Nirina’s Birthday Weekend 2015

Well, I’m officially 25 years old! A quarter of a century, as I like to say. I celebrated my birthday in true Killer Fashion style, starting on Friday and ending last night. And my what a fabulous weekend it was! I had a bit of a pamper day on Friday, my big party on Saturday at one of my favourite bars (and places in Dublin), a nice chilled out Sunday and then a fun & family-filled birthday Monday to round-up the celebrations, and at my favourite restaurant too. My family & friends were a huge part of this weekend’s events, and I’m so grateful to all of those who came out to celebrate with me. But sure what would a Killer Fashion post be without the fashion? Here are the details of my weekend, what I wore and a peek at the lovely goodies I received! Thanks to all who’ve been liking on Instagram & Facebook, the reach this weekend has been amazing, and on the blog itself I’VE FINALLY HIT that wondrous 100,000! Aaah!

Friday: Tropical Popical and Zakura

On Friday afternoon, I headed into town to get my nails done, getting the bus with my little sisters next door Ellen, Chloe & Fia. I had my appointment at Tropical Popical, as you may have read last Friday on the blog. I got the most pretty manicure by Niamh, and was (and still am) delighted with the end results. The nails are still perfect looking today. Thanks again Niamh! Later, Ellen and I had lunch in Zakura, Wexford Street for some tasty Japanese cuisine, in my favourite dining area of Dublin. Later that evening I headed in to my neighbour’s for one of our famous neighbourhood parties, and had such fun.

Saturday: Birthday Party at The Odeon

Saturday was an exciting day for me, because it was my big birthday party night! During the day I took it nice & easy, chilling out and catching up on my favourite tv shows and the Wimbledon finals. I had din dins with my Dad and then got ready with Ellen, my beloved sister next door. My makeup choices consisted of a fair bit more product than usual, but still had that lightweight finish that I adore. I opted for some new products from sponsors, including the Fuschia Nudes Palette & Physicians Formula Mineral Wear. I wanted to go for a subtle smokey eye and this palette was perfect for it, and finished with my beloved Yves Saint Laurent liner and the scarlet red Lancôme lipstick. The dress I wore was probably the most statement-worthy dress I’ve ever worn, and a big thanks to Fanny Crown for this. I was a runner-up in one of their blogger contests and with my voucher I received this gorgeous gold sequin dress, in which I felt like such a queen! Of course I wore my beloved Christian Louboutin ‘Bianca’ heels, and like always I danced all night long in them! My big birthday party was held in one of my three favourite bars, The Odeon, Harcourt Street, where the staff, the service and DJ Joey Foran were all on point all night long. We stayed there for hours upon hours, eventually crawling back to bed post-taxi about 4am. Thank you to all of my wonderful family & friends who came out, those who randomly popped by and those who were with me from the start until the end, I love you! And a big thank you to the darlings who gave me presents, so unnecessary, but so appreciated!

What I Wore

Sunday: Birthday Party at Home

On Sunday I had a lovely fruit salad breakfast with my bestie Filomena, since she’d stayed over the night before. Later that day I brunched with my Dad, caught up on the Wimbledon final, went to visit my Grandpa and popped into my beloved neighbours for some tea & cake. Ellen made the most delicious birthday cupcakes, having whipped up Oreo-topped butter-icing chocolate cupcakes with gold dusting! A bit of vino and the chats, I then headed back home for not one, but two movies with my Dad on the couch and it was fun! Opting for a casual look, I wore out my newest ALDO sneakers for the day.

What I Wore

Monday: 40 Foot, Carluccio’s and Opium

Yesterday it was my actual birthday, July 13th. In the morning I headed out to the 40 Foot at Sandycove for a swim in the Irish Sea and oh gosh it was cold! But I got in, as you may have seen on my Snapchat & Instagram (add me @NirinaXX), and it was actually quite lovely. After the swim, my Dad, auntie and I headed to Carluccio’s Glasthule for breakfast, which was delicious! Unfortunately we were too early for Bellinis, but dessert made up for that. (Check out my review of Carluccio’s on my new food & music blog Cookie FM!And then later that evening I went for dinner with my family to my favourite restaurant, Opium, Wexford Street. The food was as delicious as ever, and I actually opted for two dishes I’d not yet tried before and was very happy with them. The staff at Opium are always amazing, and were brilliant with my family, who love to have a bit of banter, and oh how I truly enjoyed my birthday Proseccos, thank you! For the evening occasion I wore this lovely cornflower blue dress by Therapy that my Dad gave me, which was totally Killer Fashion. Gosh he really knows me! Of course I wore my beloved Loubies again, my favourite gold bracelets and the new Alex & Ani that Rob gave me, and opted for a more demure makeup finish.

Birthday Presents

A maaaassive thank you to all of my family & friends who gave me presents this year, especially the latter who really didn’t have to give me anything! I am absolutely delighted, and feeling all of the love. Here’s a cheeky glimpse of the presents I received this year for my birthday. Specifically I want to thank my Dad, my Brother, my Grandpa and my auntie & uncle; my Regan family next-door; and my friends Kassi, Aisling, Laura, Nadia, Darren & Kevin. You guys are amazing!
