On Sunday evening, the 72nd annual Golden Globe Awards took place in Beverly Hills, marking yet another fabulous red carpet evening. But my oh my, I was not expecting SO MUCH BEAUTY! Hollywood’s actresses came in their dozens, showcasing a lot of serious fashion with almost every colour of dress present, ball gowns and column dresses, embellishments and chic simplistic styles and plenty of class & sexiness. I was truly blown away! So who exactly made the Killer Fashion Best Dressed list from the many star-studded starlets?
The Best Dressed
Supermodel Heidi Klum wore a beautiful red gown by Atelier Versace Versace. The tall model showed off her sexiness in this embellished corset cut and train-flowing dress.
One of my favourite girls and looks on the evening was Emma Stone. The actress wore a jumpsuit by Lanvin with an embellished bodice and an oversized bow at the back too. I adore her red hair’s return and her simplistic additions.
E! presenter Giuliana Rancic stole my heart in her Maria Lucia Hohan gown, which she wore with Forevermark jewellery and Christian Louboutin heels. This mermaid gown is just everything, I adore her look from head to toe.
Lady in Red
Actress Alison Williams wore a breathtakingly beautiful strapless tiered gown by Armani Privé, that was custom-made and she wore it with Cartier jewellery.
Dame Helen Mirren had some fun on the red carpet in a figure-hugging dress by Dolce & Gabbana.
Actress Julianna Margulies also wore red, donning this strapless ankle-grazing gown by Ulyana Sergeenko Couture. Her curled updo was a lovely addition, along with jewels by Bvlgari.
I adore Catherine Zeta-Jones in her strapless ruby-red number from Angel Sanchez.
Kristin Dos Santos was all va va voom in her Walter Mendez choice.
Proving that age still equals beauty, Kat Kramer donned this dazzling asymmetrical gown.
Actress Christine Baranski also took to red on the red carpet in a dark red cut out gown by Zac Posen to the awards.
Viola Davis showed off her figure in this Donna Karan Atelier gown.
Black Beauties
Frances O’Connor led the way in black in her strapless lace bodice gown with its full skirt.
TV personality Brooke Anderson looked lovely wearing a black & mesh column dress by Carmen Marc Valvo.
Actress Gina Rodriguez stunned in her strapless sweetheart dress by Badgley Mischka, which featured a sheer frayed & detailed skirt. Curly hair and accessories by Jimmy Choo & Chopard. Gina Rodriguez also won the award for Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy for ‘Jane the Virgin’.
Allison Tolman rocked her black Gauri & Nainika gown to the awards, which featured an asymmetrical ruched overlay on the bodice too. Her stunning jewellery was by Love Gold.
Laura Prepon donned a Christian Siriano gown, with ruffled detailing on the skirt that looked stunning against her porcelain skin & jet black hair.
One of my favourite natural redheads, Jessica Chastain, looked beyond beautiful in her black & gold Atelier Versace choice, as she took to the red carpet in a plunging gown with her hair sideswept.
White Hot
Liana Vasquez wore a white & mesh paneled mermaid-fit gown. I adore the updo and mid-parted fringe the young actress wore with her look.
Super actress & entrepreneur Salma Hayek looked like a princess in an Alexander McQueen gown. Her brocade bustier gown was cinched in on the waist with a belt, that she teamed with soft curled hair, a rose hairpiece and jewels by Boucheron.
One of my favourites, Kate Hudson, looked beautiful as always. I love this woman! She wore Versace that featured a plunging neckline and cut out imitation with sparkling straps on the sides & back. A chic updo and sparkling jewels completed it all.
Emily Blunt looked stunning in a white custom Michael Kors gown, with a cross-over bodice and cut out on the midriff. A plaited updo and statement floral drop earrings completed the look.
Felicity Huffman wore a midi dress to the awards, donning a cross embellished side paneled dress.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus wore a crystal embellished asymmetrical gown that was simply beautiful, courtesy of Narciso Rodriguez.
Monochrome Madness
Mrs. Amal Clooney looked every bit the part in Dior Haute Couture, wearing her black evening gown with white dinner gloves.
Tiziana Rocca blew me away in her embellished mini dress that featured voluminous skirting by Renato Balestra Haute Couture.
Shelby Steel wore a black & white floral printed strapless gown that was every bit elegant as it was beautiful.
Co-hosting with her bad gal on hand, Tina Fey wore an Antonio Berardi custom gown with a bubble skirt, embellishment and black side panels too.
Funny gal Melissa McCarthy worked her curves in this blouse & tiered skirt look with an embellished pussy bow too, which was custom-made, chop shop style from her own wardrobe.
Bold in Blue
Julia Goldani Telles worked it on the red carpet in her straight plunging gown and a full skirt in a teal dark blue hue.
Nancy O’Dell opted for an electic blue asymmetrical dress with a cape and knee-high split.
E! co-presenter Kelly Osbourne wore a navy blue gown with neck embellishment by Georges Chakra. She attended in Brian Atwood heels and jewels by Platt by LoveGold, with her signature lavender hair in a quiff.
Maria Menounos brought her A-game in her embellished bodycon gown with deep inward straps. A slicked back hairstyle and drop earrings finished the look.
Co-hosting with Tina Fey, Amy Poehler attended on the red carpet donning Stella McCartney, in a fully covered gown with ruched detailing on the midriff.
Supermodel Cindy Crawford turned heads in her royal blue Versace gown with Harry Winston jewellery.
Actress Amy Adams attended in a pale cornflower blue asymmetrical by Atelier Versace, which featured a wrapped detailing on the bodice. Amy Adams also won the award for Best Actress – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for ‘Big Eyes’.
Metallic Madness
Never one to disappoint, Jennifer Lopez knocked it out of the park in her super sexy gown, by one of my favourite designers, Zuhair Murad. A plunging neckline and a high mid split on the front, with a fabulous cape too. Her hair & makeup were also on point.
Reese Witherspoon wore a sparkling Calvin Klein strapless column dress, which really just looked stunning on her. A sidesweep and minimal accessories finished up the look.
People’s Choice hostess Anna Faris looked fabulous in her Reem Acra dress with its embellished overlay.
Claire Danes attended wearing Valentinto, a textured plunging gown with a mesh panel.
Oh how I love what Julianne Moore wore! She wore custom-made Givenchy Couture, which was a silver sequined gown with silver-to-blue ombré and feathers on the skirt too. Chopard earrings completed this redhaired beauty’s look. Julianne Moore also won the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for Still Alice.
Kate Beckinsale chose to wear Elie Saab for the awards, donning a stunning embellished plunging gown with a silky skirt. Her hair & makeup with this look is super on-point!
Ellie Kemper looked beautiful in her paneled embroidered and embellished gown, that fit the actress like a glove.
Young actress Dakota Johnson took her sequins to another level in her Chanel Couture.
Diane Kruger wore Emiliia Wickstead, which was a sparkling column gown in a glittering textured material that really shone. Accessories by Kwiat, Marina B and Emm Kuo finished up her look.
Sienna Miller looked lovely in Miu Miu with Tiffany & Co jewellery. Her plunging cream gown featured a lot of embellishment, that was extremely brilliant for this awards show.
Green is Good
Michelle Monaghan led the way for the green gowns, donning Jason Wu to the awards. Her simply bead embellished v-cut slip dress was the perfect choice for the actress.
Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst also graced the red carpet for the awards, donning a dark green velvet gown with silk panels and a beige bustier.
Ruth Wilson attended in a green striped column dress by Prada, which looked fabulous on the actress.
TV personality Shaun Robinson stunned in a green gown with a mesh panel along the neckline.
Pretty in Pink
Young actress Quenzhane Wallis looked as pretty as a button in her white & pink gown by Giorgio Armani.
Zosia Mamet wore a two-tone gown by Andrew Gn, that featured a sweetheart peplum bodice.
Scandal actress Kerry Washington attended the awards in a Mary Katrantzou creation. Her two-tone gown featured a raffia textured fabric in both pink & deep purple.
Looking like a princess on the red carpet was Anna Kendrick, in her stunningly beautiful Monique Lhuillier gown. This blush tulle gown was sleeveless and v-cut with ruby beading that she accessorized with simple jewels and styling.
Chrissy Teigen attended with her husband, donning a pastel pink fully embellished, wearing Zuhair Murad. One of my favourite designers which really works beautifully on the tall model & presenter.
A Splash of Colour
Naomi Watts looked as fresh as can be in Gucci. The column dress was a fabulous choice for the actress, that she wore with a Bvlgari serpent necklace and red lipstick. Stunning!
Leslie Mann also opted for yellow, donning Kaufmanfranco. Her sequin textured strapless was extremely figure-hugging, which she accesoriezed with green drop earrings and a box clutch.
Elettra Wiederman wore a beautiful pale yellow gown that featured a cut out on the bodice and embellishment along the neckline.
One of my favourites Jenna Dewan-Tatum looked beautiful in her pale yellow strapless layered gown by Carolina Herrera.
The beautiful Lupita Nyong’o wore Giambattista Valli Couture to the awards, donning a purple organza bodice gown with watercolour-like ombré on the skirt. She added Chopard jewels and showed off her mini afro.
Katie Holmes was also in attendance, donning a deep purple Marchesa. Her strapless number was worn with a side ponytail, smokey eyes and sparkling jewellery.
Actress Eva La Rue was a surprising attendee who wore a stunning sky blue haltergown, that worked perfectly against her sun-kissed skin tone.
Lana Del Rey wore an aquamarine turquoise plunging pleated gown that was a vintage Travilla dress, along with vintage shoes, a Ferragamo clutch, and jewels by XIV Karats.
