of six shades, you can easily create your eye look with ease, mix & match together, and if you’re after an even more intense look then add the Drop & Fix (€12). Using it with these pigments will not only create a sheen of eye-popping hues but also longevity of your eye makeup.

Now that you’ve got the eye colour started, round it up with a metallic liner. Linea Automatic Eyeliner (€9) is a nifty range of eyeliners, available in 5 different shades. Delivering on high intensity and great metallic pigmentation, they’ll easily add to every festive look.

Sun of Egipt (€15.99) is the brilliant bronzing illuminating powder from Paese Cosmetics, that is great for adding shimmer to your face, and assists contouring looks too. It is very strongly pigmented so do be careful when applying as you won’t want to accidentally pile it on and look like a Christmas bauble. A light dusting will apply this loose powder no problem, along the cheekbones, jaw line and around the hairline. For a true party finish, dust the bronzer along the top of your shoulders and collarbone, or go mad and apply it lightly on your arms and legs too!

Nails are sometimes forgotten when we get our party looks together, but with the Paese range it’s quick and easy. The Pearl Nail Enamel (€4.99) collection is metallic shimmer nail polishes, available in 17 shades that compliment every skin tone and makeup look.

Complete your look with a swipe of the gorgeous Balm Lipgloss (€9). A moisturizing lip gloss, this will be the perfect finishing touch that can be worn solo or atop lipstick for truly kissable lips. As well as being a lovely gloss, this product also contains rich, active ingredients including meadow foam oil (Vitamins A & E), cocoa butter, a stable form of castor oil, and natural antioxidants (Vitamins C and E). Another great way to use the Pure Pigments (€14) is on your lips! With a lip brush, apply your chosen shade on top of lip balm, lipstick or even the Balm Lipgloss for extra sparkle without overdoing it. The lighter shades (Frozen Sun, Light Gold, White Pearl) are more suitable for this and will create a beautiful look to finish your festive makeup.
