Best Dressed at MTV European Music Awards 2016

Last night (November 6) the annual MTV European Music Awards 2016 (EMAs) took place in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Unfortunately, these awards are always a little bit of a disappointment on the red carpet fashion front. With American singer Bebe Rexha taking on the hosting role, a handful of influencers and TV personalities, this year’s turn out wasn’t too bad. Take a look below at whose made the Killer Fashion Best Dressed List for the 2016 awards.

The Best Dressed

Irish gal Laura Whitmore opted for a lovely bordeaux sheer mini dress, that featured intricate beaded sequins and velvet frills. The tiered dress was styled with black & gold platform sandals, black tassel drop earrings and completed the look with soft smokey eyes, a soft brown lip and soft wavy hair. Laura looks really beautiful, and was easily the best dressed lady on the red carpet.

Black Beauties

Ann-Kathrin Broemmel looked great wearing her mini dress choice to the awards. The v-cut black sheer top-half of the dress featured all-over rhinestones with an asymmetrical ruffled trim, a fitted skirt and was styled with a gold embellished box clutch, with black & gold sandals to finish.

Red carpet moments can be magical, and for Giulia Salemi, this was definitely one of them. Her black velvet off-the-shoulder gown by Vivienne Westwood featured a subtle straight neckline with a fitted bodice and mid-slit on the skirt and finished with a train, that was all sorts of old-school glamour. The Italian beauty styled her look with same designer gold tassel jewellery, black sandals and a textured gold box clutch. Her flawless makeup and the slicked back straight hairstyle were the perfect finishing touches. Just gorgeous!

Model Winnie Harlow attended the EMAs wearing a black sheer gown by Roberto Cavalli. Styled with Casadei heels, a flawless hairstyle and smokey eyes, the tall brunette worked the EMAs red carpet beautifully.

Before she took centre stage to host the EMAs, American singer Bebe Rexha stepped out on the red carpet donning a black dress by Julien MacDonald. The v-cut neckline was complimented by a choker piece and mid-split on the skirt, with silk trims, glistening beaded panels and mesh netting too that hugged the blonde’s curves perfectly. Simple black eyeliner, a soft pink lip and relaxed waves completed her look.

Top model Jourdan Dunn looked wondrous as always, attending the awards in black sheer lace that glistened from all angles. The metallic-threaded long-sleeve dress featured sheer panels and subtle geometric stripes with a high-neck finish. Straight hair, pink-purple smokey eyes and a nude lip rounded up this look.

Metallic Madness

Sporting a very fun autumnal look, Becca Dudley stepped out in a sequin-clad gown by none other than high street online favourite ASOS! The blonde beauty’s dress featured statement floral & bird motifs in colourful sparkling sequins on a sheer dobby mesh overlay, worn with a black bodysuit underneath. Her black platform shoes added extra height to her look, needed for this maxi, with an effortless ponytail and sparkling jewellery to finish. Click here to buy Becca Dudley’s MTV EMAs dress!

Singer Charli XCX stayed true to her retro style wearing a House of Holland discosequined two-piece ensemble with an Emma Brewin faux fur and shoes by Nicholas Kirkwood. Her black hair was styled into a ponytail with bangs, with a contrasting red lipstick and a glittering choker completing the look.

Pretty in Purple

Nina Dobrev looked beautiful in her lilac Elie Saab gown, that she styled with Soebedar shoes and a Jimmy Choo clutch too. The sleeveless halterneck was a fitted full-length that was accessorized with white & silver jewellery, straight hair and purple smokey eyeshadow and a soft pink lip to finish.

Opting for a mix of colours, singer Tallia Storm attended the Dutch-held awards donning Fendi. Her look featured a delicate sheer lace blouse with floral embroidery, and a purple mini skirt with ruffle side details, with both the top and skirt featuring lilac & burgundy trims. Her light blue thigh-high boots were also by Fendi and also featured the ruffle details, that she accessorized with an oversized faux fur stole. The blonde’s makeup was truly flawless; soft smokey eyes, exaggerated lashes and perfect eyeliner, strong brows and a deep berry lip to compliment her awards attire.

Soft Monochrome

Stefanie Giesinger’s look for the EMAs has me rather torn, because her cream & black dress by Bibi Bachtadze is just gorgeous and the details are so romantic. The black lace mini dress was teamed with a cream low v-cut maxi that also featured a mid slit on the skirt, showing off the questionable black leggings-like sandals. The cut outs on the shoes really throw off the whole look, simple sandals would have been a much better choice. Tousled curls, simple makeup & jewellery and a black manicure completed the German model’s look.

Swedish singer Zara Larsson opted for a full French lace look, channeling a vintage feel for the awards. Her high-neck dress by Ermanno Scervino had a tea-length cut with full sleeves and a fitted bodice that gave the blonde beauty a gorgeous shape. Black open-toe sandals, her natural curls and dark eye makeup completed this awards attire. Zara Larsson also won the MTV EMA Award for Best New Act.
