Yesterday I was sent the press release for Shiseido Makeup and my, does their Spring/Summer 2014 collection look gorgeous! It’s full of brightening effect make up in lovely spring/summer colours and is such great quality; you won’t blink twice at the price. The five key looks for the collection really embodied this season, with colour, contouring and barely there make up, all that were beautifully modeled by international model Sui He. Most of the Spring/Summer 2014 collection is available in Arnotts, Clerys and selected pharmacies from February 17th, though some products aren’t released until April 7th.
Look 1: Gloss
“The luxury of lacquer with incredible gloss” – This look highlights Shiseido’s new Lacquer Gloss, that’s now available in 8 new shades. It has a highly pigmented, shiny topcoat with no stickiness that also features a moisturizing effect to prevent the lips from drying out and even repairs roughness. Use it as a solo gloss or on top of lipstick. Shiseido’s makeup artist Dick Page says, “the collection is about the simplicity of a lip gloss married to the intensity of a lipstick, with deep pigment and rich colour payoff, long lasting shine and gloss. The lacquer rouge collection creates ‘a speedy glamour’.”
In this look Sui He wore Lacquer Gloss in Plum Wine, she also wore two shades of Shimmering Cream Eye Color in Yuba & Konpeito, the Eyebrow Styling Compact in Deep Brown, Perfect Mascara Full Definition in Black and Face Color Enhancing Trio in Apple.
Look 2: Soft
“Full eyebrows frame gentle colour” – This look is all about accentuating the eye area, especially the brows and upper eyelid. The Shimmering Cream Eye Color is also available in 8 new shades, and is a shimmering cream to powder, with intense jewel-like shimmer and reflection, that gives off a brilliant colour and that shines & lasts all day without creasing or fading.
In this look Sui He wore Shimmering Cream Eye Color in Lemoncello & Magnolia, and she also wore Lacquer Gloss in Baby Doll, the Eyebrow Styling Compact in Deep Brown and Face Color Enhancing Trio in Lychee.
Look 3: Intense Lips
“Barely there’ eyes and deep berry lips” – Another look that explores the new lip products, Shiseido’s Lacquer Rouge is a more liquid rouge gloss that leaves lips as smooth as lacquer, with an intense colour and deep luster. The 7 shades available are all rose hues, which are very complimentary on the lips, and the formula also helps smooth & hydrate lips.
In this look Sui He wore Lacquer Rouge in Hellebore, and she also wore Luminizing Satin Eye Color Trio in Nude, Perfect Mascara Full Definition in Black and Face Color Enhancing Trio in Apple.
Look 4: Intense Eyes
“New smokey eyes in luscious purple” – This look really highlights the Shimmering Cream Eye Color product again, as it showcases a trio of eye shadows that would look fab on most skin complexions. As mentioned above, these colours have jewel-like shimmer, last for up to 16hours and also have excellent moisturizing benefits.
In this look Sui He wore Shimmering Cream Eye Color in Shout, Cardinal & Pale Shell, and she also wore Lacquer Gloss in Debut, Eyebrow Styling Compact in Deep Brown and Face Color Enhancing Trio in Plum.
Look 5: Glamorous
“Rich eyes contrast with bright lips” – this final look is colourful and bright, perfect for the SS14 season. The Face Color Enhancing Trio highlights and contours really well, with as it is a multicoloured and multi-functional face powder that creates a beautiful complexion. The way in which to use it is to take a generous amount on the brush, use the top blushing colour to gives a rosy complexion; the middle sculpting colour to create a 3D appearance; and the bottom colour to help harmonize skin tone and overall look.
In this look Sui He wore Face Color Enhancing Trio in Peach, and she also wore Shimmering Cream Eye Color in Sumaches, Sable & Nightfall and Lacquer Gloss in Ebi.
The Shiseido fragrance is also worth mentioning, with its beautiful packaging and fruity, spring-perfect notes, as well as their foundations, which both have SPF 30 built in.

Global Sun Care UV Protective Liquid Foundation SPF 30 – “A fresh liquid texture that spreads over the skin, leaving a dewy luminous finish. This foundation is long lasting as it has a non-transfer effect and is also highly moisturizing.”
