Dresses.ie Christmas Preview #DressesXmas15

This morning (October 8th), I attended a breakfast fashion showcase with Dresses.ie for their Christmas Preview with Holly White, which was held at The Meeting House in Temple Bar. The newly relaunched online fashion retailer boasts some of the most beautiful dresses, jackets, tops and skirts from labels across the country & worldwide, that are available with just the click of a button. Showcasing a lot of fashionable and trendy unique pieces, glitzy party picks, faux furs, vegan leathers and more, this was one fabulous reason to wake up early. Of the new direction for the brand, Eamon Downey, the managing director of Dresses.ie said that “the time was right to build on our original success, by making a significant investment in the brand. With leading stylist Holly White, this was the perfect partnership to help Dresses.ie move in a more progressive new direction.” But when one says a “fashion breakfast”, one assumes delicious food and that definitely delivered. The Meeting House held a Burmese-inspired breakfast that had a cute tea & coffee set up, with bowls of fruit salad and scones with clotted cream & blueberry compote on the side. Fresh fruit juices were also available, and then later when we’d all been seated, plates of poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, vegetables and a choice of smoked salmon, bacon or vegetarian options came out. Delicious!

“Each piece of the Christmas capsule collection has been curated to inspire fashion-forward customers, offering premium style that appeals to all aspects of a woman’s personality.” – Holly White, stylist

Stylist Holly White was also on hand, unveiling the Christmas capsule collection with a mini fashion show while the invited press & bloggers enjoyed a delightful breakfast. Holly explained how the five looks each represented a unique twist on the classic Christmas dress, that can be adapted to the personal style of every woman. The first look featured this AX Paris Black Lace Detail Pleated Skater Dress that is a classy black embroidered A-line, with sheer panels & sleeves that also featured the embroidery, for that fashion-tattoo look. I really adore this dress, it’s very me and I might just have to add it to my Wishlist come next month! It’s perfect for dinners or parties & events, with a pop of red lipstick I’d be mad not to get it! The second look featured this AX Paris Forrest Green Ribbed Cut Co-Ord, a textured co-ordinates ensemble in a teal hue worn with a black leather jacket on the shoulders. The cross-strap halterneck and the cropped fit work perfectly with the midi skirt, the latter of which is a big fashion trend for this season. Next up, the third look for the show featured a croc-like co-ordinates set with zip detail on the skirt and a boxy top, which were worn with a faux fur gilet. Although this look isn’t my style, it’s definitely very rock chic that’s great for cocktail nights. The fourth look was my another favourite, this Chi Chi Floral Print Bardot Red Midi Dress gives me all sorts of dreamy, girly feels. The off-the-shoulder straight neckline adds to the glamour, but it’s that sweet sheer printed longer overlay on the red skater dress body that has me in awe. Absolutely adore this. Then for the fifth and final look was this Embellished Wrap Front Bodycon, which is the biker-party girl-ready classic LBD that oozed sassy sexiness. A mini dress with a v-cut neckline, slight draped detail on the hips and then embellished capped shoulders. The look was worn with a double zip leather jacket and white strappy heels, the latter of which I wouldn’t mind nabbing! Holly also explained her approach to having the models’ makeup be quite neutral and fresh-faced, as well as naturally-styled hair, to reflect our natural beauty and that as an Irish nation we should embrace our true selves more. I absolutely love this mentality, because when I was growing up, that’s what I found most beautiful in people, and I still do.

The collection reflects the Dresses.ie #SweetSexyCool ethos, the belief hat a woman’s wardrobe should embrace all sides of her personality and be as dynamic as she is. There are so many dresses I’ve got my eye on, and I truly cannot wait for the party season to continue. There’s also the icing on the cake of next-day free delivery on all orders in Ireland & UK – so ladies, get shopping!

Available from €40, check out the full collection at Dresses.ie!

A big thank you to Eamon & Una and the whole Dresses.ie team, to Anthony of Yellow Machine PR for the invite, to Holly White for the fabulous presenting, to the models, MUA Tara O’Farrell and Kevin Heavin of Toni & Guy, and a major thank you to the staff at The Meeting House for all their hard work & delicious food!
