Watching Darren Kennedy’s #TRENDING show this past month, and rewatching it on the RTÉ Player, I’m inspired to write another men’s style post, all about how to wear the suit. There are so many looks a man can do with just one suit, and you don’t have to wear them altogether. You can opt for a casual or formal look, for all and any occasion with just the right pieces. From designers to high street, I’ve found great picks for these three looks shown on the show.
If you buy a three-piece suit, you haven’t just bought this uniform piece that you change the shirt, you change the bow tie. You’ve actually invested in three individual tailored garments. – Darren Kennedy
The Dandy Look
For Look One in his men’s styling section, Darren suited & booted Lucas with a deep red velvet jacket by Marc Darcy, teaming the look with a white shirt, a charcoal waistcoat also by Marc Darcy, charcoal jeans & belt from French Connection and finished with burgundy patent leather shoes by Azor. The velvet blazer can look very classy with the right styling, the right cut and especially the right colour. Velvet on men is quite a dandy style indeed, and you can achieve this easily without looking like Hugh Hefner, unless that’s the style you are going for.

Casual Cool
For Look Two, Darren styled Andy in a casual monochrome look with a grey fitted blazer by BOSS Hugo Boss that featured a lattice pattern and an impressive leather trim under the collar & leather elbow patches too. This hint of leather really helps tie the look together, as he matched all-leather hi top sneakers from Converse x Jack Purcell to even out the leather from top to toe. Casual and comfortable black jeans and a roundneck black sweater finish up the look perfectly. A well patterned blazer is a great addition to any casual outfit, that has heads turning, eyelashes batting and even has the other lads talking.

Classy But Laid Back
For Look Three of the segment, Eoin was styled in a relaxed look for that classy but also casual vibe. No blazer was on show here, but a simple crisp white T-shirt from Jack & Jones, teamed with a navy textured waistcoat & trousers by BOSS Hugo Boss that were rolled up and completed with brush tanned lace up boots from Bugatti. I really love this look, you could add a leather jacket, a casual blazer or open cardigan to this for the ultimate classy laid back style. Very easy & will have ladies extremely interested.
