As far as an SS14 fashion show goes, Zuhair Murad’s was one of the most beautiful and striking shows this season. White was the predominant colour for the Spring/Summer 2014 Couture collection, though gold, pinks and yellows also made their way into the romantically gorgeous runway show. The designer’s signature lace was very obvious in the show, with gold leaf waistbelt accenting the tall models and giving the gowns even more shape. Take a look at Killer Fashion’s absolute favourite gems from this SS14 collection.

White to Gold

This opening of the collection was full of sophisticated white dresses, dress-coats, skirts and tops in lace and silk, with gold accents like the blazer buttons and the shiny gold leaf waist belts. I particularly love the blazer dress-coat, the fully-lace flowy dress with its billowing sleeves and the nude mesh dresses that have an aura of understated sexiness.

Bringing Sexy in Black

Black was featured in the show also, with sexy silhouettes and necklines; from the plunging zebra-like patterned gown & jumpsuit to the sophisticated alternative and the princess gowns. There were many details in them all, though my favourite is the mermaid gown with sheer tulle around the knees on her décolletage, giving the illusion of a slight plunging neckline. You may remember Kate Hudson wearing this to the Oscars Vanity Fair Party last weekend.

Pastel Heaven

The middle section of the show boasted pastel shades from pink, mint, melon orange and yellows dresses & gowns perfect for any occasion be it the red carpet or a cocktail party. I love that many of the dresses seem to have pockets on the side, an ever-going trend and favourite of red carpet celebrities, as well as the all-over embellishments and the floral confections for both the young and older generations.

From Lilac to The Wedding Dress

Lilac and blue hues also walked the carpet, and were fully fledged in embellishments, feathers, embroidery and of course lace. And like every Zuhair Murad Couture collection, this one ended with the gorgeous bridal dress, a deep sweetheart cut fully embellished with embroidered floral organza on the bodice & full skirt and a matching veil. Just beautiful!
