We’ve now moved to France for Paris Fashion Week, and my what an exciting buzz this gives me! With Paris and French fashion renowned for its feminine chic, daring and bold choices and of course on-trend pieces, designers, attendees and bloggers are all at the edge of our seats to see what is turning out in Paris this week. The weather is due to stay hot for most of the fashion events, so let’s hope the collections can keep up with it too.

Corrie Nielson

Kicking off Paris Fashion Week, Corrie Nielson’s show was quite a sight, and quite a difference to the previous city’s fashion & style. This showcased a bit of experimental designs, kooky styles all with a fun, French chic vibe. It featured exaggerated piping, structured knitwear, and perspex details that added to the quirkiness with an edge. Though not everyone’s cup of tea, props to designer Corrie Nielson for bringing this collection to life.

Christine Phung

I really adored Christine Phung’s collection, it was modern, fun and very chic. She opened the SS15 show with an all-white dress shirt look with mesh stripes, followed by polka dot prints, cut out dresses & co-ordinates and silk pieces, all in a mix of red, grey, black or slate blue, what really stood out during the fabulous show were those red eyebrows each model sported. Yes, red eyebrows. Genius!

Pascal Millet

For this French designer’s show, the SS15 trends were plentiful: floral motifs, monochrome, leather and subtle pastels. What started with a rather sexy opening look of a leather bralet and skirt combo soon turned sweet with pastel blue & pink colour blocking dresses and florals before reentering leather that was then constantly thrown from one theme to the other and back again.

Anthony Vaccarello

The Anthony Vaccarello show’s theme of biker chick-meets-natuical was honoured from open to close with leather, monochrome and attitude being its prominent features. Asymmetrical skirts and dresses were also a large feature of the collection, along with buckle & anchor details, denim and sheer nautical stripes, pateneted leather panels with cut off letters and plunging necklines. The designer even threw in a flash of red in only one of his looks, and chose model Mica Arganaraz to both open and close the show. (You’ll remember Anthony Vaccarello walked NYFW post-show with Donatella Versace for Versus)
