Best Dressed at National Television Awards 2016

On Wednesday night (January 20th), the 21st annual National Television A1wards 2016 took place at the O2 Arena in London, to celebrate Britain’s television entertainment industry, as voted by the public. We’ve seen what the American award shoes have brought us, so I was intrigued by what the first British red carpet of 2016 had to offer, and it wasn’t too shabby. The ladies & gentleman came out in their many, with some gorgeous gúnas & dapper suits on display. Irish-British host Dermot O’Leary returned to the NTAs for another year, so it was bound to be a good one! If you’re in the UK, catch up on the awards here. And so, let’s get on with the show and reveal the Killer Fashion Best Dressed list!

National Television Awards 2016

The Best Dressed

Kara Tointon was one of many who really stood out for me at the awards this year. The tall brunette beauty attended the NTAs in a high neck white gown by Nevena Couture. This dress featured all-over floral appliqué with embellishments on the bodice with capped sleeves and a sheer nude panel around the décolletage for a flirty finish, that cinched in on the waist, and fell out in a soft, chiffon skirt. It is just so heavenly to look at. The actress & model styled her awards attire with a white & silver box clutch by Aspinal of London, and jewellery from Joubi Jewellery, along with dark kohl-rimmed cat eyes, rosy cheeks & pink lipstick with a wispy updo for a flawless finish. I absolutely love everything!

Black Beauties

I adore what Chloe Sims wore to the NTAs, as she stepped out in a black gown by Italian fashion brand Isabel Garcia. The look features a deep sweetheart neckline that runs into full-length sleeves, with polka dot tulle along it, with a sheer strapless underlay. The fitted gown also featured a mid slit on the skirt, showing off her black strappy heels, which she teamed with a plum purple mani-pedi, nude lips, dark smokey eyes and a ponytail with bangs. I really love the detail in this dress and her minimal accessories too.

The Only Way is Essex star Georgia Kousoulou attended in a black fitted gown that featured a sheer nude bodice with black lace appliqué. The sleeveless look was styled with minimal jewels including bangle bracelets and pearl earrings, strappy heels a slicked back hairstyle and nude lips.

Opting for an LBD, X Factor star Fleur East walked the red carpet in a black sheer mini dress. The Sax singer’s look featured a black built-in sweetheart bodycon with sheer sleeves and geometric motifs on the bodice & shoulders that she teamed with thick ankle strap peeptoe boots and cerulean blue nails. Her afro curls hair was big talk on the night, as was her later performance of More & More, which you can watch here, that was truly brilliant! Fleur changed into a blue high-waisted suit look, with embellished lapels and a strappy black bustier top for the performance. She’s quite the female Bruno Mars!

Attending the awards in a plunging look, Jessica Wright wore this black textured crepe dress by Solace London. The fashion designing actress’ look featured a plunging neckline & open back with cut outs with a panelled skirt in a flared silhouette and mid slit on the skirt. I love the pop of electric blue of the underlining of this dress too. She opted for a customized sheer section along the neckline too that tied into the neckpiece and was matched with dark, smokey eyes, an envelope clutch and satin peeptoe ankle strap heels by Christian LouboutinClick here to buy Jessica Wright’s dress – it’s currently on sale!

Amanda Holden joined the party wearing this black & sheer dress by Jessica Choay. The dress features striped sheer finish on the bodice & sleeves, with a lace appliqué across the chest, satin silk cuffs & waistband and a straight skirt with a thigh-high cut on the leg. She added Saqqara Jewels to her look, and a fuss-free straight hairstyle & nude lips to finish, with patent pointed toe heels.

White Hot

TV presenter Holly Willoughby was in attendance, donning a sleeveless high-neck white gown on the red carpet. The relaxed mermaid fit showed off the blonde’s curves beautifully, and the slight gathered detail on the bodice was a perfect touch to this silk crepe dress. Tousled wavy hair, and JB by Joubi jewellery with a subtle smokey eye & nude pink lips completed her awards attire. Holly Willoughby also won the NTA for Best Live Magazine Show for ‘This Morning’ alongside co-host Phillip Schofield. Click here to buy Holly Willougby’s earrings!

Vicky Pattison also wore white on the red carpet, in this cut out bodice full-length dress by Pia Michi. The fitted look had cut out details on the upper bodice and an open back with a slight train skirt, which shows off the I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! winner’s fit body nicely. Her matte red lipstick, wide-eyed lashes and black eyeliner were the perfect makeup details, along with red nails, minimal jewels and glamorous waves. Vicky Pattison also won the NTA for Best Entertainment Programme for ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’, which she won alongside the co-stars of the show.

Hollyoaks star Nadine Mulkerrin attended the awards wearing this sleeveless column gown. The actress’ NTA debut dress featured a cut out on the midriff, with twisted panels for quite the intriguing detail, which she styled with a slicked down hairstyle, drop earrings and a deep plum box clutch.

Laura Jackson also attended in white, wearing a culotte jumpsuit & blazer by Tibi, which the multi-talented brunette styled with sheer white heels by Bionda Castana and a gold box clutch from Edie Parker. I quite like this look, it’s very sophisticated and doable, and the minimal styling and fresh-faced makeup finish are perfect for it.

Brooke Vincent looked lovely in her white full-length shirt dress, which featured half-sleeves and was worn with a gold plaque waistbelt to cinch the look in. I love this, it’s simplistic and yet so beautiful. An embellished colourful box clutch, subtle red lipstick, a tied back hairstyle and a gold bracelet completed the Coronation Street actress’ awards attire.

The Saturdays singer & presenter Rochelle Humes stepped out with her husband Marvin Humes in a custom-made Zeynep Kartal and James Yardley strapless silk gown. The fitted coral pink look featured a scooped neckline and thigh-high leg slit with a train, that was such a beautiful colour against the British brunette’s skin tone. She teamed black ankle strap heels by Azzedine Alaïa to her bespoke dress, as well as jewels by H. Stern. A sleek upstyle with a dewy, flawless makeup finish and nude lips completed Rochelle’s look.

Wearing a fuchsia colour to the awards, Luisa Zissman attended wearing a Pia Michi creation. The dress featured a v-cut neckline that was heavily embellished along the trims and collar as well as a T-bar panel at the back, in a fitted mermaid finish with a slight train. The brunette beauty added little accessories to her look, opting for smokey eyes and a sideswept hairstyle.

Her Elizabeth And James dress was teamed with an Oasis gold clutch and jewellery by Swarovski Atelier and Kate Spade NY. She revealed that her makeup was done by Lisa Potter-Dixon of Benefit Cosmetics, who created a dark eye makeup look with soft nude lips.

She styled the look with a metallic waistbelt for an exaggerated cinched-in effect, worn with silver ASOS sandals, dark smokey eyes, nude lips and a high ponytail with spikes along the crown & base. This is one of those hot damn! moments. She looked phenomenal!

Gloria Gaynor was a surprise to this red carpet, but her beautiful silver sheen gown was true to her character. The soul singer wore a v-cut knotted wrap dress with midi sleeves that catered to her curvy body perfectly. Adding glamorous curly locks, and gold & silver jewellery, this was a winning look for the awards.

Opting for all of the silver, Ferne McCann wore an ice-white & silver fitted gown to the NTAs. Her look featured an embellished lace motif along the upper bodice & neckline over nude sheer, whereas the body of the full-length gown was a lace design with a silk waistband to finish. The column dress was styled with a silk clutch, drop earrings and glamorous curls.

Representing her show Strictly Come Dancing, Tess Daly looked gorgeous in this Amanda Wakeley column gown that features gold-embroidered motifs on the upper bodice & neckline as well as a matching design on the waist. The sleeveless dress also featured a sheer black panel on that one side, contrasting with the black of the dress’ body. A bouffant ponytail, smokey eyes & nude pink lips with Pandora jewellery rounded up her look. Tess Daly also won the NTA for Best Talent Show for ‘Strictly Come Dancing!’, which she won alongside the co-stars of the show.

The actress styled her look with nude strappy sandals, a box clutch and glamorous curls and delicate gold jewellery, with fresh-faced makeup. I really like this look, it’s rather Old Hollywood glamour.

Irish gal Angela Scanlon joined the ladies in her colourful frock by Giles. Her sleeveless round neck A-line mini was styled with black strappy Paula Cademartori sandals, an Edie Parker lilac box clutch and a ponytail with bangs. This was very true to the redhead’s fun fashion sense, which she also added cat eyeliner to. Click here to buy Angela Scanlon’s shoes!
