Last night the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2015 aired internationally and my what a wonderful & fun event it was! You all now know, that I’m a big fan and really love the VS Fashion Show, and this year’s show was no exception. The themes included Boho Psychedelic, Portrait of an Angel, Exotic Butterflies, Ice Angels, Fireworks and Pink USA, and many gorgeous & international models walked the famous runway in downtown New York City at the Lexington Avenue Armory. Following last year’s special London show, I was excited to see what the American fashion capital show had in store for us – and was not disappointed. Performing on the night, The Weeknd, Ellie Goulding & Selena Gomez joined the Victoria’s Secret army and her Angels for a glamorous event that will have us talking for weeks. From stunning, sultry and sexy lingerie, jewels, accessories, clothing & costumes and of course, the famous VS wings and this year’s single Fantasy Bra – Killer Fashion gives you a look at the fashion show and make sure to watch the full show at the end of this post!
Just like the previous year, this Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show included an impressive 47 models: the beloved and veteran VS Angels Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, Lily Aldridge, Izabel Goulart, Candice Swanepoel, Behati Prinsloo, Elsa Hosk, Monika Jagaciak, Lais Ribeiro & Jasmine Tookes as well as internationally loved models like Joan Smalls, Martha Hunt, Lily Donaldson, Barbara Fialho, Sara Sampaio, Josephine Skriver, Ming Xi, Constance Jablonski, Sui He, Jacquelyn Jablonski, Magdalena Frackowiak, Cindy Bruna & Devon Windsor.
The fabulous fashion show also saw the return of Taylor Hill, Romee Stijd, Maud Welzen, Shanina Shaik, Maria Borges, Daniela Braga, Katie Grigorieva, Gracie Carvalho, Sharam Diniz, Yumi Lambert & Irish model Stella Maxwell, and showcased the VS debut of many models including Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Leomie Anderson, Rachel Hilbert, Pauline Hoarau, Valery Kaufman, Bruna Lirio, Flavia Lucini, Bridget Malcolm, Leila Nda, Megan Puleri, Vita Sidorkina and Sanne Vloet! What a line up!
Boho Psychedelic
“Live wild & free like the ’60s babe with glamorous lace-ups, lots of fringe & eclectic designs.” To open the show, we were treated to a throwback of fashion as the Victoria’s Secret models strutted out in 1960s-inspired styles. From gladiator heeled sandals to a flurry of colourful printed capes, fringed jackets, suede and foam wings, this was a great way to kick off the 2015 show. Click to shop the theme!
Portrait of an Angel
“Fall for a Victorian romance with delicate lace & ethereal pastels.” The Weeknd made his Victoria’s Secret debut performing ‘In The Night’, starting the second theme which was definitely one of my favourites. I’m all about that lace, that silk and those sexy romantic vibes. The capes and trains were plentiful, as were the wintry hues mixed with black and a lot of killer footwear too. Exotic Butterflies
“Float away in exquisite creations crafted in a kaleidoscope of colors & textures.” I’m always up for some romantic girliness on the runway, and this theme was truly perfect for that. It really was all about the butterflies, and the wings. The models walked up & down the runway in an array of blue, black, yellow, green, pink & purple giving us all sorts of gorgeous looks. British singer Ellie Goulding also made her debut at the show, performing her newest single ‘Army’. Click to shop the theme!
Pink USA
“Celebrate American icons with bright, bold shapes & lots of girl-power.” No VS Fashion Show is complete without the representation of the brand’s youthful PINK collection, and for this theme, we were given a show of all things American from the nation’s flag to sexy cops, rodeo queens and of course firewomen! Selena Gomez put on a good show, looking the part in a black cut out waterfall dress by Jolibe Atelier with black leather accessories from Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton and Messika, to perform ‘Hands to Myself’ and ‘Me and My Girls’. Ice Angels
“Escape on an opulent holiday in winter-whites, sparkly crystals & the stuff of snow princesses.” There’s always a Christmas theme, and it’s one of my favourites. For the 2015 edition, the models brought snow & sparkle to life with an astonishing amount of white and silver pieces which included VS wings, furry boots, jackets and hats. Ellie Goulding returned to the runway to perform ‘Love Me Like You Do’, which was a perfect match to this theme, and gosh how I felt so Christmassy afterwards! Click to shop the theme!
Fireworks
“Watch sparks fly & light up the night in ultra-vibrant hues & daring cut outs.” Closing the show, the models walked out in a burst of colour, feathers and extravagant wings for the Fireworks theme, accompanied by The Weeknd who returned to perform his hit song ‘Can’t Feel My Face’, which was brilliant. As revealed in November, Victoria’s Angel Lily Aldridge showcased this year’s VS Fantasy Bra. The VS Fashion Show centerpiece took 685 hours of labour, is embellished with more than 6,500 precious stones & gems and crafted by Mouawad. This sleek demi-shaped bra is adorned with spark-like bursts of more than 14 different types of precious gems, from blue topaz and garnet to yellow sapphire that’s all set in 18 carat gold… Fair play to Lily for keeping her cool with that $2 million bra!
