Dresses.ie Spring 2016 Preview

Last month (March 2nd) I attended the Dresses.ie Spring 2016 press event, which was held in Sam’s Bar, Dawson Street for a preview of what’s to come. Showcasing new styles for the Spring season, the collection boasted plenty of trends including shirt dresses in fun prints, 50s inspired romantic florals and 70s inspired styles including faux fur & suede that are perfect for the festival season, as well as sporty luxe & peekaboo mesh details, and classic party dresses were plentiful too. Not only does this online retailer stock gorgeous dresses, but it now also caters to elegant eveningwear, cosy outerwear, killer kicks and eye-popping denims too. This was all evident in their full-on fashion show, alongside breakfast bites and morning cocktails to get us wide awake for the day.

Stylist Brian Conway was also on hand, unveiling the Spring 2016 collection with that began with casual chic and ended with a bang of glam, while the invited press & bloggers enjoyed a Parisian-style breakfast. Some of my favourite looks included this Floral Mesh Striped Skater Dress, which has a gorgeous exotic print and features striped mesh lines throughout with a fitted finish. I love the styling of the orange-red fringed barely there sandals too, this look is perfect for special occasions & fancy lunches out! One of the big trends for the season is shirt dresses, and this AX Paris Multi Print Dress Shirt is great for taking on that trend. Ideal for work, weekends, casual dinner and so much more, wear with your favourite flat booties, Cons & a biker jacket, or glam it up with heels and a faux fur gilet. Next up was a cute combination channelling the 1970s, with the Tassle Folk Style Blousea sheer white blouse with pom-pom trims which was worn with the Faux Suede Dungaree DressThe pastel pink & white combo is really cute, and would work for many occasions, teamed with suede booties, heels or flatforms. In the casual chic section, I was intrigued by this combination of the Navy Bomber Jacket with the Striped Tailored Trousers. Although this look isn’t my style, it looks great breaking boundaries and clashing colours, worn by the model with black & white sneakers. Other looks I loved include the AX Paris Lace Long Sleeve Dress, Glamorous Lace Maxi Dress and the Glamorous Nude & White Bralet and Lace Skirt co-ordinates, (as seen in the video below). What I also liked about the fashion show was the beauty styling, with makeup by Stila and hair by Toni & Guy creating fresh-faced makeup and top knot buns respectively. Natural looks are always a winner in the Killer Fashion books!

The collection reflects the Dresses.ie #SweetSexyCool ethos; the belief that encourages women to embrace all sides of her personality and fashion trends to create their own unique look. There are so plenty of pieces that I’ve got my eye on, perfect for all of the events that I’ve got lined up this season. There’s also the icing on the cake of next-day free delivery on all orders in Ireland & UK – so ladies, get shopping!
