Oscar de la Renta

One of my favourite designers, the Oscar de la Renta show did not disappoint. Beautiful is an understatement, but that’s exactly what the collection was with its soft hues, feminine flaunting shapes, checked patterns and floral cut outs, sophisticated shorts, pants & brogues and the floral backdrop at the top of the runway. The show really delivered everything and then some.

Naeem Khan

For this Spring 2015 RTW collection, designer Naeem Khan ventured into the sporty luxe trend with serious embellishments, timeless monochrome, mesh, silk and tres cool pointed brogues being some of the main features along with on-the-shoulder blazers over sequin-covered floor-length dresses and flirty & feminine designs. It was definitely a collection not to have missed.

Jenny Packham

Another of my favourite designer, Jenny Packham delivered brilliantly with her Marilyn Monroe-inspired collection. Speaking of the collection, the designer showed how she evidently researched the timeless icon from visiting her Beverly Hills Hotel bungalow to viewing Monroe’s private collection of dresses. The show did showcase a spectacular influence with feminine & sophisticated embellished or floral appliquéd dresses in figure flaunting cuts.

Rodarte

The Rodarte collection was one not to mess with; it was that fierce. Skinny high-waisted jeans with above-the-knee cut out sandals, sheer blouses, ruffles, mesh netting, fish scale sequins on jackets and faux pierced eyebrows. This show was fun, bold and daring at the same time; it was mermaid meets rock chick cool.

Badgley Mischka

Celebrating 25 years in the making, the duo designers sent out another beautiful collection of dresses, two-pieces, metallic threaded tweed and ruffled gowns in soft earth tones, pastels and embellishments. There were so many looks I loved, especially the peplum dresses and those mermaid gowns. The show concluded with the two designers walking out, supermodel Naomi Campbell between them and a birthday cake trailing their steps. Congratulations Badgley Mischka!
