Wedding Wednesday: Dresses.ie

Dresses.ie Killer Fashion NirinaLate summer weddings are as romantic as any other time of the year. The leaves are starting to turn, it’s cooling down that tad bit but romance is still very much alive. With love in the air and weddings to attend, what is a girl to do? I’m a big fan and lover of all things wedding-related so if you have an invitation that you’ve ticked you’ll attend or you’re planning your own and need a helping hand, then please do keep reading! From the bridal gown to bridesmaids dresses, flower girls with baskets of rose petals, puppies as the ring bearer, groomsmen and their antics, the Best Man speech, the music, the venue, the food, the bride & groom’s first dance and the everlasting memories…is it any wonder I’m such a romantic? Today’s post continues my Wedding Wednesday series, that will hopefully help out brides-to-be, their bridesmaids & guests who are in need of something special that’s also reasonably priced. I’ve had a look through Irish online store Dresses.ie, as there is a lovely variety of styles available to help not only save the cash but have you stand out, without upstaging the bride!

Looking for the right dress is always a tricky task. For a group of bridesmaids there are different heights, shapes & sizes to take into account, so I’m hoping I’ve made your search that little bit easier. If you’re attending as a wedding guest, do be mindful of the bride; it is her big day and you don’t ever want to upstage & upset her. If you happen to know if the bride is wearing all-white, ivory or cream, generally I advise to stay away from these colours. Maxi dresses are a great shout but do remember to wear one that doesn’t scream “I’m going to a ball”, unless the wedding theme is Oscars style. Lace, pastels and bold colours are great choices, but I don’t advise wearing scarlet red (darker red hues are fine though).

Prints on Prints

Prints are always a fun option for wedding dressing, and florals are not just romantic and trendy, but genuinely timeless. Choose from a black or white body with multicoloured flowers, or opt for a more artistic style in off-the-shoulder or halterneck finishes. AX Paris & Chi Chi London collections are plentiful for these. Available from €15

A Lace Affair

For a feminine touch, lace is always a great choice. These hues are perfect for a late summer & autumn weddings with respectable lengths and enough peekaboo to keep the Mother of the Bride smiling. When wearing lace, always be careful as it can catch on the littlest of things so do try to avoid jackets with exposed zips or jewellery that could snag & ruin your dress. I wore the AX Paris lace dress below, for my 26th birthday partyAvailable from €27

Color Block

Color block styles are a great way to amp up your accessories rather than letting the dress take all of the credit. From jumpsuits to striped midis and an ankle-grazing style, there are plenty of choices available. Heels or flats, hair up or down, there really are so many ideas to opt for. Available from €12
