As mentioned before, I’ve been testing out some beauty products for review purposes, and today’s review is the Lancôme Advanced Génifique. The Advanced Génifique serum is a youth activating concentrate that’s been around since 2009. Now in its sixth year, it still delivers the same successful formula. Using transcriptomics, which studies gene expressions, along with proteomics, which demonstrates their activity via skin protein synthesis, Lancôme was able to identify the signature proteins of young skin. This product is also known as ‘The Little Black Bottle’, a name that evokes elegance, understatement, but also mystery; it has also become one of the emblems of Lancôme, almost a symbol and an icon. I’ve been using the concentrate every day for the past two weeks and I must say I am extremely impressed. The bottle is beautiful; I adore the ombré design and the self-loading dropper is very easy to use. I’ve only needed two-three drops for each side of my face as the product has really great coverage. The product glides over my skin, moisturises and refreshes, and with my current hay fever it has really helped keep my complexion at ease. Usually I suffer from redness around my nose and on my cheeks, but somehow this product has kept my redness to a minimum, and on the off days that I didn’t use the Advanced Génifique, I had noticed more redness. I apply the serum before using my moisturizer, in both the morning & at night. Another thing I adore about this is its heavenly scent. It smells like clementines and leaves a slight scent on my face all day, which is always a lovely bonus. I don’t yet have wrinkles or crow’s-feet, but I have seen a difference on my skin in that I now have even less whiteheads – yay! Killer Fashion recommends!
