On Wednesday afternoon, I attended Urban Decay press event for their new eyeshadow palette, Naked Smoky. The event was held in the beautiful penthouse suite of The Dean Hotel, Harcourt Street, which was the perfect setting for the day-long happenings. There were fresh sandwiches, tea & coffee, juice and pastries for the nibbles and tunes throughout that had us all in a great mood. Urban Decay’s makeup artist Emma was also on hand for anyone interested in getting their makeup done, which I took advantage of and got my smokey on! Emma did such a fabulous job on my eyelids, I’d never gone so dark on my eyes before but now I won’t be afraid to do so more often. As well as pampering us with a mini makeover, Emma answered our makeup questions and gave us some tips & tricks for the perfect Naked eye.
There’s more to the perfect smoky eye than a heap of dark shadow and a badass attitude. Although the attitude certainly doesn’t hurt. – Urban Decay
The unveiling of the new Naked palette has had quite some hype as it features 12 eyeshadows including nine never-before-seen shades and three exclusives, in both matte & shimmering finishes that comes with an eyeshadow double-ended brush. The eyeshadows range from warm bronzes, dimensional greys, rich browns to gorgeous taupes and a deep black. The palette packaging is just as lovely as its contents, with the case and brush featuring a floating smoke effect, and a full mirror on the inside for easy application no matter where you are.
Urban Decay Naked Smoky will be available from August 6th at select Debenhams stores nationwide and House of Fraser, Dundrum Town Centre, at €46
Thank you to Róisín of L’Oréal for the invite and brilliant organisation, to Emma of Urban Decay and to the staff at The Dean Hotel!
