This year’s BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards took place in Wembley Arena, London on October 19th. And though not many of the nominees or the industry’s big stars showed up, those who did brought their A-game to the red carpet and the show.
The Brit Babes
Co-host for the evening, Rita Ora, stunned on the red carpet in a bedazzling, fully embellished and colourful mini dress. Her choice for the arrival featured a wide-cut neckline with minimal panels in the middle and scalloped hems. Sideswept deep waves, pearl-embellished gladiator heels and Maria Francesca Pepe rings completed her look along with liquid-lined eyes and an orange-red lipstick. Later Rita changed outfits four times (including a Union Jack-bearing ruffle dress), closing the show in a striped multicoloured latex skirt & matching sheer blouse.
Fearne Cotton also went for an all white everything kind of look in her 1970s-inspired outfit. The radio host and fashion icon looked effortlessly chic in her blouse and pants ensemble that she wore with a loosely wrapped scarf and a peep of black pointed heels.
Like her Radio 1 colleague, Jameela Jamil was on-point fashion wise in her cropped set with a plaid-printed coat over the shoulders. Chunky Lita boots, sunglasses and a retro cassette designed crossbody completed her look, along with red lipstick and slightly parted bangs.
Anna Passey attended in an embellished cream-coloured mini dress with a black leather jacket that she teamed with pointed black ankle boots & exposed socks, a voluminous sideswept fishtail braid, smokey eyes and a black clutch. An extremely hot look for this young actress.
X Factor Alumni
My beloved Cheryl Fernandez-Versini attended the awards donning a white midi dress with mesh skirting, keyhole detail on the bodice and an interlocking large gold chain torc neckpiece for a sexy but sophisticated goddess-like look. She teamed the look with white sandals by Givenchy and a pulled back bun, whilst nude lipstick and big lashes finished her overall look. Gorgeous!
Ella Henderson opted for black attire, donning a jersey jumpsuit with a plunging sheer mesh panel, chunky suede heels and a black & white leather jacket. The former X Factor songstress kept her long tresses in beachy waves with barely there makeup. Ella also performed ‘Glow’ during the show, which you can watch here.
The fabulous foursome of Little Mix represented young ladies in style to a tee. The girls sometimes coordinate outfits, and this year’s look was exactly that. Jade Thirlwall wore an oversized navy suit by Topshop Boutique, complete with white stripes down the outer sides and rolled up cuffs on both the jacket & pants, and opted for a sans shirt with Zara nude pumps to finish. I love this whole look; it’s very Angelina Jolie, which is always a plus in my books.
Leigh-Anne Pinnock went for a playsuit in a deep midnight blue hue by Jean-Pierre Braganza, with exposed pockets underneath that matched Jade’s striped attire. She wore a matching designer white beehive patterned mesh jacket and Steven Madden strappy heels with a side ponytail and sweeping bangs.
Perrie Edwards attended in a white and wispy ankle grazing embroidered dress from Free People that had a squared halter neckline that she matched with pewter chunky sandals by Topshop, and her typically quirky orange-red eyeshadow.
And as for Jesy Nelson, she went for her trademark rock chic look in a black long sleeved silhouette dress with a thigh-high split. Her ASOS asymmetric cut dress was worn with ASOS heels and an array of jewellery from Jade Jigger, Rock n Rose, Topshop and Theo Fennell. As a foursome, the girls really rocked their red carpet looks.
