Best Dressed at Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year Awards 2014

Cosmo Cosmopolitan Awards 2014Last night the annual Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year Awards 2014 took place at the One Mayfair in London. The red carpet showcased a generous amount of beautiful fashion to celebrate women in the entertainment industry, which was sponsored by Irish drink brand Baileys.

The Saturdays

My fav gal pals and girlband The Saturdays looked great at the awards, all donning full-length gowns for the occasion. The band also won the Ultimate #FabulousFriends Award in association with Baileys, so congratulations ladies! Una Foden looked wondrous in her navy blue chiffon mermaid gown, with floral appliqué that worked perfectly with her growing baby bump. Her gown was worn with a red manicure, a sweeping updo and straight hair and minimal jewellery.

Vanessa White opted for a white wide plunging gown that featured glistening kriss cross mesh along the bodice and into the sleeves, contrasting with the capped shoulders and white satin that ran alongside it. She teamed her va va voom look with red-hot lips, matching nails and dramatic eye makeup. Unfortunately I’m not a fan of this look with the girls together, but separately it is smokin’!

Blonde beauty Mollie King woe a charcoal slate blue velvet gown that was strapless and simple, with a slight sweetheart neckline and a column fit. She didn’t overdo it with accessories, opting for red lipstick and a flicked out hairstyle that’s reminiscent of Old Hollywood glamour.

Frankie Bridge looked fabulous in her red dress by Suzanne Neville, with a straight plunging detail in sheer mesh. The illusion dress added great shape for an otherwise simple slight capped sleeves column dress. The Dancing With The Stars contestant wore her hair in her pixie cut brushed back, focusing on her bronzed makeup.

Complimenting Una, Rochelle Humes attended in a strapless navy column dress also by Suzanne Neville, that featured a contrasting black waistband. She too wore little jewellery, opting for a simple silver bracelet, red nails and bronzed makeup, similar to Frankie.

Monochrome Madness

Mel B continued her fashion wining streak in this caped jumpsuit by Agnona, similar to her Week 4 of X Factor fashion. She teamed her sophisticated look with black lace pumps by Christian Louboutin, a minaudière by Lee Savage and drop earrings, opting for a red lipstick and elegant straight hair. I love this look a lot, and her makeup is just flawless! Mel B also won the Ultimate TV Personality Award.

Judy Murray also attended in full black, donning a beautiful scooped neckline gown by Adrianna Papell with embellishments on the sheer sleeves in branch-like designs and all over the bodice & waist, and the sheer upper showed off her sweetheart neckline of the bodice. I adore this style for the aging beauty, she really brought elegant and glamorous to the awards.

Opting for yet another black dress look, former X Factor singer Ella Henderson attended donning a v-cut gown that featured geometric panelling in different hues of black, with peekaboo sheer mesh on the waist and sheer sleeves. Voluminous curled hair and smokey eyes completed the young singer’s look. Ella Henderson also won the Ultimate UK Music Artist Award.

Also opting for sheer cleavage, presenter Caroline Flack arrived in a black mini dress that featured a delicate lace panel over the wide v-cut neckline with matching lace cuffs and puffed shoulder-caps. Her voluminous bob was styled with smokey eyes and a red lipstick to match her red mani-pedi, she held a bright multicoloured round clutch and wore black lace tied sandals to finish.

Model Abbey Clancy rocked the red carpet in her femme suit by Prada. Her shirtless power suit worked effortless wonders as she teamed the look with patent pumps, oversized cut out earrings, a nude manicure and thick lashes. Not only is Abbey the cover star for Cosmopolitan UK January 2015, but she also won the Ultimate Style Icon Award!

Kelly Brook joined fellow model on the red carpet in this black & nude illusion dress, wearing a bodycon with cut out-like designs that emphasized the curvy model’s shape. Black strappy sandals, a coral pink mani-pedi and matching pink lipstick and kohl-rimmed eyes completed Kelly’s look, along with curly hair and a zebra-printed bracelet.

Tulisa Contostavlos opted for the femme suit dressing in Self Portrait’s sculpted tuxedo dress. The layered netting brings avant-garde appeal to this tuxedo-inspired mini dress with contrasting peaked lapels, a plunging neckline and asymmetrical pleats that really flattered the singer’s body. She opted for black satin pumps and an updo with soft bangs to finish.

Fashionista Millie Mackintosh also opted for a black & white look, wearing a white mini dress with a lace overlay on the hem and lace cut outs on the sides, complete with a short cape. The stylish look was worn with black & gold barely there sandals, a metallic gold oval clutch, a bouffant bun and a nude pink lip.

Little Mix also joined in on the party, coordinating their outfits for a monochromatic finish. Perrie Edwards wore a column gown with a grid-patterned design and floral appliqué on the front. Slicked back hair and smokey eyes finished her look. Jesy Nelson wore a sexy black halterneck with a cut out on the midriff and a scooped thigh-high split, which showed off her strappy sandals. A choker necklace, cat eyes and a deep red lip completed her look. Leigh-Anne Pinnock attended in a black low v-cut wrap dress with a black & white belt and calf-high sandals. She also opted for dark lipstick and smokey eyes. Jade Thirlwall wore a sassy jumpsuit with a silver beaded & crystal embellished embroidered low scooped bodice, which she wore with glittery heels.

The boys of McBusted, who looked fabulous in their coordinated outfits, causing (fun) havoc on the red carpet, and also went on to win the Ultimate Men of the Year Award! Congratulations Danny, Dougie, Harry, James, Matt and Tom!

Metallic Mania

Jo Pavey opted for a sweet LBD with heavy gold embellishments on the bodice. Similar to Judy Murray’s look, this black dress featured sheer panelling on the upper that showed off the sweetheart neckline of the bodice, and complimented the simple loose-pleated skirt. I’ll ignore the poor choice of shoes for this, as I’m guessing Jo opted for comfort over style with her black patent low heels. Jo Pavey also won the Ultimate Sports Star Award.

After taking my breath away at the British Fashion AwardsElla Eyre did it again in this super hot gold number by Julien Macdonald. The singer wore a gold knit midi dress with impressive gold embellishments strategically placed along the bust & sides emphasizing the hourglass shape. She paired this with metallic patent pumps, a dark red manicure coral orange lipstick and light orange lined eyeshadow with her natural curls adding extra oomph. Love, love, love!

Fearne Cotton started her night out in a starry little number. Before hosting the awards, she looked lovely in this metallic black & gold mini that featured a soft pleated skirt with capped sleeves and a relaxed fit. Platform barely there sandals, a chic updo and off-red lipstick completed her red carpet look. Fearne later changed into a black & sheer gown for the awards ceremony, letting her hair down too.

A Splash of Colour

Myleene Klass lead the way for colour, donning a pink leopard printed midi dress that featured pleating on the neckline and was cinched in at the waist. She wore teal patent heels with this, and pulled her hair back into a ponytail with dramatic eye makeup to finish.

Presenter Davina McCall looked great in her skin, but also in this olive-green v-cut midi dress with black panels across the bust and on the waist. She teamed black patent bow-accented pumps and small hoop earrings to her look, finishing with cat eyeliner and a straight haircut. Davina McCall also won Ultimate Editor’s Choice Award.

Fellow TV presenter Amanda Byram opted for Suzanne Neville on the night, wearing a pink haltergown with loose wings on the bust and a black waistbelt. The fit of the dress is really flattering, and she teamed it with a black box clutch, smokey eyes and a silver cuff bracelet.

Opting for literal splash of colour, Xtra Factor presenter & DJ Sarah-Jane Crawford wore this white midi gown, which featured a diagonally cut neckline and watercolour graphic prints. The gown looked extremely good against her skintone, which she accented with nude pointed pumps, curled hair and exaggerated lashes. Beautiful!

Joining her fellow Dancing With The Stars contestants, singer Pixie Lott looked gorgeous on the red carpet, choosing this off-red & black off-the-shoulders look from Christian Dior Haute Couture. Her sexy 1970’s vintage look was styled with black pumps, a red lipstick and matching vintage-styled hair. Gorgeous look for a gorgeous girl.
