On Sunday night (April 10th), the annual MTV Movie Awards 2016 took place in Burbank, California, returning to the Warner Bros. Studios after 11 years, and was hosted by Central Intelligence co-stars Kevin Hart & Dwayne Johnson. This awards show is always full of laughs, with great performances, great hosting and great fashion. And though this list includes some gorgeous gowns, I was a bit disappointed with the overall style on the red carpet. Although these awards have a more casual vibe, I was hoping for more wow-factors. That said, let’s roll on with this year’s Killer Fashion Best Dressed list for the MTV Movie Awards!
The Best Dressed
Hands down, Brittany Snow stole the show for me in her red caped mini dress. The Pitch Perfect 2 actress & singer looked fab in the low v-cut dress by Haney, which she matched with red lace up sandals from Stuart Weitzman and a gold Ethan K metal clutch too. She completed her look with minimal jewellery including a necklace & ring by Zoe Chicco, more rings by Tara Hirshberg and earrings by EF Collection. Straight tucked-back hair, exaggerated lashes and neutral makeup rounded up Brittany’s stellar look.
I also really loved Kelley Jakle‘s look for the MTV Movie Awards, as she attended in a quilted powder blue mini by Brooke Matterson London. Joining her Pitch Perfect 2 co-stars on the red carpet, I love the shape of this hourglass finish with subtle button detail on the hips and a clean scoop neckline, that work brilliantly with her gold clutch & sandals from Alexandre Birman, and minimal jewels from Jorge Adeler and Dana Rebecca. Her relaxed updo, with big lashes & pink lipstick rounded up this look perfectly.
All smiles on the red carpet, Liz Hernandez looked great in a low plunging dress by Australian brand Lexi Clothing. Her dress also featured a thigh-high mid cut on the skirt that showed off her Stuart Weitzman sandals, which was also styled with a choker necklace.
Attending with her sister, Vanessa Marano wore a textured playsuit that featured lapels and button details with a chain, for a business-like vibe. Teaming her look with black platform pumps and a spike-adorned clutch, the young brunette looked great with a slick ponytail and a berry lipstick.
Also wearing black, Pitch Perfect 2 actress Chrissie Fit attended in this plunging gown from Lexi Clothing. The short cut dress also featured a sheer overlay that she wore with gold-embellished Greymer heels, a Sara Battaglia clutch and jewellery by Melinda Maria. Dark eye makeup with nude lips and straight hair completed her look.
Top model Gigi Hadid joined the party in a Versace outfit donning this striped suit with a lime & black striped shirt and an Anine Bing lace bra peeking out. She added a lot of jewellery to her look including Lili Claspe, Doves by Doron Paloma,Borgioni, Le Vian, Sutra, Antonini and Harry Kotlar! Her fringed straight hairstyle and cat liner eyes & nude lips were the perfect finishing touches, alongside barely there sandals from Tom Ford and a gold & black clutch.
Stepping onto the red carpet in velvet, Cara Delevingne attended wearing a Balmain two-piece look. The long-sleeved bodice featured sheer panels and with the high-waisted pants it created an illusion she wore a jumpsuit. Black patent heels by Jimmy Choo and jewellery from Hoorsenbuhs, complete with top liner and a dark nude lip colour, side parted wavy hair and Cara was good to go.
A Splash of Colour
Comedienne Grace Helbig looked gorgeous at the awards, donning this lilac short-sleeved dress by Elizabeth & James. The mini dress featured cut outs on the waist that she styled with an ice cream truck bag by Kate Spade and black pumps. Her silver shimmery eyeshadow & cat liner were perfect compliments to this look with a relaxed wavy hairstyle and frosted soft pink lips to finish.
Looking nothing but gorgeous, actress Chloe Bridges was all smiles as she attended with boyfriend Adam DeVine. Wearing a magenta pink hue, the young brunette gave us plenty of leg in this Ludmila Corlateanu mini dress. The Romanian-designed red & black floral-printed cocktail dress featured a wide v-cut neckline with deep pleating at the back of the skirt and a ribbon finish. She added white Loriblu sandals to her look, which have a blue undersole, a voluminous ponytail and flawless makeup. Just gorgeous!
Carrie Keagan also was in attendance, donning this brilliant white jumpsuit with a black caged overlay and shirt collar finish, by Emilio Pucci. Her braided bouffant updo was brilliant styling for the look, adding to the fierce finish. Christian Louboutin pumps and statement earrings & bangle bracelets by Coomi Jewels, this was one great look.
Laura Marano attended with her sister, wearing a white strapless mini dress from House of CB that featured a v-cut neckline to compliment the v-cut on the skirt. Pink cross-strap sandals by Jimmy Choo and an envelope clutch by Saint Laurent, she rounded up her look with voluminous curled hair & braids, big lashes and soft pink lips. Donning black & white, Nargis Fakhri mixed high street and designer as she wore this sleeveless look to the awards. Her black halterneck top by Forever 21 fewatured an open strappy back that she teamed with a mesh leather diamond puzzle midi skirt by Jonathan Simkhai. To complete, dark smokey eyes & exaggerated lashes, pink lips and a blushed makeup finish added to the brunette beauty’s awards attire, along with nude barely there sandals.
Looking every bit the part, Jillian Rose Reed attended in a black & white watefall gown that was just gorgeous. Her white dress was adorned with black leaf-like motifs by ASILIO, with a high-low skirt trim that showed off her red sandals from Shoe Dazzle. Styled with a Fiona Kotur clutch and vampy makeup, and long soft wavy hair, this was one great red carpet look.
TV presenter Renee Bargh looked fabulous as she worked a white tux pantsuit by Australian designer Natalie Chapman to the awards. Donning a jacket & tapered pants with a choker neckpiece, the look was styled with nude pointed pumps and minimal accessories that was a perfect finish. With slicked back straight hair and dark eyes & nude lips, Renee was easily one of the best dressed on the night.
Actress Lizzy Caplan attended in a sequin-clad dress by Sally LaPointe. Her look was styled with Tamara Mellon shoes, a box clutch by Charlotte Olympia clutch, jewellery by Ashley Pittman and Ileana Makri with kohl-rimmed eyes & pink lipstick to finish.
Opting for something more statement-worthy, singer Halsey stepped onto the red carpet in this nude embellished custom-made three-piece look by Idan Cohen. Her jacket was adorned with sequins & gemstones all over, worn with a pavé seashell-like bra and plain high-waisted shorts. Styled with a Loriblu gold clutch and gold metallic sandals by Le Silla, jewellery from Effy Jewelry, Sabrina B. Jewelry & Amanda Marmer, her styling team did such a fabulous job. It’s very Spring-forward, and very daring. I love it! Click here to buy Halsey’s shoes!
