Yesterday night I went to see Miley Cyrus live in concert in The O2, Dublin. This was my first time seeing Miley, and my did this 21-year-old put on a spectacle of a show, from her now-signature twerking in leotards to her super energy on stage and amazing vocal talents. Her set was really lively, full of colour and sparkles, with a selection of dancers and giant stage additions. Her Bangerz Tour reflected the album really well, and though the tour had to take a hiatus when Miley became sick, thankfully this Dublin gig got the full & healthy dose of Miley Cyrus, and my oh my does Killer Fashion love, well, her custom killer fashion!
Set One
Miley opened the show with SMS (Bangerz), stepping out atop a slide in a sparkling bodysuit, custom made by The Blonds. This silver crystal embellished bodysuit featured two 3D lip & tongue emblems on the front and at the back, modeled off Miley’s trademark tongue. She wore embellished white cowboy boots that feature the dollar sign, which really suited her second track 4×4, with its country dance section. The statement bodysuit was high cut on the leg, as are all of Miley’s bodysuits on tour.
Set Two
The Blonds created a new design for Miley’s second look, which is different to the suit she wore in the States on Leg 1 of the tour. This bodysuit was emblazoned with ‘Miley dollars’, with slightly capped shoulders, full sleeves and a plunging neckline filled in with a nude panel. The look was also slightly 3D with some of the dollars sticking out, and was bang on point for her performance of Love, Money, Party, where the audience were gifted with a shower of Miley dollars from the canons. Her stylist, Simone Harouche, accessorized this look with a silver Chanel mini backpack, a gold chain bearing the Marijuana leaf and the same boots as before.
Set Three
In the States, Miley wore red. In Europe, Miley wears yellow. This look is an ode to Jessica Rabbit, of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, but in Europe’s case it’s the yellow sister. The Blonds created this modernized bodysuit along with a rip-away feathery skirt, complete with yellow bedazzled cocktail gloves and yellow cowboy boots, which Miley first wore during her performance of FU. The plunging bodysuit featured nude panels on the sides and back with yellow on the bust & down the middle. For #GETITRIGHT, she added a yellow boa-like kimono.
Set Four
The next set was short & sweet, as Miley only wore this black & white look for one song, Can’t Be Tamed. This ensemble consisted of a leather halterneck crop top, fluffy black & white diagonally striped chaps and a glitzy thick belt, black glitter embellished gloves and extra feather on the gloves. This creation was accompanied by an oversized inflatable dog, to commemorate Miley’s dog Floyd who passed away suddenly last month.
Set Five
For the slower set of the show, Miley was all covered up. She wore a full-length black cat suit that featured all-over crystal embellishment, with some crystals gathering to create bikini illusions. Miley performed her hit ballad Adore You and Drive during this set, which are two of my personal favourite songs from Bangerz.
Set Six
The sixth set was really beautiful, as Miley sang Rooting For My Baby (I LOVE this song!) with such emotion, as well as three cover songs; Summertime Sadness by Lana Del Ray, There Is a Light That Will Never Go Out by The Smiths and Jolene by Dolly Parton. She wore custom Kenzo for this look, donning a black & white shirt with a matching bodysuit underneath, both that feature the Kenzo eye emblem all over.
Set Seven
Miley also performed 23, which she originally features on with Mike Will Made It, Wiz Khalifa & Juicy J. In the States she opted for Christina Aguilera-inspired leather chaps, a la Dirrty, however in Europe, Miley dons low rise basketball tracksuit bottoms with shimmery panels, and another plunging bodysuit in red sequin embellished & black mesh. Complete with a beanie hat that bore ’23’ on the front and black & red Nike Air Jordans.
Set Eight
Switching it up for the pre-finale, Miley donned a white bodysuit with all-over mirror & crystal embellishment that was fully sleeved and also featured a cowl hood. She wore embellished fringe boots and a furry oversized yellow coat before riding her giant hot dog over the crowd and exiting the stage singing Someone Else, another favourite of mine.
Encore
For the encore of We Can’t Stop and Wrecking Ball, Miley reappeared wearing the above bodysuit sans coat. Her two hit songs were a success at the concert, with every audience member singing along, as she rocked her The Blonds look. She waved goodbye, for what we thought would be the last time, but then five minutes later reentered donning a super USA attire, for her post-encore tune of Party In The USA! Her red, white & blue fully sequined bodysuit featured stripes on the upper bodice with cut out straps on the sides in the respective colours. She teamed it with a blonde bob wig (oh how it made me miss her lnger hair), a white bedazzled cowboy hat, red & white cowboy boots and a sequined Chanel handbag.
