Best Dressed at iHeartRadio Music Awards 2016

Last night (April 3rd), the third annual iHeartRadio Music Awards 2016 took place at the The Forum in Inglewood, California and was hosted by superstar singer & dancer Jason Derulo. Following on from its previous two years, the night was full of stellar performances, jokes and most importantly, awards! But before the show could go ahead, there was the all-important red carpet pre-show, which was a mix of the good, the great and the ‘what were you thinking?’! The men really lead the way this year, with so many well-dressed gents, but the ladies did give them a run for it with monochrome big on the night, femme suits and plenty of plunging necklines & cut outs. So who made the Killer Fashion Best Dressed list at this year’s iHeartRadio awards?

The Best Dressed

Zendaya worked the red carpet in a red velvet suit & leather bustier bralette. I absolutely love this look – it screams killer fashion! As I’m a fan of velvet, I really love the texture and the pants even had leather backs & side stripes for a fashionable twist. The singer & actress teamed her look with Le Vian earrings and rings by Pasquale Bruni, keeping it cool with black leather boots, smokey eyes and nude lips to finish. Just gorgeous!

TV personality Becca Tilley looked wonderful in her white lace two-piece ensemble on the red carpet. From her sleeveless high-neck crop top and the high-waisted fitted pants, to the gem drop earrings, gold cuff and nude fold over clutch, Becca had this look perfected to the last detail. I also adore her hair & makeup, it was just right for both the awards and the Spring season. Absolutely love this!

White Hot

Actress & dancer Julianne Hough looked great in her white mini dress at the awards. The blonde beauty attended in Jill Stuart, donning a halterneck LWD that featured floral appliqué, which was styled with a white-grey Edie Parker box clutch and off-white heels by Casadei. I love the finishing touches of the bouffant hairstyle and simply beautiful makeup, complete with a white manicure and EF Collection earrings.

Cheryl Burke attended in a white plunging jumpsuit that featured nautical button details around the waist & hips. She didn’t add a necklace to her look, which I quite like, opting for a straight hairstyle, exaggerated lashes & nude lipstick with a gold manicure and delicate rings to finish.

Black Beauties

Going for black & white, singer Demi Lovato was in attendance wearing this power jumpsuit by Alexander McQueen. The look featured white fold overs on the black suit-like jumpsuit, as well as white under-cuffs and button detail around the waist & on the shoulders. Working the boss look, the brunette singer added a deep red lip with subtle smokey eyes and peeptoe heels by Prada and jewellery from Loree Rodkin & Switch. Later in the show, Demi performed her song ‘Stone Cold’ with country singer Brad Paisleywhich you can watch here, changing into a black Balmain tuxedo dress.

Singer Meghan Trainor attended the awards in a fully sequined midi dress by Donna Karan, complete with long sleeves and added Jimmy Choo fringed heels to her look. Later on in the show, Meghan performed ‘No’, which you can watch hereShe changed into a red & black look by Maya Krispin for the performance.

Opting for a boss-lady look, Kelly Osbourne walked the red carpet in this Mason by Michelle Mason mini LBD. Her long sleeve dress featured a low-cut neckline & front zip, although I commend her for wearing a black bustier underneath for added sophistication. Kelly upped her fashion game with a cane, black pointed pumps and long tousled curls in her light lavender hue.

Taylor Swift stepped out in a fully sequined Saint Laurent jumpsuit, complete with an oversized patent belt and black platform booties by Giuseppe Zanotti. Though I am not completely convinced by this look, Taylor pulls it off as she always does with minimal jewellery by Vhernier and Melinda Maria Jewelryand soft pink smokey eyes. Taylor Swift also won big on the night, receiving iHeartRadio Music Awards for Album of the Year for ‘1989’, Best Tour, Female of the Year and Most Meme-able MomentClick here to watch her friend & singer Justin Timberlake present the award for Best Tour.

Lady in Red

Selena Gomez joined her besties on the red carpet, looking hot in a side cut out jumpsuit by Mugler. The sleeveless orange-red look was teamed with choker by Fenton Fallon, with silver open toe heels by Giuseppe Zanotti and a black Jimmy Choo clutch. Although she looks great, and this look is interesting & slightly sexy, I’m still a little bored by it. Selena Gomez also won an iHeartRadio Music Award for Triple Threat – Singer/Actor/Dancer.

Working the lady in red look, model & actress Karrueche Tran opted for this leather mini dress that also featured pom-pom details on the shoulders for a fun & flirty finish. The fitted bodycon was styled with red & silver strappy heels, a sleek high ponytail and smokey eyes to finish. I really do love this look, and Karrueche just embodies sexy & cool here. Just stunning!

A Splash of Colour

Meagan Good attended the awards with her husband, donning a wide-cut jumpsuit by House of CB. Debuting a short bowl haircut, the actress was full of love for her other half as they smiled & posed together. Meagan added a white & gold clutch to her look with pavé drop earrings, and the season beauty trend of smokey eyes & nude lips. Click here to buy Meagan Good’s jumpsuit!

Looking lovely in a bright print, Olivia Holt walked the red carpet wearing Genny. The colourful playsuit featured cityscape print in hues of mint & turquoise with black trims and billowing sleeves that she styled with caged heels by Schutz. Opting for a neutral makeup finish with an updo hairstyle, the blonde beauty added Dana Rebecca earrings and Melissa Kaye rings, with an Edie Parker clutch to finish.

Looking fresh after her collaborative album release with Big Sean for Twenty88singer Jhené Aiko looked boho chic in this shirt-trimmed jumpsuit. The flared look had a colourful abstract pattern to it, contrasting with the white shirt feature, that cinched in on her waist giving the petite beauty quite the hourglass shape. With a wavy hairstyle, the aforementioned beauty trend of smokey eyes & nude lips, gold jewellery and a gold minaudière, Jhené nailed this look.

Courtney Bingham looked rather sassy in her dark purple printed asymmetrical dress. Her dress featured a peplum detail on the bust, a lace trim along the skirt which had a thigh-high cut and black waistband & ribbon straps to finish too. I really like the styling for this look; with a hot pink Saint Laurent monogrammed clutch and nude triple strap sandals by Giuseppe Zanotti, hoop earrings and a fun top knot hairstyle with bangs, this was one fabulous awards attire.

Also going for a printed look, Renee Bargh attended in this off-the-shoulder mini dress. It featured flared short sleeves with a floral print that she wore with nude pointed pumps, a gold choker necklace and opted for a braided updo.

Serayah stepped out with friends Taylor Swift & Selena Gomez for the evening, wearing a fully embellished mini dress by Balmain. The newly blonde actress’ dress featured white, gold & peach colours that are perfect for the Spring season, which she perfectly styled with an embellished box clutch and nude barely there sandals.

The Couples

You know I love a well-dressed couple, and I adore when they colour co-ordinate. Mario Lopez and wife Courtney Mazza stepped out in shades of black; while couple Gabriella Waheed & Emmanuel Sanders looked on point in matching white attire; and husband & wife DeVon Franklin & Meagan Good looked cute as a button in their grey and nude outfits.

Menswear

As I mentioned in the into, the gents did a stellar job on the red carpet with a lot of casual cool outfits, bomber & biker jackets as well as denim and suits. My favourite looks included Jake Miller in his dark green velvet biker; iHeartRadio Music Awards host Jason Derulo whose signature and timeless red & black was back again, (and he also changed outfits a few times during his hosting role); Diplo and Pete Wentz who both looked great in their grey suits; 2 Chainz and his statement leopard-printed coat; and working the casual suits, Mr. Hudson and James Maslow in respectively wore royal blue and charcoal camouflage perfectly.
