Last night the CMT Music Awards 2015 took place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, to celebrate country music videos and television performances, and the red carpet was ever so star-studded. From the big country names to television actors and singers alike, it was a great night for the an awards show with the sun beaming down. And with that, the red carpet fashion was on its A-game as the ladies & gents stepped out in all sorts of gorgeous get ups. So, let’s see who’s made the Killer Fashion Best Dressed list for this year’s show.
The Best Dressed
Brandi Cyrus looked fabulous in her black sheer number by For Love and Lemons, donning a maxi look that featured a tulle overlay on a black high-waisted mini & strappy bralet ensemble. The overlay was also embroidered for that chic girly finish. Red nails, black cross-strap sandals from BCBG Max Azria and an Edie Parker clutch completed her red carpet-ready look. Thanks to Brandi Cyrus for also retweeting and reposting my post on Twitter AND Instagram!)
Going for green, singer Jana Kramer looked lovely in a dark hue on the red carpet, rocking her Lorena Sarbu dress. It featured a plunging neckline and cut outs on the shoulder straps and waist as well as a leg split for serious sexiness. Her Coye Nokes architectural gold heels were the perfect addition, along with her choice of jewellery from Le Vian, Forevermark Diamonds and L’Dezen by Payal Shah. I also adore that side plait and Jana’s makeup. She just looks fabulous!
Black Beauties
Laura Marano opted for the cape trend to the awards, donning an all black fitted ensemble with studded ankle strap pumps and a dark purple leather handbag. Her hair & makeup were on point, which excuses the slight lack of oomph from this look.
Actress Nicole Kidman attended with her country singer husband Keith Urban, donning a peplum bodice jumpsuit by Balenciaga. The fur-trimmed textured strapless one-piece was a subtle but dramatic look for the awards, which she pulled off with ease. Nicole also wore the heels from the runway look with her ensemble, finising up with curled locks and a subtle pink lipstick.
Co-host of the awards, Brittany Snow walked the red carpet in a black & white strapless gown by Monique Lhuillier. Her satin bodice & draped gazar skirt dress featured a mid split showing off her black Giuseppe Zanotti heels, which she perfectly styled with a hot pink lip colour and turquoise stud earrings.
Nashville actress Aubrey Peeples also attended, donning a caped dress mini dress from Co that she worked perfectly with her auburn hair, smokey eye makeup, red vampy lips and silver sandals, though I wish she’d opted for gold instead. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!
White Hot
Looking the part, singer Carrie Underwood opted for an LWD by Thomas Wylde, and had me looking twice to recognize it was in fact Carrie Underwood! Her long-sleeved mini dress featured embellishment in a mirror design, and her fuss-free hairstyle, dewy makeup and silver heels by Jimmy Choo & clutch by Deepa Gurnani added to the singer’s flawless finish. She later performed ‘Little Toy Guns’, which you can watch here, changing into a black sheer maxi dress with peekaboo, embellishments and chain details. Carrie Underwood also won the awards for Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year both for ‘Something in the Water’, as well as Collaborative Video of the Year with Miranda Lambert for ‘Somethin Bad’.
Ashley Monroe wore a satin boxy mini dress by Cynthia Rowley with silver embellishments along the neckline and lower sleeves, which was just beautiful. Pavé hoop earrings and rings by Amanda Pearl, Norman Silverman Diamonds and Meira T with silver patent sandals from Prada, dramatic eye makeup and her blonde hair completed her look.
Following her win on Dancing With the Stars, Rumer Willis was also in attendance at the CMTs wearing a sweetheart strapless midi by House of CB. Her toned body looked great in the fitted dress, which she styled with lilac heels by Stuart Weitzman, a Salvatore Ferrgamo clutch and jewels by Doves, with her dark hair sideswept for the perfect contrasting finish. This look, I really love!
CMT Music Awards co-host Erin Andrews attended in this white full length sleeveless dress by Mugler, which featured a side cut out on the hips with an embellished trim, as well as a leg split on the skirt. Adding Manolo Blahnik shoes and jewels by Martin Katz to the look, Erin kept her hair & makeup fuss-free with a nude lipstick to finish.
Dressing in white, Nikki Reed wore a keyhole cut out mini by Kaufmanfranco, with an A-line skirt finish that she styled with Brian Atwood heels and a pewter coloured clutch. Her brows were seriously on fleek, and the selection of silver jewellery added to the look.
Laura Bell Bundy attended in this strapless jumpsuit style, featuring a beige bodice with a white trim and floral printed trousers and beige suede pumps to complete the look. She also held a marbled clutch and added a pop of pink lipstick & coral nails to her ensemble, which I adore.
Singer Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town opted for a white plunging gown with a black flecks print. The country star added shoes by my favourite high street store, ALDO and a stunning turquoise marbled clutch with matching earrings to her look, rounding up the look with a white manicure and silver & black eye makeup.
A Splash of Colour
Country singer RaeLynn made quite an entrance in her purple Gabriela Cadena gown. The dress featured an amazing slightly psychedelic print in hues of purple, blue & pink that had architectural black lines throughout, complimenting the multistrap halterneck finish. The train on the dress also added to some drama, and the simplistic hair & makeup really complimented the whole look.
Meghan Linsey of Steel Magnolia gave us quite the summer look donning this floral printed multi coloured two-piece ensemble, which featured a cropped & capped sleeve top with a high-waisted full skirt. Adding a curled sideswept hairstyle and an orange-red lipstick, Meghan looked every bit of summer.
Brooke Hogan stepped out in a va va voom look by Jonathan Kayne that was very Sofía Vergara. Her white plunging v-cut bodice was the perfect match for the candy pink skirt, and then there’s the embellished waistband and that fishtail skirt finish. I love it, I love it all!
One of my favourite ladies on the carpet was Jenna Dewan-Tatum, who stunned in a plum coloured lace dress by one of my favourite designers, Zuhair Murad. The v-cut dress featured alternating sheer lace panels all the way down, that she added Tamara Mellon heels to and a box clutch too. A tousled hairstyle, smokey eyes and drop earrings, this look was pure perfection.
Golden Girls
Danielle Bradbery opted for a metallic look to the awards, donning this embellished Patricia Bonaldi dress. Her gold & bronze mini was styled with an Onna Ehrlich minaudière, beige sandals by Alice + Olivia and jewels by Matthew Campbell Lauenza. Her ponytail featured mini plaits and the smokey eyes were the ideal finishing touches.
Wearing a glittery number by Alice + Olivia, country singer Lindsay Ell was all smiles on the red carpet. She added more gold to her look, styling with a gold leather clutch, patent heels and a minimal selection of gold jewellery. Her voluminous sideswept blonde hair and the shimmery eyes were perfect to finish up this look.
Singer Cassadee Pope attended in an ochre-coloured lace mini dress by Mikael D, which was every bit fitting for the occasion and the season. The dress featured a sheer lace overlay on the panelled dress with a scalloped hem. A Swarovski clutch and beige strappy sandals completed the look, along with a bouffant & straight hairstyle.
Beautiful in Blue
Kimberly Perry joined her brothers on the red carpet, donning a blue column dress that featured nude panels for a modern twist. It was a simple & sweet look that still had me looking twice, because I love a good illusion dress. A straight hairstyle, mini box clutch and smokey eyes with a dewy makeup finish completed the singer’s look.
Kelsea Ballerini also opted for blue, in this gorgeous Christos Costarellos gown. It featured a sheer lattice panel atop of the bodice, with floral embroidery and layering on the skirt, in the most wonderful of blue hues. Her long blonde mermaid waves and dewy makeup glow were perfect together, and I adore the pop of colour with her AMI Clubwear clutch and the yellow Nicole Miller sandals underneath. Kelsea also added jewellery courtesy of The Showroom, House of Harlow, Misahara and Nashelle.
And saving the best blue for last, Kellie Pickler stunned in this embellished midi dress by Georges Chakra Couture. The clashing prints, the shimmer of the embellishments, the length and the fit were all perfect. Bronze & silver platform sandals and a silver clutch by Swarovski rounded up her CMT look perfectly.
