On Saturday night I attended the Blog Awards Ireland 2014 with my friend and fellow blogger Megan of Blondes Love Cupcakes, for which she was a finalist in the Best Beauty Blog category. It was a spectacular and fun night that took place in the Westgrove Hotel, Clane in Co. Kildare. Although Killer Fashion was nominated in the Longlist this year, I’m still extremely happy to have attended because I was in for a special surprise along with a great friend of mine…!
What I Wore
For the awards I opted for a waterfall cut bustier with studs from the Cotton Club that was inspired by Madonna circa her 1980s era. I bought this dress a few years ago and am delighted that it still fits me perfectly.
I added a selection of pink & gold bangle bracelets by Adele Marie, which you can find at Brown Thomas, along with two chain necklaces from H&M, my beloved Michael Kors watch and usual set of rings. After researching a little on Madonna’s 1980s fashion, it seems an abundancy of jewellery was in order for the look, and I was happy to oblige.
As for my shoes, I was torn between two pairs but in the end I chose to wear my Christian Louboutin Bianca heels, and accessorized with my Glitz N Pieces Chanel-inspired perfume box clutch. I received a generous amount of compliments for both my shoes & bag, which always puts a smile on my face.
As for my makeup regime, I opted for my usual Yves Saint Laurent regime with Tom Ford ‘Ice Queen’ eyeshadow palette, L’Oréal Paris liquid liner & mascara, GOSH kohl liner and Essence ‘Stay With Me lipgloss’.
Megan and I had an extremely fun night at the awards. The food was indeed good, and the cocktail yoghurt desserts were something else! Many thanks to Glenisk for their tasty little treats. We mingled, we danced and met some really brilliant people, including the team at Head Stuff, who also won Best Arts & Culture Blog award. The big surprise on the night was the announcement that Picture This won Best Group Blog! Congratulations to my friend Timi and his team; Jemma, JR, Niamh, Brian, Caelinn & Beibhinn! As the team couldn’t be there on the night I got to accept the award on their behalf, and even said a few words on the night to thank everyone for them!
