Last week on Tuesday (July 19) I was invited to attend two fabulous events for one of my favourite jewellery brands, Thomas Sabo. Launching their brand new Autumn/Winter 2016 collection, the afternoon event took place in The Marker Hotel, the same gorgeous hotel I visited a few weekends ago with Cookie FM. I love this venue for the Thomas Sabo events, because they really know how to make their clientèle feel special. Behind closed doors, the afternoon included an informative presentation by the Thomas Sabo team and collection displays. Caitriona Brennan of Revolve PR gave us a run-through of the collection before I took my seat for the presentation, which was very enjoyable and introduced the concept behind the #TogetherForever and #TogetherInDublin theme (the latter a special hashtag in Ireland that quickly became a Trending Topic on Twitter!).
The theme for this new season’s collection is of being together, embodying passion, emotional connections & confidence, as well as ensuring approach-ability & authenticity between the brand and their customers. The 360° customer-focus is key to Thomas Sabo as the brand and story are essentially what they want to portray, and do so with the different layers of storytelling that is told through their visuals as well as the jewellery. They understand that people love to ROPO (that’s research online, purchase offline!), hence why the brand has put in hard work into their image and how Thomas Sabo is represented.
The Glam & Soul collection now features 16 new diamonds designs, taking the customer on a journey. The styles include dainty and romantic pieces debuting Icons, the statement animal motifs and interlinked ring designs in Sterling Silver, Rose Gold and Yellow Gold. What’s great about the new season’s collection is that the price point bridge between Sterling Silver and the gold jewellery has reduced, making the latter styled more affordable than before. But if you’re on the hunt for that truly magnificent & luxurious piece, then the former Icons collection is your go-to, with its new elephant designs in beautiful black & silver or colourful rose gold, both with amazing artful ornamentation.
Within this new season, Love Bridge brings out a new style that is more classic with chain bracelets & pendants. Introducing the brand new Love Coins, these are a fresh addition to the line with discs and hearts on silver & rose gold, which are also engravable on both sides. Similar to the charm bracelet, the new Love Bridge bracelets can hold numerous Love Coins that are either personalized or pre-engraved, with ready to wear jewellery available for under €50. The symbols on pre-engraved coins include the infinity, tree of life or a fully pavé set disc and with your own engraving on reverse and 68 variations already available, this gives the customer over 13,000 unique engravable combinations! Spinning coin necklaces are also available, as well as double chain and the original engravable bar pieces.
Triangle Diamonds is a new collection that is bound to make waves across the board. These designs are edgy with their urban street style, a fusion of triangles and diamonds, that bring together plenty of fashion trends. Stackable rings are one of my personal favourite designs from this collection, but necklaces, earrings and bracelets are also part of it and frankly they’re all beautiful. Available in only Sterling Silver or Yellow Gold, this selection is perfect for young women & millennials and are great gift ideas for fashion-forward individuals.
This season’s capsule collection, Oriental Chic Prana, embodies far-eastern art and traditional paisley as well as life forces is a unique series to the brand. High in both quality & detail, the great craftsmanship in this line is evident in every product. Reflective of its luxury price points, there are pendants, necklaces, rings and charms dotted with diamonds & colourful gems in Sterling Silver or Rose Gold finishes, with ready to wear pieces available for under €100 – a stand-out all on its own. Nile Treasures is also a new collection, that’s truly gorgeous in its own right. Inspired by Egyptian symbols with a contemporary feel, the collection is very unisex with its black pavé-set pendants, rings, earrings and bracelets. As well as delicate pieces, there are statement pieces in Yellow Gold & blue combinations and even a pair of scorpion earrings! Lastly their Watches collection has been updated with an introduction to more sporty styles, bigger faces and mesh bracelets for that sleek finish.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; Thomas Sabo is one brand with many different looks, a wide product range to suit all of their different customers tastes & styles.
Later that evening I also attended an exclusive dinner hosted by Thomas Sabo for select press & bloggers. It was held in Medley by Andrew Rudd, Fleet Street, with gorgeous vases of flowers on the tables, in the stylish chic setting in the heart of Dublin City. We were treated to a tasty three-course dinner with wine (though I’m abstaining from alcohol), and plenty of chatter about all things jewellery and fashion. To start we were served Chili Tomato & Coriander Soup with homemade Guinness bread; as the main I opted for the Roast Rib of Beef; and to finish we were served a duo of desserts, a Crushed Almond & Orange Cake & Croatian Chocolate Brownie. The food, prepared by renowned chef Andrew Rudd & his excellent team of chefs, was lovely from start to finish and I’ll definitely be back again. During the evening, poet Stephen Clare created bespoke poems for everyone in attendance. His unique work process consisted of the individual telling him only a few facts, secrets or memories about themselves, he would ask whether the poem was for anyone in particular and what topic you would like it to be about. I chose ‘Island Girls’ for my Mam, because my family background is of two islands, Ireland & Madagascar, and also because my Mam loved travelling. The poem which Stephen typed out for me, on Thomas Sabo paper and on an old-school typewriter, is just wonderful. I will cherish it and definitely frame it! After all of the photos, food & chats with other guests, I was gifted with the Dazzling Diamonds Sterling Silver Collection bracelet at the end of the day! My photo also featured on Goss.ie, alongside my best friend Kassi of Just Kassi – thanks for the feature!
Thank you to Jenny, Caitriona, Sarah & Jen of Revolve PR for the invite and beautiful organisation, to the Thomas Sabo team for their time & generous gift and the staff at both The Marker Hotel & Medley!
