Yesterday evening I attended an exclusive pre-launch for the brand new Yves Saint Laurent foundation, Fusion Foundation. Brown Thomas’ YSL representative, Michelle, gave a small group of us a super chat about the new Autumn/Winter 2014 range, as well as an informative brief on their latest foundation. I was actually the volunteer on whom all the products were tried on, meaning I left with a beautifully YSL made-up face and a big smile! Michelle is also the winner of Best Makeup Artist UK & Ireland 2013, so that in itself was an honour. Continuing on with her fab collaborations, Cara Delevingne is still the face of YSL Beauty, with new ad campaigns rolling out for the upcoming season.

The brand new Yves Saint Laurent foundation has landed with secret samples happening in Brown Thomas and an exclusive pre-sale on the official YSL Beauty e-shop! It delivers flawless coverage that lasts up to 24 hours, even while using the smallest amount of product, while still feeling ultra-light on your skin. Fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar have even named it “the new wonder product”, and its 16 available shades also correspond with previous YSL foundations, so you won’t get too lost finding yours. Fusion Foundation is available to buy online at Yves Saint Laurent Beauty & in stores now, at €40/£31.50

Verdict for Yves Saint Laurent Fusion Foundation – 5/5
The new foundation is very lightweight and it blends with ease due to its silky formula. Although I don’t wear a lot of makeup on a daily basis, the Irish weather causes me to lose my natural colour too quickly, and the tint in this foundation helps bring it back, without being too ‘cakey’. In comparison to the YSL Le Teint Touche Éclat foundation, the formula is much lighter and still covers well. I really do only use a small amount for full coverage with the totally different wand applicator, which does last all day long. For a long-lasting coverage, I regularly use it with my YSL Forever Youth creme, Touche Éclat pen and CC Cream. I really do like this foundation and I definitely recommend heading to the YSL counter in Brown Thomas to get yourself a sample bottle if you can’t wait until its official launch date. (I know, I’m a fiend for YSL products, but they are SO GOOD!)
