Best Dressed at Academy of Country Music Awards 2015

ACM Country Music Awards 2015 2014

Yesterday evening marked the 50th annual Academy of Country Music Awards that took place in Arlington, Texas. Having just visited Austin, Texas for the last two weeks, (look out for my Holiday Outfits post soon!), I am excited to delve straight in to this Spring awards ceremony and am delighted with the attendees & their gorgeous gunas. Luke Bryan & Blake Shelton hosted the awards together, which celebrates and honours the best in country music & the industry’s accomplishments from 2014, and together the country men did a great job. But enough about the men, let’s take a look at what the ladies brought to the red carpet in Killer Fashion’s Best Dressed list!

The Best Dressed

From the second I saw what actress Reese Witherspoon wore on the red carpet, I knew she was easily a contender for the Best Dressed title. Her David Koma A-line dress was covered in light-reflecting jewels on the front with a black satin border that worked so beautifully on the petite actress’ body, adding curves in all the right places. Reese styled her look with a silver cuff bracelet and strappy sandals, finishing with a sweeping hairstyle, pink lipstick & subtle smokey eyes.

In joint Best Dressed was country singer and ACM veteran Miranda Lambert, who pulled off this cheeky sexy Angelina leg dress by Bibhu Mohapatra. A plunging neckline and train added to the look, along with a straight hairstyle, jewels by Kimberly McDonald Fine Jewelry, pointed pumps by Gianvitto Rossi and a sparkling vegan clutch by Jill Milan. She later performed Mama’s Broken Heart’ and ‘Little Red Wagon’. Miranda Lambert also won the awards for Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for ‘Platinum’ and Song of the Year for ‘Automatic’, as well as the Milestone Award for Most Awarded Female Artist presented by Reese Witherspoon & Sofia Vergara.

Black Beauties

The Voice winner RaeLynn attended the ACM Awards in a short black number by Vintage Mugler, opting for a quirky cut out neckline and two-tiered skirt that showed off a lime under-colour, which matched her box clutch by Judith Lieber. An array of rings from Roberto Coin, glittery silver & black pumps as designed by top fashion blogger Chiara Ferragni and a sweeping hairstyle completed the singer’s look.

A surprise to the awards was Jamie Lynn Spears Watson, who attended in this black gown by Cary Santiago. Her dress featured a peekaboo embellished design with a fishscale fishtail skirt finish that was rather appropriate for the awards and for the actress/singer. She was all smiles on the red carpet, adding only gemstone stud earrings to her look and tying up the look with a ponytail and dark eye makeup.

Ashley Monroe opted for a cheeky tuxedo-inspired mini dress with a plunging neckline and satin finish. The country singer’s hair and makeup were totally on point, and her look was rounded up with a gold clutch and platform barely-there sandals.

TV personality & presenter Nancy O’Dell was all smiles as she glided down the red carpet in a black & gold creation, that was one sleeved and featured alternating gold designed sheer panels. The fit of the dress was beautiful, and her styling from head to toe was on point; from her straight hair, minimal jewels and white manicure to her heels. Perfection!

Attending alongside her Hot Pursuit co-star Reese Witherspoon, Sofía Vergara looked mighty fine in her LBD on the red carpet. Donning a black strapless midi dress with peplum waist detail and polka dot & Baroque patterns on the front, the tall actress added black suede peeptoe platforms for extra inches. A no-fuss hairstyle and deep red lipstick were the ideal finishing touches for this look, along with subtle sparkling jewels by Norman Silverman Diamonds.

Red Hot

Singer Cassadee Pope strutted her stuff in this lovely red & black creation by Badgley Mischka, which features an artistic mirrored swirl pattern with a slight waterfall skirt showing off her Sam Edelman sandals. She added Vincent Peach earrings and a black patent clutch by Nadia Gabriella to complete her red carpet ready look. I adore her hair & makeup for this too, effortless and beautiful.

Attending alongside her husband Willie Robertson, Korie Robertson looked ravishing in her red choice. The dress featured ruched capped sleeves with slight embellishment along the neckline and a straight fit that showed off her gorgeous hourglass body. The updo, sparkling bangle and Korie’s makeup were the absolute perfect finishing touches.

Karen Fairchild joined her bandmates of Little Big Town, looking fabulous in this red lace number by Valentino Couture. The full length dress featured an all-over lace & embellished overlay with sheer long sleeves that she matched a red matte lipstick to and completed her look with Stuart Weitzman shoes, a Judith Leiber clutch and Rona Pfeiffer earrings. Karen Fairchild also won the award for Vocal Group of the Year alongside her bandmates of Little Big Town.

Pretty in Pink

Kimberly Schlapman of country band Little Big Town opted for a magenta hue to the awards, donning Reem Acra. Her strapless fitted bodice gown featured a full skirt, which she wore with Jimmy Choo shoes, a Rauwolf clutch, earrings by Dana Rebecca Designs and a tight-curled hairstyle with dramatic eyeliner to finish. Kimberly Schlapman also won the award for Vocal Group of the Year alongside her bandmates of Little Big Town.

ACM nominee Kacey Musgraves looked ever so pretty in pink lace on the red carpet. The wide-v cut dress had a flowy fit with capped sleeves and an embellished overlay that really embodied the country singer’s style well. A to-the-side fishtail plait, exaggerated lashes and light pink lipstick completed her look, which worked so wonderfully together.

Famous cheerleader Brittany Kerr was also in attendance in pink, wearing a candy coloured dress with a cut out at the back that hugged her body in all the right places. Her blonde curly hair, shimmery box clutch and minimal jewellery were the perfect finishing touches for her awards show look.

White Hot & Embellished

Attending with boyfriend Nick Jonas, former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo looked white-hot in her slinky Alaia Azzedine dress, with its clean lines and fishtail skirt finish. Tousled waves, dark brows & eye makeup with simple earrings and a metallic silver clutch perfected her red carpet look.

Looking gorgeous in white was Jessie James Decker, who truly worked her mama-to-be curves beautifully in this long-sleeved plunging dress. The sleek white number was matched with a white manicure, metallic platforms, a gold oval clutch, white silver drop earrings and a bouffant ponytail to finish.

One of my personal favourite ladies, Christina Aguilera, took to the stage at the ACM Awards for the first time, donning a Roberto Cavalli dress with a Topshop denim jacket. Her white graphic patterned dress was worn with nude platforms by Christian Louboutin and an array of jewellery by Jacquie Aiche, Roseark and D’Orazio. Christina performed ‘Shotgun’ from another personal favourite show, Nashville, and then ‘Riot’ alongside The Rascal Flatts, (which you can watch here).
Kimberly Perry of The Band Perry joined her brothers on the red carpet looking stunning in this champagne coloured full length dress. Her long-sleeved look featured sheer lace panels and all-over confetti embellishment that was the perfect fit for the tall singer. Nude platform peeptoes, voluminous hair and a matching nude octagon box clutch completed this beautiful blush look. She was easily one of the best dressed ladies on the night.
Kellie Pickler also opted for a champagne coloured embellished look by Lorena Sarbu, wearing a plunging gown that featured Baroque lace on the bodice with a fishtail silk skirt finish. She upped the ante with gold accessories from her clutch, to her cocktail ring by Csarite and eyeshadow.

Bold in Blue

Danielle Bradbery joined her fellow The Voice stars in this blue two-piece ensemble. The look was a floral textured crop top and waterfall skirt, which showed off her black strappy sandals that matched her smokey eyes and box clutch too.

Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum wore wearing a Badgley Mischka dress in a royal blue hue. The look featured a keyhole on the bodice and ruffle detail along the seams. The dress’ side split showed off her Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, which she styled with David Yurman jewellery and a curled hairstyle.

Choosing a two-toned look, actress Beth Behrs attended on the red carpet in a sleeveless high neck look. Hosting the behind-the-scenes features from the awards, Beth’s dress featured sugar crystal embellishments on a sheer bodice with a clean, slightly fitted navy skirt that allowed her to walk & talk with ease. A loosely pulled back hairstyle and pink lipstick completed her look beautifully.

Joining her co-host of the show husband Luke Bryan, Caroline Boyer looked stunning in an embellished plunging gown that shone from every angle. The side split on the skirt complimented the neckline and open back, while the dress’ cinched waistline did wonders for the beautiful blonde. Kohl-rimmed eyes and a pink lip rounded up her look to perfection. Her husband Luke Bryan also won the award for Entertainer of the Year.

Another Killer Fashion favourite was Taylor Swift, who skipped the red carpet but blew me away nevertheless. The singer attended the ceremony in a light blue Reem Acra dress that featured cut outs on the bodice and a side split too. TayTay added Brian Atwood heels and jewellery by Luna Rossa, Melissa Kaye Jewelry, Doves and EF Collectionfinishing her look with a chic ponytail and a pink lip colour. Taylor Swift was also honoured with the Milestone Award that was presented by her mother Andrea Swift, (which you can watch here).
