Following the fashionable success of the Golden Globe Awards, last night the 20th annual Critics Choice Movie Awards took place in Hollywood Palladium, Los Angeles. With tough steps to follow, Hollywood’s finest stepped out again for a night of celebrations, and the ladies brought their A-game to the blue carpet, showcasing even more fabulous fashion. A lot of sheer textures, high-shine and colourful lipsticks were present, from ball gowns to the trending femme suit. So who made the Killer Fashion Best Dressed list for this year’s Critics Choice?

Black Beauties

Actress Felicity Jones attended in a sheer embroidered black gown by Dolce & Gabbana. The delicately embroidered number is an altered version to its runway counterpart, that features a visible bodice but a full black skirt. A light pink lipstick, smokey eyes, a chic ponytail and cocktail rings completed her look.

Liz Hernandez also attended wearing black, donning a two piece by Black Halo, with ankle strap sandals. I adore her styling for this look, it’s rather effortless.

Actress Rosario Dawson wore a dark midnight blue gown by Vivienne Westwood. Her one-shoulder sweetheart also featured a side slit on the leg, which she teamed with a curly haired bob, a nude lip and diamond drop earrings.

Niecy Nash wore a va va voom number, donning a scooped mermaid gown. Her La Petite Robe gown was an off-the-shoulder figure-hugging look that worked her curves beautifully.

Like her Selma co-star, Lorraine Toussaint was also in attendance, showing up on the blue carpet in a fur shrug & sophisticated crepe gown. She also held an embellished oval clutch and dark red matte lipstick.

Actress Jenny Slate attended wearing a plunging midnight blue Miu Miu dress, with the embellished neckline that she wore with accessories by Prada, Jimmy Choo and Shylee Rose jewels. Jenny Slate also won the award for Best Actress in Comedy for ‘Obvious Child’.

Following her fabulously simplistic approach to the Golden GlobesMichelle Monaghan pulled out the stops in her black Elie Saab dress. Jimmy Choo heels, a Max Mara clutch, and Norman Silverman jewellery completed the look.

Also following her embellished & sparkly number at the Golden Globes, actress Julianne Moore toned it down in her Saint Laurent gown with Fred Leighton jewels.

Sheen & Sheer

Following her win and fabulous dress choice to the Golden Globes, Amy Adams opted for this sheen custom-made Max Mara dress, which she wore with Kurt Geiger shoes, jewels by Neil Lane and a Bottega Veneta clutch.

My beloved Angelina Jolie did attend the awards, looking like an absolute goddess! Typically Angie wore Versace, donning a sheen pleated wrap gown. The longer-length shoulder sleeves added to her sophisticated look, which contrasted beautifully with her dark locks and smokey eyeshadow.

White Hot

Leslie Mann showed up in a cute & cheerful Reem Acra corset & paneled dress, which she styled with Burak Uyan shoes, an iridescent clutch by Jimmy Choo and Irene Neuwirth jewellery.

Rosamund Pike opted for a white lace embroidered haltergown, wearing Valentino Couture on the night.

My beloved Jessica Chastain attended in this white, blue & silver embellished Antonio Berardi Asian-style dress. The actress wore Charlotte Olympia sandals and Piaget jewels with this look. Jessica Chastain was also honoured with the first ever Critics Choice MVP Award. Congratulations!

Keira Knightley showcased a stunning look in her newly maternity-wear, donning an appliqué Delpozo dress with Aurelie Biderman jewellery.

Bringing her A-game to the Critics Choice Awards, actress Marion Cottilard showed off her love for fellow French workmanship donning a balloon-skirted gown by Dior Haute Couture, which she wore with pieces by Chopard.

Mermaids in Blue & Green

Colour was definitely not amiss on this blue carpet, with Genesis Rodriguez leading the way in her pastel blue Reem Acra strapless gown, which featured a side split slit and cutouts on the bodice.

Diane Kruger wore this white & blue patterned strapless by Naeem Khan dress that she styled with Repossi and Amanda Wakeley accessories.

Carly Steel attended in a turquoise gathered dress, which featured a pavé crescent moon-shaped brooch on the middle.

Opting for an relaxed-fit suit look by Escada, Andrea Riseborough wore this aqua-coloured look on the blue carpet. Casadei sandals and a Zagliani clutch with sideswept hair and red listick to finish. Andrea Riseborough also won the award for Best Ensemble for ‘Birdman’ alongside her costars.

A Splash of Colour

Actress Carmen Ejogo wore an Emilia Wickstead coral hued crepe gown for the evening that featured a plunging neckline and visible pockets on the front.

Jamie Chung was also in attendance, wearing a black & nude sheer panel structured gown by Yanina Couture.

Sharlette Hambrick opted for a hot pink kaftan dress to the awards, which was a refreshing switch that I really loved.

Reese Witherspoon wore a custom-made magenta & black strapless column dress to the awards by Lanvin, that featured an oversized ribbon sash at the back.

Looking gorgeous in red was actress Emily Blunt, who showed up in her embellished Emilio Pucci dress, which she accessorized with a Jimmy Choo clutch and jewels by Lorraine Schwartz. Emily Blunt also won the award for Best Actress in Action Movie for ‘Edge of Tomorrow’.

Actress Jennifer Aniston also attended in a femme suit, opting for an off-red two-piece by Gucci. Her accessories included Christian Louboutin shoes, and gold jewellery by Fred Leighton and Amrit.
