Best Dressed at BAFTA Television Awards 2016

Last night (May 8th), the annual British Academy Television Awards 2016 (BAFTA TV), in partnership with House Of Fraser, took place at the Royal Festival Hall in London. The evening was blessed with strong sunshine as we experienced the long-awaited heatwave, making for a glorious night on the red carpet, and gosh did the ladies & gentlemen really step it up for these awards. Celebrating the best in British television, Irish legend and presenter & comedian Graham Norton hosted the ceremony, that put on a great show televised yesterday evening. But as always, my main focus is on the fashion, so let’s see whose made the Killer Fashion Best Dressed List this year.

BAFTA Television Awards 2016

The Best Dressed

Alesha Dixon looked absolutely gorgeous, in this sunshine yellow silk gown by Michael Costello. The open front of the bodice that was cinched in by a metal waistbelt, was complimented by a twisted halterneck design, with a fishtail skirt finish that suited the tall presenter & singer perfectly. She added an array of gold jewellery by Joanna Laura Constantine, including caged rings, a cuff bracelet and earrings, and kept the beauty look subtle with soft gold eyeshadow, big lashes and nude lipstick to finish. Her voluminous bob haircut and dark red manicure were the ideal finishing touches for her evening look. I am in love!

Young actress Eleanor Worthington Cox looked divine in her baby pink halter gown. The BAFTA TV nominee glided down the red carpet, wearing this satin dress with a scooped halter neckline and silk waistband, that cinches in on the soft pleated flowy skirt. A fuss-free ponytail, dewy barely there makeup and soft pinks to finish, this was the perfect look for the tall actress.

On the Silver Screen

Donning a custom creation, Rochelle Humes stepped out in this white gown by Marco Capaldo. The bespoke design featured a white v-cut slip dress made of crepe silk, with a contrasting champagne stripe-textured underskirt panel and a thigh-high cut. Styled with a matching designer choker neckpiece, and jewellery by one of my personal favourites, CARAT London, the singer & presenter finished with a slicked down low ponytail and sandals by Saint Laurent. I love this look, it’s very clean and very chic.

Looking absolutely stunning, Lucy Mecklenburgh attended in a strapless silver brocade gown by SARELLE. The full gown was the perfect fit for the brunette beauty, with which she styled CARAT London jewellery, a dazzling sqaure clutch from Harlem Carter and heels by Kurt Geiger. Flawless makeup and a chic updo completed her look.

Kara Tointon opted for silver, donning this Gatsby-style plunging dress by Amanda Wakeley that featured intricate beaded embellishments on the bodice with a silk waistband and sheer-striped skirt finish, the brunette was perfectly dressed in every way. A mini clutch by Thomas Lyte, jewels by JAPR London, red lipstick and an updo rounded up her awards attire.

Also choosing a silver embellished look, presenter Amanda Holden joined the party in this beautiful Tony Ward Couture gown. The sleeveless scooped neckline dress featured cascading bead & sequin embellishments, with a striking tulle embellished cape. A chic chignon inspired by Grace Kelly, jewels by Saqqara Jewels and Giuseppe Zanotti heels completed this look.

Tess Daly looked gorgeous at the awards, wearing a white one-shoulder dress by Zeynep Kartal. The custom-made silk couture look featured a straight neckline and thin metal waistbelt, with a wrap detail on the skirt. She styled Pandora jewellery and silver strappy sandals to her white-hot attire, with sideswept glamorous curls, exaggerated lashes & nude lipstick to finish. Fabulous!

A Splash of Colour

Sporting a blue, black & gold strapless, Ferne McCann attended in this fun column dress. The look featured leaf & swirl printed motifs in a fitted finish that added great height to the presenter & author, with which soft wavy hair and a top knot completed the look.

Going for yellow, Fearne Cotton worked a boho look at the awards. The dress featured an open v-neckline, sheer sleeves with long cuffs, button detailing down the front of the skirt with a lace overlay on the body and a necktie to finish. Ever so stylish, she added a messy plait to the side, a dazzling box clutch and barely there makeup to finish.

Our sole lady in red on the night, Olivia Grant looked wondrous in her lace gown by Carolina Herrera. The v-cut scalloped neckline and fitted bodice made for an elegant design, that her sideswept curly hair, minimal makeup and Merola London jewellery were the perfect additions to.

Helen George looked lovely donning this strapless dress by Marchesa. The straight neckline contrasted with the slight waterfall skirt trim that showcased the tulle underlay, giving us a glimpse of her open toe sandals from Office Shoes. The kaleidoscope blue & white patterned gown was styled with jewellery by Apples & Figs Jewellery and JAPR London with a royal blue snakeskin clutch by Amish London. Relaxed curls, red lipstick with a dewy makeup finish and this blonde actress was all set.

Opting for a big gown, actress Genevieve Gaunt stepped out in this wide-v dress that featured a full waterfall skirt with light green & pink floral print all over. A chic upstyle, metallic barely there sandals and smokey eyes rounded up her awards-appropriate look.

Eleanor Tomlinson opted for something rather different to the others, standing out in this dark olive green creation. The dress featured sheer lace sleeves and on the upper body, with a v-neck velvet bodice and nature embroidery, and a silk pleated full-length skirt. The red-haired beauty kept the rest of her look minimal, with a straight hairstyle and minimal jewels, finishing up with subtle smokey eyes and pink lips.

Pretty in Pink

Petite beauty Maisie Williams attended the BAFTA TV Awards donning this pretty pink frock with its all-over sequin finish. The slight bubble of the skirt, the button down on the bodice and the subtle choker necklace added to the youthful look which the brunette actress completed with beige pumps.

Irish gal Angela Scanlon looked sweet in her pink & monochrome printed midi dress by Emilio de la Morena. The black velvet straps & waistbelt added a nice contrast, and along with her silver block sandals by Christian Louboutin & curled fringe upstyle, the porcelain-skinned presenter was all set.

Black Beauties

Samia Ghadie wore a black strapless gown by Suzanne Neville, as she attended in this deep sculpted v-sweetheart gown, with a sheer insert on the bust and a cinched-in embellished waistband. The fitted gown was styled with a clutch bag, a mid-parted fringe updo and minimal jewellery.

Humans actress Gemma Chan decided to go for high street, donning River Island on the red carpet! This is a Killer Fashion first to report, and I love it! The brunette’s choice proves that you don’t have to splash the cash to look the part, as this printed midi gown looks as high fashion as any. The cut outs on the shoulder and slight keyhole with a slight waterfal skirt trim, a clutch by Lulu Guinness and jewels from Maria Black Jewellery all added to this boho vibe perfectly. Soft waves, rouge cheeks and soft pink lips with barely there sandals completed her look.

Opting for a jumpsuit instead, Irish presenter Laura Whitmore rocked the red carpet in a Lauren by Ralph Lauren one piece, that also featured a cut out on the bodice. The slightly flared & sleeveless look was styled with a panelled clutch from BIBA and gold bangles from her Laura Whitmore X Daisy jewellery collection.

Claudia Winkleman also attended in a jumpsuit, choosing this straight strapless one piece with low pockets and a straight leg finish. Ivory pointed pumps, a black mini clutch and her signature makeup made for a great red carpet look.

Making a statement in black, Alexandra Roach looked fabulous as she walked the red carpet in this plunging jumpsuit by LaMania. The halterneck look was accented by a sheer black cape from the back straps for subtle dramatic flair, that worked brilliantly with her Spring London jewels and Christian Louboutin heels. Red lipstick, a sleek chignon and barely there makeup completed her awards attire.

The Silk Seas

Attending in a dark slate blue gown, singer Katherine Jenkins looked divine in her silk cowl gown by Suzanne Neville that featured an open back and slight train too. She kept her look simple & sweet with a low hairbun, jewellery by Tiffany & Co. and Kwiat, black eyeliner & big lashes, smokey eyes and a soft pink lip.

Birdy stepped out in a teal gown that fetaured a sheer overlay on the bodice & keyhole cut out too. The fitted gown was styled with a net hairpiece, long wavy tresses and red lipstick. To finish the singer added a selection of rings and black nail polish.
