Last night (November 9th), the 25th Anniversary Glamour US Women of the Year Awards 2015 took place, at Carnegie Hall in New York City. It always promises beautiful women and handsome men in extremely stylish styles, given the publication’s name, and oh how it delivered this year.
The Best Dressed
Grammy and Oscar-winning Jennifer Hudson really knocked it outta the park for me. The curvacious beauty wore an embellished Marchesa gown, that featured a v-cut neckline with an exposed sheer trim and a fitted finish. The actress & singer kept her hair very clean with a close-shave pixie cut, adding metallic smokey eyes and a plum-coloured lipstick to her look, with dazzling Lorraine Schwartz jewellery to finish.
Legendary model Iman attended the awards in full on glamour, donning this black Brandon Maxwell v-cut jumpsuit with oversized voluminous sleeves. Serious couture going on here, a look that Iman easily pulls off, which she styled with a dark red lip, smokey eyes and gold jewels.
Also joining the red carpet show was Karlie Kloss, who worked a Mugler dress with its round halterneck design and high-leg cut, that also featured a satin button-embellished panel. Beautifully curled hair, black pointed heels and red lipstick completed the model’s look.
Elisabeth Moss was quite the beauty in this LBD, as she wore a velvet mini dress with a black sheer panel & sleeves that also featured a black velvet high neck collar. Teaming the look with black & white Rene Caovilla heels, the porcelain-skinned actress finished her look with an oxblood lipstick.

Pretty in Pink
Sporting a pastel candy pink, Ivanka Trump attended in a maternity gown with frilly sleeves a round neck finish. A simple updo, white & gold clutch bag and dewy makeup rounded up her look.
Well this dress was just waiting to appear on a red carpet, and Thassia Naves sure gave it her best shot. Wearing the infamous pink embellished & quilted midi bodycon dress from the equally infamous H&M X Balmain collection, the brunette teamed her look with black strappy heels and finished with a bouffant hairstyle.
Sophia Bush also attended the awards, donning a candy pink gown with small capped sleeves on an overlay top. The slight fishtail skirted dress was a lovely hue of pink, with which she styled a black, silver & pink Edie Parker clutch box to.
Eve Hewson attended the awards in this off-the-shoulder white look by Gabriela Hearst that featured a straight neckline and mid split on the skirt, which for me created an illusion that she was wearing trousers. Sporting minimal jewels & accessories, the Irish brunette added an oxblood lipstick to her look with matching nails.
Giving us some drama on the red carpet, Dascha Polanco arrived in a floor-length white caped bodycon. Though I’m not a fan of the exposed elasticized waistband with the dress, the look worked well for her curves, and her to-the-side updo gave the look even more va va voom. I’m not really loving the choice of accessories though; the chain-held clutch and pointed heels don’t work for me with this dress.
Liya Kebede definitely knows how to work any runway, and skipping the red carpet the model looked truly fabulous in her relaxed fit white suit with that high neck black blouse. Black pointed pumps and effortless makeup & hair, she really looked casually cool.
Joining her fellow models, Andreja Pejic wore this cream-coloured lace frock for the evening, that she paired with silver barely there sandals and a red lipstick. Minimal accessories were added, though I do wish she’d opted for gold footwear rather than the silver.
Looking very cute, model Jessica Hart wore a blouse dress on the red carpet, which featured ruffle design on top and laser cut out designs on the skirt. Silver pointed pumps and a candy hearts round bag that read “Be Mine”, the tall brunette styled her hair in a braided updo, which was a tad too much for my liking.
A Splash of Colour
Model Hilary Rhoda wore a strapless royal blue mini dress by J. Mendel, which featured long sleeves and a mini slit on the skirt as well as black studded trims along the neckline. She styled the look with Via Spiga fringed sandals and a relaxed updo.
Lupita Nyong’o also attended, wearing a dark green Jason Wu dress that featured cut out peplum detail on the waist and frayed finish on the hems. The Oscar-winning actress styled the look with Chelsea Paris sandals, a braided updo and flawless makeup.
Opting for something unexpected, model Lindsay Ellingson wore this sequin long sleeve to the awards which featured emoji print with a wide scooped neckline and mini length. The darker hues of the dress made it more appropriate for the occasion, had it been the emoticon-yellow print, it definitely would have been something to laugh about.
Huma Abedin wore a blue midi frock, that featured contrasting plaid patterns with black trims, which she wore with a red waistbelt. With black cross-strap heels, the political brunette styled the look with an Edie Parker clutch, that was customized to read “HRC 2020”, showing her support for the Hillary Clinton American Presidential run.
Adorning a white, blue & black midi on the evening, Reese Witherspoon attended in this Erdem number, which featured floral embroidery and a black sheer lace yoke. The actress wore the dress with black ankle strap platform sandals and kept her hair in a straight style with fresh-faced makeup. Reese Witherspoon was also honoured with a Glamour Woman of the Year Award.
