On Wednesday evening, the 41st annual People’s Choice Awards took place at the Nokia Theatre LA, in Los Angeles. Kicking off Awards Season perfectly, it promised a lot of fabulous female fashion from all corners of the industry, and it certainly delivered it too. The actresses came in their dozens, raising the fashion bar to quite a high for the New Year. But who exactly made the Killer Fashion Best Dressed list?
Black Beauties
My beloved Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting attended alongside her cast members, donning a black & white jumpsuit by Peggy Hartanto that featured flared midi trousers and cut outs on the side of the bodice creating illusion panels. The actress opted for a sexy windswept updo, smokey eyes and pink lip complete with black satin pumps to finish her evening look. Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting also won the Favourite Comedic TV Actress Award.
Actress Katharine McPhee joined her fellow industry ladies in a black & white number, donning Balmain for the awards. Her crossover halterneck bodice featured a keyhole detail and waist cut out, while the bandage skirt was monochrome striped. A deep red lipstick, a chic ponytail and barely there cross strap sandals completed her gorgeous look. Does anyone else think Katharine McPhee & our Irish star blogger Suzanne Jackson look similar here?
Greer Grammer looked fabulous in her long black strapless, opting for Alice + Olivia on the night. Her plunging cut out bodice complimented the lace body, which she teamed with a metallic waist belt. Smokey eyes, slicked back hair and minimal accessories completed the actress’ look.
Stepping out in a glitzy black number, Desi Lydic wore a slinky sequin covered to-the-floor dress that featured an open back. She styled her hair into soft curls with smokey eyes and a black manicure too.
I adore what actress Rita Volk wore to the awards, her peekaboo lattice mini featured chic zig-zag hemlines that she simply wore with pink pumps and a matching lip colour, with cat eyeliner and a straight hairstyle. It’s effortlessly beautiful and sexy all at the same time. Love it!
Stana Katic also looked beautiful in her Carolina Herrera choice. The strapless gown featured white floral appliqué on the body and tulle overlay, with which the actress added very little accessories; bar a box clutch, a chic updo and red lipstick. Beautiful! Stana Katic also won the Favourite Crime Drama TV Actress Award.
Nikki Deloach wore a gathered black strapless gown, which looked gorgeous on the tall actress. Long wavy hair, an olive-green box clutch and sparkling necklace completed her look for the ceremony.
Cote de Pablo looked wondrous in her black choice for the evening. Her dress featured a plunging neckline with lace capped sleeves to match the full lace back design. The elegant looked was matched with a romantic curled hairstyle, exaggerated lashes and a nude lipstick.
Also opting for black was last year’s co-host Kat Dennings, who stepped out in a darkly divine Ludmila Corlateanu choice, which featured a waterfall-cut hem, with a lace bodice and bow-tie on the waist. She added black lace Jimmy Choo ‘Julep’ sandals and a faint red lip shade to finish.
Brooke Anderson stunned in her black gown by Sherri Hill. For the awards she wore an embellished sheer overlay paneled bodice dress with a full silk skirt that was cinched in on the waist, adding a gorgeous silhouette to the E! TV presenter.
White Hot
The hotness continued in the white dress corner, with Renee Bargh looking divine in her sweetheart midi dress by Misha Collection. It featured a lace crochet overlay with thin straps that she added very little to which was great because the Australian presenter’s natural beauty is all that was needed for this look.
Stephanie Bauer also opted for a flirty LWD, donning an off-the-shoulders mini dress with a deep sweetheart neckline by Revolve Clothing. The simply sexy dress was worn with pastel pink pumps, a behind-the-ear tucked hairstyle and dark eye makeup, that really worked wonders together.
Katie Peterson chose to wear this cropped two piece ensemble, which I duly recommend her for! A sexy side zipped knee-length skirt with a sleeveless crop top and those spiked heels. Just wow!
Co-host for the People’s Choice Awards this year, Anna Faris stepped out in a white two piece ensemble too, donning Juan Carlos Obando. Her peplum crop top and waterfall ruffle cut skirt sure made an impact on the red carpet, complete with nude Stuart Weitzman sandals, Irene Neuwirth earrings, a half-up, half-down & full fringed hairstyle and kohl-rimmed eyes.
Maria Canals-Barrera turned quite some heads in her figure-huggingly beautiful off-the-shoulders look by Dalia MacPhee. The gathered white & gold textured gown looked divine on the actress, which she styled with a sideswept curly hairstyle, satin red lipstick and a glittering bracelet too.
Metallic Mania
One of my favourite young actresses Sarah Hyland was by far one of the best on the night, in her Christian Siriano couture midi dress. The brocade illusion strapless dress featured crystal embellishments all over the bodice & sheer overlay, that the Modern Family actress teamed with Alexandre Birman heels, a silver satin clutch and flawless makeup & hair.
Co-hosting the show with Anna Faris, Allison Janney took to the red carpet in a silver sparkling deep-v gown by Rani Zakhemgown. Adding oomph to this mermaid-cut gown, the actress teamed a red clutch by Devi Kroell and Martin Katz jewels to finish, with voluminous hair and nude lipstick.
My favourite Giuliana Rancic looked as pretty as a petal wearing a Tony Ward dress, which she accessorized with a Rauwolf clutch, Gianvito Rossi shoes and rings by Eva Fehren & Lina Rossa. I love the flirty girliness of this look that worked well with her blonde bob and bright makeup.
Actress Jillian Rose Reed also attended, wearing a floral printed grey, pink & white Jacquard full gown. The red-haired stunner wore dark smokey eyes and a baby pink lipstick for her look.
A Splash of Colour
Adding vibrancy to the red carpet, Two Broke Girls actress Beth Behrs wore a cobalt blue halter dress by Juan Carlos Obando. Her chiffon choice was accessorized with Guiseppe Zanotti sandals and a Judith Leiber glittering box clutch.
Portia de Rossi also attended in a strong blue hue, donning this Zuhair Murad jumpsuit that featured a nude panel creating a plunging neckline illusion, and a v-cut open back. Her strapless number also featured glasswork-like lining and was worn with nude pumps & a chic textured hairstyle. Beautiful!
Looking pretty in pink was actress Kristen Bell, who took this Monique Lhuillier dress to a whole new level of girly. The tiered organza skirt was worn with an inverted scooped dress-top complete with short sleeves that the actress teamed with Christian Louboutin silver leather heels, a textured bob and a black clutch by Jimmy Choo.
Also donning a romantic colour, Gabrielle Union showcased her fab body in this Honor magenta plunging gown with an open back. Her simply elegant look was worn with a silver necklace, black sandals and curled hair.
Camilla Luddington went all out with her flower graphic printed paneled tea dress by Pamela Rolland, that also featured a sheer and striped panels respectively. Adding black to the look, the young actress teamed it with Jerome C. Rousseau ribbon cross strap sandals and a Ferragamo clutch.
Kelly McCreary wore a unique shade of green, donning a mini dress with a crossover effect on the bodice, a cut out on the midriff and a short cut skirt, all in a contrasting square pattern. A bun updo and black strap sandals completed the actress’ look.
Actress Karina Smirnoff looked all kinds of girly in her flower printed gown, in its pastel hues. The straight neckline cut gown was simply accessorized with a red manicure and a chic hairstyle for the perfect evening look.
Kimberly Perry of The Band Perry also opted for elegance, donning this nude beige plunging dress, complete with a satin waistband and slight train. Thick & textured hair, black nail polish and a white & black minaudière with multi drop earrings were the ultimate finish here.
The Femme Suit
The power suit returned to the red carpet in many shapes & forms. Young Modern Family actress Ariel Winter donned a Smythe tuxedo dress with barely there sandals from Aldo, complete with her jet black hair and a flash of blue eyeshadow & large lashes.
Bella Thorne also opted for a black look sans shirt, donning this Giorgio Armani suit with matching designer embellished heels and a burnt orange-red lipstick to compliment her strawberry blonde hair. I adore this, it’s powerful, sexy but not over the top.
Beloved personality & TV presenter Ellen DeGeneres attended in a cream bomber jacket & pants with a white buttoned up shirt.. Complete with her signature style sneakers, Ellen looked every bit beautiful as her fellow dress-donning ladies and as beautiful as her wife.
Also opting for a neutral hue, Grey’s Anatomy actress Ellen Pompeo attended in a blushingly beautiful jumpsuit by Elie Saab. It featured lace panels and a slight plunging neckline, which she did the look total justice, adding Christian Louboutin pumps and a gold clutch with an effortless bob. Ellen Pompeo also won the Favourite Dramatic TV Actress Award.
