Last night the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show took place. As you know, it’s really no secret that I love the VS Fashion Show, and this year’s themes included Gilded Angels, Exotic Traveler, Dream Girl, Fairy Tale, Angel Ball & University of Pink. The models travelled across the sea in a VS-branded private jet, arrived in London and put on a spectacular show in London’s Earl’s Court Exhibition Centre. The ladies looked stunning in their selection of lingerie, jewels, accessories, clothing and of course, the famous VS wings and this year’s two Fantasy Bras. Killer Fashion gives you a look at the fashion show, though you’ll have to wait until December 9th to watch the full show.
As mentioned in The VS Hype post, this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show included an impressive 47 models: the beloved and veteran VS Angels Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, Lily Aldridge, Doutzen Kroess, Izabel Goulart, Karlie Kloss, Candice Swanepoel, Behati Prinsloo & Lindsay Ellingson as well as internationally loved models like Jourdan Dunn, Joan Smalls, Barbara Fialho, Bregje Heinen, Constance Jablonski, Cindy Bruna & Devon Windsor. The fabulously extravegant fashion show also showcased the VS debut of Daniela Braga, Grace Mahary, Imaan Hammam, Irina Sharipova, Katie Grigorieva, Romee Strijd, Taylor Hill, Yumi Lambert and Irish model Stella Maxwell!
Gilded Angels
“Celebrate the iconic Victoria’s Secret Angel in gold-drenched couture, bold embroidery & delicate beading.” This section of the show featured a lot of gold, goddess-like angel looks with many wings and corsets, blush coloured lingerie and tall metallic boots adore the background of explosions and confetti in all hues of gold, it really added to the opening theme perfectly. Model Karlie Kloss revealed that the wings in this section were painted with real 18karat gold, resulting in the most expensive piece ever made by haute couture designer Serkan for a Victoria’s Secret show! Exotic Traveler
“Embark on an adventure filled with dazzling designs with vibrant, unique textures & sparkling jewels.” The colourful section of the show was prominent in red, feathers and a mix of textures. We saw long trains and capes, mini jackets and of course the VS history marker of two Fantasy Bras worn by Adriana Lima & Alessandra Ambrosio respectively. And my did they look divine on the veteran Angels. Ed Sheeran performed “Thinking Out Loud” during this set, rocking it in a shirt, waistcoat, tie & trousers but keeping it real with his high-top sneakers. Click here to shop the theme.
Dream Girl
“Channel your inner boudoir babe. Let loose at the best slumber party ever with playful looks & push-up silhouettes decked in lace & a powder-puff palette.” For the section, the VS models stunned in flirty, romantic and sexy looks donning everything from lace to silky ribbons and chiffon robes to the cute faux fur pom-poms on their heels and the sexy stockings. Taylor Swift performed “Blank Space” from her latest album 1989 during this set, decked out in a Victoria’s Secret silk & lace playsuit and robe with the faux fur pom-pom heels too. She looked every part a VS model. Click here to shop the theme.
Fairy Tale
“Get swept away by flowing frocks, ethereal creation in earthy tones topped with iridescent details.” I was extremely excited to see this theme of the show come to life, and it looks like the models were as excited. The energy was at maximum with fairytale elements on the catwalk from glitter, gold and pastels, flowers and butterfly & leaf-like wings. Irish artist Hozier provided this section with his amazing singing skills, performing his hauntingly beautiful “Take Me to Church”. Click here to shop the theme.
University of Pink
“Inspired by PINK’s colourful, cool runway creations.” For the traditional PINK by Victoria’s Secret section, it was all about fun, colourful and sporty styles with crop tops, thick waistbands, over-the-knee socks and of course a lot of pink. Ariana Grande performed a “Bang Bang” with a backtrack of Jessie J, which I kind of thought wasn’t right to do… But the petite singer gave it all, dancing in a sequin two-piece of a kriss cross crop top, high-waisted shorts and a half peplum skirt in girly leopard print with PINK over-the-knee sock & Christian Louboutin boots. Angel Ball
“Opt for an evening of seductive glamour where opposites attract: black meets white & tulle mixes with tuxedo details”. Closing the show, the models strutted in dark attire, donning mostly black lace, corsets and suspenders, black feathered wings and capes & trains. BFFs Karlie Kloss & Taylor Swift walked the runway together as TayTay sang “Style”, one of my favourites from her 1989 album. The pair strutted up the checkered runway with Karlie’s massive cape taking centre stage. Balloons and confetti ended the show with a bang, marking yet another absolutely spectacular show to the Victoria’s Secret books. Click here to shop the theme.
