Dublin Fashion Festival: Creative Quarter Fashion Show

On Friday, September 5th, the Creative Quarter Fashion Show took place in the Powerscourt Centre. The set up was beyond amazing, with colourful drapes from the high ceiling, the runway and seating within what is usually the café restaurant, and DJ Steve Cooper spinning tunes atop us all from his booth. The No7 team were on hand for makeup touch ups for all ladies, as well as Wah Nails who provided manicures without fuss. With lights, cameras and action, this fashion show, deemed “the highlight of the festival” by Clyde Carroll, was everything and more showcasing beautiful pieces by Irish designers, brands and stores from the beloved Creative Quarter of Dublin City.

Venue: Powerscourt Centre, South William Street
What I wore: SOHO Market N.Y.C., Pimkie, vintage River Island & ALDO
Highlights: The fashion show itself was amazing, especially the bridal wear section; face of the festival, Angela Scanlon, returning to Dublin to host the fashion show and also meeting her post-show; having chats with Richard Guiney about how Dublin Fashion Week will become a thing by 2017 after the success of this past week; the after party in the Pygmalion!

The fashion show consisted of daywear, eveningwear, menswear and bridal wear (my favourite section!) The looks for the show were from Costume, Cherry Bum, Carousel, French Connection, Genius, Patrick Sherry Menswear, Lya Solis, Covet, Harlequin, Raglan, Om Diva, Marion Cuddy, Ciara Bridal, Dawn Fitzgerald and de Stafford Bridal to name a few, which were worn with Irish pride by the 1st Option models, styled with chic hair and stunning makeup also done by Dylan Bradshaw and No7 respectively.
