A big trend for this Autumn/Winter season, the cape is one outerwear piece that should be in every woman’s wardrobe. With fashion house Burberry trending the cape post-show after fashion week this year, the high street and fellow designer brands are on the bandwagon, and so are the bloggers. Capes are extremely sophisticated, elegant and of course, very fashionable. You can wear them in different forms such as blazer capes, woollen coat capes & poncho or blanket capes, and still stay warm & classy for work, lunch with friends or evenings out. Below I’ve picked out a handful of beautiful and affordable capes, as well as three different looks to rich the aforementioned capes.
The Trending Cape
Three Capes, Three Looks, Three Occasions
As the title describes, I’ve styled three capes for three different looks and occasions for you to take inspiration from. The first is the BCBG Max Azria ‘Upas Cape’, with which I’ve created an office-friendly look that you can also rock sans shirt if you dare to business meetings or lunches; the second is the Ted Baker ‘Hollisi Embellished Collar Cape’ that is perfect with dark and muted tones for weekends with the family and lunch or dinner with the girls; and the final look features Reiss ‘Vreeland Tailored Flared Cape’, which I’ve styled for an LBD night out/party look that’s great for the cold AW14 evenings ahead.
