So I’ve been toying with the idea of writing a ‘My Top 5’ beauty products list post for a while now, and I’m starting the series with my top five favourite mascaras. Mascaras are one of my all-time favourite pieces from the beauty drawer, it was one of the first pieces I picked up when I was about 15 (the first time I started wearing makeup), and back then I literally lashed it on. Now I know how to wear it in a more refined manner, and have experimented with many mascaras thus far.
1. Yves Saint Laurent Faux Cils Shocking
Y’all know how much I love YSL makeup, and their Faux Cils Shocking Mascara was one of the first YSL products I received. It applies easily to lashes and gives a great blackened coverage due to its creamy texture, and with its pro-vitamin B5 and aloe vera elements it strengthens the lashes too. I usually apply two coats for that strong finish and the mascara lasts a good few months too. Available at €32.50
2. L’Oréal Paris Volume Million Lashes Mascara Extra Black
This is definitely one of my all-time favourite beauty products. The L’Oréal Paris Volume Million Lashes Mascara Extra Black is brilliant at coating every single lash separately, without any clumping. It gives a really defined finish to your beauty look. I love this mascara so much, that for Christmas last year my Dad bought me a new one to replace my old one and I was more than delighted. I really can’t recommend it more! Available at €14.99
3. Max Factor Transform Masterpiece Mascara*
You may remember back in November, I posted my review on this Max Factor Masterpiece Transform High Impact Volumising Mascara. Since that review I’ve actually grown more fond of the mascara, and used it as one of my daily necessities. It gives instant lift and boldness to your lashes, and only one dip into the product to coat your lashes! Now that’s a pretty nifty mascara. Available at €13.99

4. Kubiss London FantasEyes Curling Mascara*
This is a new brand I came across when I organised my first bloggers meetup, Killer Fashion GNO Blog Party. I’ve been using the Kubiss London FantasEyes Curling Mascara for a good while now and can say that it’s an extremely good, and very affordable product. It coats the lashes very well with its creamy texture, that truly do curl your lashes as well as lengthening them. Available at €6 at Conefrey’s Pharmacy
5. Oriflame The One 5-in-1 Wonder Lash Mascara*
My final and fifth favourite mascara is this Oriflame The One 5-in-1 Wonder Lash Mascara, which gives a great precise finish to your lashes. It was another introduction to a new beauty brand, Oriflame, which is a Swedish brand available in Ireland. This mascara has a light texture that has two sides to its brush; one with long curved bristles, and one with tiny straight bristles. I use it in a rotating motion, starting with the tiny side at the base of my lashes and rotate whilst coating to the tips of my lashes. It adds a great curled look, and also gives you a shiny finish – first for mascaras! Available at €8.95
Have you used any of these mascaras? And what are your favourites? Comment below to let me know!
