Cara Delevingne has no doubt been one of the biggest models on the planet in the last few years. She became a working model at the young age of just 16 (and she’s only 23!), and has walked runways for almost all of the big fashion houses, premium brands & designers as well as being the face of many worldwide campaigns. Most notably she is Karl Lagerfeld’s muse and has walked hand-in-hand at his Chanel shows, as well as featuring in a short film for the fashion house alongside Pharrell Williams; she was the face of Burberry alongside fellow Brit & actor Eddie Redmayne; she has been the face of Yves Saint Laurent’s beauty campaigns including Touché Éclat with her model BFF Jourdan Dunn; she has been the face of DKNY and has also created a capsule collection with the brand, CARA X DKNY; and has been the face & front woman for Topshop campaigns. Though since August 2015, Cara has resigned from modelling, she is still one of the biggest names. But what we like about Cara the most is her street style, that casual cool fashion and of course those strong eyebrows. All Black Everything
Cara is often seen wearing black and leather pieces, a staple look for most women. Get her leather biker jacket style from Zara, Forever 21 & River Island, where zips and ribbed features are key. When opting for black jeans, it does depend on what suits you best and I always recommend Noisy May & Only or River Island, Zara & Nasty Gal if you do want to pay that bit more, or opt for faux leather trousers. For tops & tees, Topshop, Fat Face and H&M have all the essentials, and don’t be afraid to mix in navy stripes.
Street Smart
Apart from her black attire, Cara’s style is known to be bright, bold and often quite loud. Think of her DKNY X CARA collection for inspiration; from varsity jackets & baseball tees to beanies and her serious love for über cool footwear, there’s a laid back cool look for everyone. Look to H&M, Zazzle, Adidas, Criminal Damage and brands at ASOS for sporty luxe picks, while Nike, Adidas & Moschino are all perfect for such shoes.
Party Girl
When Cara goes out with her friends, family or to an event, she always looks the part. Despite being a 5”9.5 model with a fair amount of cash to splash, she makes her looks easy for us to replicate with her down-to-earth style, opting for trouser-looks, an LBD or metallic sheen pieces. Being the beauty face of Yves Saint Laurent & Burberry’s fragrance alongside legendary model Kate Moss, I’ve little doubt that Cara uses anything but the YSL & Burberry brands, but not all of us can afford it. From YSL’s staple pieces & Burberry’s perfumes to more affordable dupes, here is how to get the best look à la Delevingne. Just think strong brows, a dewy barely-there finish and nude lips. Skincare is a big thing for this working model, having to wear different makeup for fashion shows can stress out the skin, so ensure you drink plenty of water & moisturize too.
