Best Dressed at BRIT Awards 2015

The 35th annual BRIT Awards took place last night in London, and what a night for music it was. Held in the O2 Arena by the award-winning duo Ant & Dec, the show was quite the spectacle but the red carpet show was even more so. Before the stars took their seats for a fun night of music performances & awards, as designed by Tracey Emin, there were the gorgeous gown that graced the rolled out red carpet. So, who made the Killer Fashion Best Dressed list this year?

Brit Awards 2015

The Best Dressed

Just like the Grammys, there’s no doubt that my beloved Taylor Swift stole the show on the red carpet. Donning a custom-made figure-hugging black gown by Roberto Cavalli Couture, the tall singer showed off some Asian-inspired style with the red dragon embroidery on the sheer back that curved down to the train, which was also featured embellished & fringed details. From the dazzling details on the dress to her chic voluminous updo, the red lipstick & cat eyes to the large earrings, this looks is perfect from head to toe. Taylor Swift also won the BRIT award for International Female Solo Artist, and performed ‘Blank Space’ later in the show, which you can watch here!

Lady in Red

Former X Factor contestant Rebecca Ferguson attended in a gorgeous embroidered lace gown with floral appliqué and reflective embellishments. The singer showed off her curves beautifully in this gown, with its long-sleeved and high neck features, adding black pumps & a black clutch to the look, with her voluminous natural curls and dramatic eye makeup to finish.

Paloma Faith joined the party on the red carpet in a lovely strapless gown by Armani Privé. The bustier gown featured tulle layers in splatter-like metallic red polka dots that also featured a black net veil on the skirt. A slicked back hairstyle and scarlet red lipstick with zero jewels added such elegance to the busy dress, which she teamed with black pumps perfectly. Later in the show, she performed ‘Only Love Can Hurt Like This’, which you can watch here, wearing a black Giles Deacon creation before changing into Dolce & Gabbana, in which Paloma Faith won the BRIT award for British Female Solo Artist!

Black Beauties

Ashley James looked lovely in her LBD choice, which featured a Celtic-like designed bodice with a two-tiered ruffle mini skirt. Black & nude booties with a voluminous updo and smokey eyes finished off her look.

Attending in her signature black, Ella Henderson joined the red carpet show in a Katie Ermilio dress that was long-sleeved, with a slight waterfall skirt finish and featured chain detail from the neckpiece around the waist and joined up at the back. She added Alexander McQueen pumps to the look with a ‘blond popgirl’ minaudiere by Sylvia Toledano, along with a voluminous hairstyle a la Brigitte Bardot.

Jess Glynne arrived for the pre show in a wide-cut gown that sure showed a lot of cleavage. Her black sleeveless look was quite figure-hugging, which she wore with a selection of necklaces, a dark red manicure & nude lip and added cat eyeliner with her natural curls for a vampy finish.

Actress Michelle Keegan was also in attendance, donning a black crochet mini dress by Isabel Garcia, cinched in by a waistbelt and worn with a funky mint green box bag by Mawi. I love her youthful look for the awards, which she wore with a curled hairstyle, silver jewellery and metallic barely-there sandals.

Singer Janelle Monáe walked the red carpet in her distinctive signature style, wearing a geometric-designed velvet suit from Emporio Armani. Teaming a high-neck frill dress shirt with a skinny ribbon tie and strappy heels, she wore a wide-brimmed hat by Milner Gladys. Red lipstick and a neon yellow mani-pedicure, it was the perfect finish for her femme power suit look.

White Hot

Attending in white, Ellie Goulding wore this Alberta Ferretti gown to the BRITs. The look had a plunging neckline, sheer & white features on the bodice and floral motifs all over. The bho-chic vibe was styled with minimal jewellery and tousled waves.

Opting for the LWD, Zoe Hardman wore this short look on the red carpet with its embellished collar neckline and shift dress finish, it showed off the presenter’s long legs. I’m not a fan of the patent brown pumps though, but that white clutch, her hair & makeup make up for the lack of style at the bottom of this look.

X Factor finalist Fleur East also attended, donning a silk gown with a faux halterneck pinched in by an accent that also creates a keyhole detail on the bodice and is complimented by a mid split on the skirt. The dress also featured a wrap-over effect on the waist. Gold strappy heels, an exaggerated curled fauxhawk and smokey eyes completed the singer’s look.

Top model Karlie Kloss wore a beautiful white dress, that’s hot off the runway, by Tom Ford. Considering the model just walked the designer’s collection last week, she’s for sure the first to wear a piece from this collection on the red carpet. The slinky long-sleeved dress featured cut outs on the shoulders with black trims and a halterneck finish, that’s also very different to the runway version. Open toe sandals, kohl-rimmed eyes and an updo completed her demure monochrome look.

Grace Chatto of Grammy-winning band Clean Bandit, attended the awards in a statement white look. Her ensemble featured a crop top, white flared pants with an impressive cape all in a white silk finish, that she wore with white pumps, styled her pink hair into a straight style and added a pop of red lipstick. Gorgeous!

Metallic Madness

Fearne Cotton attended in a textured & embellished mini dress, looking absolutely gorgeous! The upper panel & sleeves were embellished with beads, whereas the body of the short dress had a light gold textured finish. Her gold love didn’t stop there, as the presenter & radio DJ added gold disc-designed sandals and a metallic gold mini clutch to her look, with large earrings and an updo.

Rita Ora is on a wining streak when it comes to the carpet this awards season. The singer donned this breathtakingly beautiful Zuhair Murad Couture jumpsuit gown with a plunging neckline that was covered in cascading sequins & crystals, complete with a cape on the waist. It was sexy & elegant, and matched perfectly with dark eye makeup and a nude lip. Following her Best Dressed title at the Oscars last weekend, this was a stunning follow-up.

One surprise on the night was Marina Diamandis, whose textured & embellished gown was as sexy as it was beautiful. In a similar light to Rita Ora’s look, the Marina & The Diamonds singer wore a dress by Celia Kritharioti that showed off some cleavage, as well as leg with the nude sheer panels on the skirt. Adding a lime faux fur stole by Clio Peppiatt over her shoulder, she upped the ante with a vampy plum lip and Old Hollywood glamour waves.

A Splash of Colour

Going for a demure look, Laura Jackson wore this dark teal-coloured sheen straight cut midi dress. Although some may dislike the lacklustre of this, I really love that it’s elegant. The presenter’s hair & makeup were totally on point, and I love her pop of yellow via the oval clutch and her silvery peeptoe sandals.

Caroline Flack also opted for colour, donning this pink leather-like mini dress with black ankle strap sandals, smokey eyes and a her bob cut in tousled waves. It’s edgy but not over the top.

Fellow presenter and X Factor alumni Sarah-Jane Crawford looked quite sweet in her pale yellow & beige frock, that featured a textured panel on one half with embellished motifs and a silk finish on the other half with a slight peplum-like skirt finish. Mermaid waves with dramatic eye makeup, a dewy glow & nude lip, along with strappy metallic sandals and a dark mani-pedi completed the DJ’s gorgeous & girly look.

Irish gal and presenter Laura Whitmore knocked it out of the park again. I love her style, and she looked bang on in this Halstone Heritage mini dress. Her pale yellow capped sleeves look was accented by a gold metallic waistbelt, creating a lovely hourglass shape. Her Jimmy Choo black heels made her appear even taller. A gold armband, a carefree straight hairstyle and a dark red lip rounded up this beautiful look.

Lisa Snowdon really blew me away. I adore the colourful geometric motif in her dress, complete with the black trims, the v-cut neckline and the mini dress finish. It hugged the tall beauty in all the right places, and was perfectly styled with kohl-rimmed eyes, barely-there sandals and a black envelope clutch to finish. Just gorgeous!

The girls of Little Mix are never one to miss a good show and dress for the occasion, and boy did they deliver. Jesy Nelson was all va va voom in this sexy red dress by Suzanne Neville, which featured a vampy neckline with a tiny mesh detail on the bust and was a figure-hugging fit accentuating the singer’s gorgeous curves. Perrie Edwards opted for a strapless velvet column dress with embellishments along the left side from the bust to the floor, which she finished with a slicked back hairstyle and smokey eyes. Leigh-Anne Pinnock stunned in her dramatic Shady Zeineldine Couture gown, which featured a wrapped & pleated beige-gold bodice with cascading embellishments on the skirt and train like ivy, with which she also chose a slicked back hairstyle. Adding even more drama, Jade Thirlwall looked fab in her two-tone monochrome gown that features a plunging neckline & halterneck with a full skirt, which she added a Mimi & Bow clutch and Sydney Evan rings to the look with smokey eyes to finish. I adore that the girls went for their own looks for the red carpet, and I adore even more their hand-holding. Girl power!
